"The hotel was very crowded, and there was a wait for check-in. However, while waiting, the front desk gave us temporary room cards so we could visit Panmen. The pool was the most crowded spot, with many coaches giving lessons both indoors and outdoors. It was swarming with people, and they splashed water everywhere without regard for others. It was only less crowded around noon and early in the morning. The breakfast was good and served until 10:30 AM. Although there was no announcement before closing, the local specialties were all delicious, and the fruit was very sweet. The only fresh juices available were carrot and cucumber. However, during our stay, there was renovation work on the floor above us, specifically floor drilling during nap time, with no prior communication. The assumption that guests wouldn't be in their rooms was very disappointing. We called the front desk to complain about the noise, and they kept saying they would look into it, but nothing was done. Eventually, my family had to go upstairs themselves to ask the workers to stop. Afterwards, the duty manager came to apologize and asked if the renovation could continue for just another hour... I almost laughed out loud. We paid to stay here, not to listen to construction noise. They finally offered a welcome fruit basket as an apology, which was also quite amusing, as other hotels provide welcome fruit upon check-in, but here you only get it if something goes wrong. Neither during check-in nor check-out were we asked if we had a car, nor were we informed that we needed to scan a QR code for free parking. It was also difficult to reach the front desk by phone, as it often rang for a long time without anyone answering."

The hotel's location is superb; it's easy to park if you're driving, and it's a convenient distance to all the major attractions. The surrounding commercial area is well-equipped with restaurants and shops, making dining and shopping very hassle-free. Upon entering the hotel, I was immediately impressed by the elegant and grand atmosphere. The public areas are impeccably maintained, and the landscape design creates a wonderful ambiance. The cleanliness in the guest room was exceptional; the floors and bathroom corners were meticulously cleaned, and the bedding was fresh, soft, and odorless. All the room facilities and equipment are well-maintained; the air conditioning, bathroom fixtures, and lighting all worked perfectly, meeting the high standards expected of a luxury hotel. The hotel staff are highly professional. Check-in was efficient, and they were courteous and polite. Any requests or feedback were addressed very quickly. This hotel is perfectly suited for both business travelers and family vacations, offering a secure and comfortable stay. The environment, location, and exclusive experiences are all top-notch. Even without entering the Slender West Lake scenic area, staying here allows you to enjoy a private part of the lake's scenery. It offers both great value for money and a relaxing atmosphere. **I. Irreplaceable Location Advantage** The hotel is separated from Slender West Lake by a body of water and features an exclusive express通道 for guests. You don't have to queue at the main scenic area entrance; you can walk directly to the core area by the lake. Building No. 1, Shoufanyuan, where we stayed, is the closest building to Slender West Lake in the entire hotel. From the room window, you can see a small patch of lake view with weeping willows, enjoying the scenery of Slender West Lake without even leaving your room. Additionally, Building No. 1 is only a 2-minute walk from the Black Pearl-rated Qüyuan Teahouse, making it incredibly convenient to enjoy authentic Yangzhou morning tea without a long trek through the park. **II. Exclusive Features and Immersive Ambiance** 1. **Commemorative Souvenirs:** You can get exclusive hotel postcards at the front desk, and there are several spots within the garden where you can stamp them as a souvenir. You can also get a custom room key card, which makes for a meaningful travel keepsake. 2. **Explore the Expansive Gardens:** The entire guesthouse is filled with pavilions, waterside terraces, rockeries, and long corridors, with lush greenery everywhere. Every step offers a new view, and you won't get tired even after strolling for half a day. The internal scenery is as exquisite as that of paid gardens. If you get tired of walking in the vast park, you can call for a free shuttle at any time. 3. **Weekend Intangible Cultural Heritage Performances:** On weekends, there are intangible cultural heritage mini-theaters, where you can watch Yangzhou's intangible cultural heritage puppet shows and folk music performances without having to leave the hotel. **III. The space is generous, and the bedding and soft furnishings are meticulously maintained. **Sole Drawback:** The bathroom hardware has a noticeable drawback: the shower pressure is low, and the water flow is weak, making for a mediocre experience when washing hair or showering. **IV. Overall Summary** There's a good reason why Yingbinguan consistently receives rave reviews: it boasts private views of Slender West Lake, its own Black Pearl-rated morning tea, vast garden grounds, unique commemorative souvenirs, and a full range of leisure activities. If you prefer a tranquil, retro atmosphere and want to experience the quality of a traditional state guesthouse, Building No. 1 is an excellent choice. The only thing you'll need to adapt to is the low shower pressure. If you're looking for brand-new modern facilities, consider buildings No. 8 or No. 18. For our trip, having already visited Slender West Lake, staying here meant we didn't need to re-enter the scenic area. We could enjoy a comparable lake and garden experience right within the hotel, perfectly meeting our need for a relaxed vacation."

