Popular Santa Cruz del Norte 4-star Hotels

I have visited this resort many times and will likely visit again only because of KIKi and the wonderful staff. The Hotel has undergone some upper management changes with management that does not quite understand why people visit a beach resort. I have seen personnel changes that seem completely contradictory to guest satisfaction and a noticeable missing element of the Diamond Club Level of service that is offered at a elevated price. The problem is that the Hotel always seems to be missing some of the most simple things that make the Diamond Club experience incomplete. One example, Tonic water, they are always out of tonic water so if you pay for Diamond Club and your drink is Gin & Tonic , your out of luck. The other issue is the beach bar “ el ranchon” is missing fundamental elements and often closes early even in the warmer months with extended daylight, it’s a Beach Resort, that’s why people visit. I posted photos of the lobby bar and the beach bar for example.

I stayed at Blau Arenal once again. I have stayed there 4 times over the last few years. As usual the staff are lovely, respectful and very patient with my Spanglish. Their sense of humor is excellent. The lady who cleaned my room, Yissell ( Mariposa ) always has gone above and beyond....her service was excellent . Thank you so much, Yissell!!! The Manager, Miguel, is truly committed to the welfare of his establishment and his employees. He is under some unique challenges in Cuba asa manager. What a great job you are doing, Miguel. I had need of medical attention on one occasion and the Doctor (Yoel) and Nurse ( Sonia) were truly kind and professional. They fixed me up very well. Thank you!! During my most recent stay there was a student, Dianna, who is aspiring to a Public Relations position in the Hospitality industry. In the short time I had the pleasure to speak with her I was truly impressed by her skills in PR, her excellent English and her willingness to help me find my way. I am planning to return to Blau Arenas in Habana Este in the near future. The hotel is very well maintained, the rooms are very clean, the water is hot in the shower. The food was of excellent quality , fresh and tasty. Thank you to all of the staff who made my stay peaceful and fun, healthy and safe. Finally, thanks to the Sunwing Representative, Yoamis. What a lovely, kind and caring woman. She is truly committed to serving the Sunwing guests with all their various questions and requests. I have met many Tour Representatives in Cuba over the years and Yoamis is without doubt the most qualified and truly the best is have had the pleasure of dealing with. Steve Ball
