My wife and I have had the pleasure of visiting some of the best resorts in the world. But we have never had a better experience than our four days at the Surin! The location is everything as they say, situated on a private beach cove with white sand and turquoise blue water. The surf is consistent and on both ends of the cove are rocky outcroppings that create even more interest and vivid display of surf. The resort faces west and the sunsets are perfect. The resort amenities, rooms, service, food and drinks are all top-notch. Just can’t say enough about this property. It is not cheap, but as they say, you certainly get what you pay for here!

The reception is basic and run down. Initial thought embrace the jungle theme. The trek to our room was long with many steps, not the picturesque route imagined. We went through a very large run down wooden area, maybe a closed cafe. Initially the room looked perfect from the outside. When they opened the door the smell hit us, like a smoke den. So strong you could taste it. Honestly never been in a room anywhere with such a stench. Requested a move which happened promptly, not a problem. When we got to the next room the outside ashtray had been hidden under the table and the room sprayed with eucalyptus to mask the smoke. We requested to move hotels. Our agent couldn’t get us a move for two days which we agreed to. Hotel refunded agent no problem. The rooms have very dark furniture and are very dark. First night in the room I was bitten everywhere. Spent a month in Thailand and not a single bite. This was ridiculous When we met the agent in reception she commented on how many bites I had, yes from last night. The room was sprayed later that day. All our luggage ( waiting to move hotels) was moved. One bag shoved in a cupboard we didn’t know existed leading us to believe we had lost a bag. The whole experience was a nightmare. Breakfast was ok. Limited selection, cold fried eggs Coffee very good. We were shocked that this was the “rock” restaurant in the night. Thank goodness they didn’t respond to our two booking request months earlier for my hubby’s birthday, It really doesn’t deserve the hype. If you are disabled, have problems walking or children this isn’t the resort for you. Our first room had large pebbles on the floor all around the bath in the middle of the room. Not enough room to walk around them. The second room had a large shelf at the side of the bed, why? You needed to get in and out of the bed half way up to avoid knocking yourself. They did offer free evening meal at a local restaurant that they own. Food and service very good, only plus. We had come from a 5* hotel and this was supposed to be a 4.5* something very wrong with the rating system. Would never return. Hotel we moved to, same rating, fabulous! Booking again.

It's really great! I can't describe it in words. I didn't expect that my first trip to Thailand would be so perfect. It was all thanks to the boss and the boss's wife. They took us to 711 to shop as soon as we checked in, recommended a lot of very practical things, talked and drank until midnight, introduced us to all kinds of food and fun around, and took us to a seafood buffet when we were free. It was a great experience! ! They helped us contact the car rental company for travel, and the car rental boss drove the car directly to the door-to-door service. It was so convenient. I rode a scooter to visit the surrounding beaches and watch the sunset in two days! All the delicious seafood was also stored in my stomach. The hotel is very clean and the waiters are very attentive. Not only did they help us clean the house and fold the clothes neatly every time, but they also helped us put the clothes away and put them under the fan to dry them when it rained. The air conditioner was also turned on every time we returned to the room, which was really cool! There is also a special filter shower head, so there is no need to consider the water quality problem. The boss is really serving our customers very attentively, so that we can experience the best feeling in Phuket. We must stay here again next time we come to Phuket! !

The hotel is located in the middle of the mountain between Patong and Karon Beach. You must call a car or rent a motorcycle in advance. The room should be newly renovated. The staff is warm and very quiet. Each room is a separate small villa. The balcony can see the beautiful sea view. In the evening, you can see the beautiful sunset. The breakfast buffet area is a simple bread and fruit drink. Others need to be made a la carte. It is very delicious. (If the room is early, these are free). The budget is sufficient and it is recommended.

Visited HOMM Bliss in mid-May. We arrived early around 11 am and got our room around 3 pm. Checking in was easy. Pae Pae, the staff at counter, was very friendly and helpful. Bell boys and chambermaid were all friendly and helpful. Morning breakfast at 350 baht was good value - good spread of Western and Asian food with egg serving counter. Service staff at breakfast were helpful, friendly “. HOMM Bliss is right at left end of Patong beach so it’s very accessible to restaurants, bars, shops and malls . There is a 7/11 attached to hotel so good access to grocery for items you forget to bring. I got a nice seaview room at top floor overlooking the beach and beautiful sunset. Room had been renovated recently , looks decent, clean with good balcony. My only complaint about the balcony is while you have great view you can’t lock the sliding door and the partition between the rooms are very low and the balconies are very close to each other . Doesn’t give much privacy or safety feeling because the neighbours could easily jump into your room and you can’t lock it . I had a neighbour who kept smoking and talking just next door and that made me not want to stay in the otherwise nice balcony. But overall the room is very comfortable . The wardrobe is an open concept and not too big . The other small issue was the main pool was closed and we didn’t know until we checked in . We had to use the other pool on se ind floor which was decent, quiet except for one noisy family . Overall I think HOMM Bliss is good value for money . I would recommend it for those who want decent hotel and good service at reasonable price.

UPD: We Created a detailed YouTube review of the resort, demonstrating all facilities of the resort. Just Type in YouTube Search: ”Mida Grande Resort Phuket | Honest Review | Surin Beach” ______________________________________________________ Now, shortly about the place: the resort was built just before covid and it's cool, everything is so new. Also, there are plenty of facilities, gyms, a library, 6 swimming pools, a kids' room with a nanny, lounge bars, saunas, etc. BUT! The management of the hotel is not good (yet). The check-in time is constantly delayed (the official check-in is at 2 pm, but we were told to wait at least till 4 pm!). Rooms not cleaned properly. No forks/plates in the rooms with the kitchen....you have to go to reception and ask for them.