"The experience at Changzhou Wenpu Hotel was absolutely fantastic! It's located in Cultural Plaza, with grand and photogenic architecture, right next to the library and museum, creating a rich cultural atmosphere. It's also super close to Dinosaur Park, making transportation very convenient. The hotel rooms are clean and elegant, the bedding is comfortable, and the service is warm and attentive. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options. It's definitely the top choice for a trip to Changzhou!"

"The hotel's facilities are excellent. The front desk staff, particularly a young woman named Ashley, was incredibly warm and professional. She enthusiastically guided us to the guest room elevators, and even took the time to explain the hotel's layout, including the parking garage, breakfast area, and the 24-hour executive lounge. Her genuine enthusiasm and personalized service, rather than just a robotic greeting, truly impressed me and left a lasting positive impression. This level of service, characterized by genuine care and warm communication beyond mere professionalism, seems to be a consistent theme throughout the hotel. For example, the breakfast plates were warm – a rarity even in many five-star hotels in mainland China and Hong Kong, where plates are often cold. This hotel truly embodies five-star service."

"I must say I felt rather let down by this hotel. We stayed for several nights, and from the very start, the experience was underwhelming. The reception staff appeared inadequately trained – the check-in process was notably slow, and they were unable to communicate in English, which made things unnecessarily difficult. Our first room, 3618, had to be changed immediately due to a highly unpleasant odour. We were moved to a similar room, 3418, where the smell was still detectable but at least tolerable. The hotel is clearly showing its age, with worn carpets in the corridors and a general sense of tiredness in the rooms themselves. Breakfast was acceptable but nothing more – certainly not exceptional. Some items, particularly certain traditional Chinese dishes, fell short of expectations in terms of freshness and could have been much improved. By far the most disappointing aspect, however, was the appalling state of the pool changing rooms. They were dirty, disorganised, and clearly neglected, with staff who came across as quite surly and inattentive. It is a real shame that the hotel does not invest more in staff training, as the level of service simply does not match the price point. Regrettably, should we return to this city, we will almost certainly choose a different chain with better quality and higher standards. Not recommended."

"The hotel is a bit old, but the location is superb. The subway station is only 200 meters away, making it convenient to get to anywhere in Nanjing. The hotel service is top-notch, meeting five-star standards, although the facilities are a bit dated and lack smart features, like the inability to cast to the TV. However, this doesn't diminish the value of the InterContinental brand. The bathroom and amenities are thoughtfully provided. The hotel's view is unbeatable, offering a panoramic overlook of Nanjing city."

"I took my parents to Suzhou, and every year we visit Xishan Island for farm-to-table meals and scenic views. This time, I blindly booked this new guesthouse and was pleasantly surprised! Being newly opened, it was very clean and tidy. We booked four rooms in total. The hotel features smart design, comfortable rooms, and bathrooms with separate wet and dry areas (which is actually very important for a good guest experience, saving time and making things more convenient). The guesthouse has a huge common area, beautifully decorated and thoughtfully arranged, with mahjong, KTV, a cinema, billiards, a children's playground slide, game consoles, and even a laundry room. Both the elderly and children had a comfortable stay."

Opening the room door was a pleasant surprise, as we had a canal view right from the window. All the amenities demonstrated thoughtful, human-centered design. Almost all the staff we encountered during our two-day stay were polite and dedicated, making us feel right at home. We've traveled extensively and seen a lot, and it's rare to find a hotel with such well-trained staff. The hotel breakfast, as other guests mentioned, was indeed abundant and delicious. What touched us most was when our car was blocked by another guest's improper parking. After the hotel helped resolve the issue, they went above and beyond to apologize by giving our long-distance-travel-stained car a thorough wash. They even delivered the complimentary evening snacks to our room! The hotel's location is excellent, right outside Dongguan Street scenic area, where you can find everything from food to entertainment, all with a distinctive Yangzhou flavor. If we visit Yangzhou again, we will definitely choose Mercure Hotel."
