Honestly, there was really nothing I liked about this hotel. The location was good for visiting my son at St. Mary’s, and the staff member that checked me in was friendly. Otherwise, this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Don’t let the pictures of the room fool you. The staff was unbelievably rude, there were a LOT of broken things in my room, the bed was so bad I may as well have slept on the floor, there were hairs imbedded in the sheets, and the toilet paper was like sandpaper. I’ve been an airline pilot for 20+ yrs, so I’ve stayed at a LOT of crappy hotels, this was one of the worst ever. I arrived at 2pm, there were barely any cars in the lot. I was told no rooms were available, I had to wait til 3pm. I later learned that this hotels policy is to not allow early check in’s or late checkout’s. I sat in my car until my room was ready. Upon checkin, I was read a 5 minute list of rules and restrictions. I felt like I was at a hostel, NOT a hotel. I get to my room, start unpacking, notice that there are zero dishes of any kind actually IN the kitchen, you have to call for a ‘welcome kit’ if you want them. Then I pull the curtain closed and the entire curtain rod fell off onto my head, slicing my scalp open. I call the front desk and was told maintenance wouldn’t get there for 5 more hours, and the fix itself would take at least an hour. The phone was not working properly, so I could barely understand what the staff was saying, and they either didn’t hear me when I said my head was bleeding, or they didn’t care. I told them to not bother with maintenance. I regretted that decision a couple of hours later when it was dark out, and suddenly a massive spotlight turned on, aimed directly in my room. The bed was so uncomfortable and hard, that after laying down for less than 6 hours, my entire body hurt. After little sleep, I called the front desk at 4:15am asking for a late checkout and was told that only the manager could approve this, to call back at 7:10am. I called at 7:07am, the manager VERY rudely told me that ‘many people’ had already asked for one, and I couldn’t have one. She hung up on me before I got a word out. This is when I called downstairs (on my own phone because the hotel phone was now completely broken!)…at this point I called back and went OFF. No sleep, pain everywhere, she finally gave me an extra hour. Around 9am’ish I had just finally started falling asleep, and the maid starts knocking on the door VERY loudly, I said ‘Hold on a minute!’, and she just keyed right in and hit the slam lock. Checkout isn’t normally til 11am and they DONT have the signs for the door that ask for privacy, so this was beyond obnoxious. At this point, I had had enough, I quickly packed and went to checkout. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t charged for all of the broken things, so I told the manager, She was very rude and rolled her eyes at me when I told her what was broken. Never again!!!
