"The atmosphere was fantastic, and they even had a campfire BBQ at night. The hotel has a kitchen, so you can buy ingredients and cook for yourself, and there's a 7-Eleven and Lawson nearby, which is really convenient for grabbing things. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, and I plan to recommend it to my friends."

"The hostel was really clean, and the beds were surprisingly spacious. Every area was spotless. The lady at the front desk was super friendly; we chatted a lot, and she even helped me plan my itinerary. She even said goodnight to me when she saw me still in the kitchen in the evening. A really great experience! 👍"

"Very good Japanese-style inn experience! Box Burger is not difficult to find using the location navigation. It is not far from the station, but it looks a bit out of the way. The hotel's own hot spring is also very comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, and the sound insulation is better than expected. The only thing is that there are not many toilets, which may be a bit inconvenient to use. And remember to try the burgers at Box Burger, they are super delicious!"

"Good for budget travelers! Highly recommended if you’re not picky and sensitive. It’s a budget hotel, you get what you pay for. The front desk is so nice, and it’s easy to check in even when you get there late at night. I arrived past 7pm and it’s still fine. Mins of walk uphill from the bus stop. Read the bus stop sign to make sure where the bus is headed, there are two stops each side of the road. I didn’t see, ram/rum the doggie 😭. During check out you don’t have to do anything, just put the use linen in the bag before leaving."

"Cómodo hostel a poca distancia de la Estación de Gora. Cálido ambiente. Con muchas áreas comunes para distintos gustos y necesidades. El hostel en general estaba limpio. Pero la habitación tenía mal olor. Si bien, el hostel estaba bien para la categoría de lo que es, resultó caro; es decir, no tiene buena relación calidad precio para la zona (por el mismo o menos valor, se consigue mejor nivel de alojamiento, con onsen (hot springs) y spa en ellos"

"Really enjoyed my stay at Root Hakone. I reached a little late (around 7:30-8pm) and the walk to the hostel was a little dark (roads on Hakone aren’t that well-lit at night due to it being a forested area). So recommend to reach earlier if you’re not that comfortable with walking in the dark alone! The accommodations were comfortable, single futon bed with lockable room doors, separated by a divider. Was initially expecting just a cubbie with a curtain so this was a pleasant surprise. There’s also a direct bus nearby to Togendai Station if you’re keen to take the sightseeing cruise and ropeway. The drinks made by the staff were also wonderful, enjoyed a cassis soda, cassis oolong and fuzzy navel at a great price. The management also gave a guide of nearby recommended places to travellers too (had the best coffee at Amaze Coffee, recommendation of the staff)! Overall would come back to stay again if I’m ever back in Hakone. A downside is perhaps the lack of availability of food options at night and no near konbini so be sure to grab some supplies at the station prior to heading over."

"It is much more convenient to stay in the mountains when visiting Hakone, because there are so many attractions that one day is really not enough. The B&B is at Sengoroumae Station of the bus, and it is very convenient to go to Togendai Station to take the cable car and the pirate ship. There is a whole family nearby, the owner The attitude of this hotel is very good, and the hot spring experience is great. There are indoor and outdoor hot springs, and you can also book a nearby restaurant. It is very close to the forest of sculptures and the nearby hillside with a large reed."
