Hotel Iwatoya

A hotel near Yan Hot Spring, In winter, the snow only reaches Golden Soup. The hotel is full of Japanese hot spring hotel style The hot spring is very comfortable, but in winter the open-air bath only sees a wall of snow. There are 24-hour vending machines and microwaves The most heart-warming day was driving relatively late The boss lady was very concerned and looked relieved when she saw me coming. Very attentive reception, She also speaks good English, so even if she’s not familiar with Japanese, she doesn’t have to worry about communication difficulties. Please note that it will be closed at night. If you come home late at night, please let the hostess know. In addition, there is no parking space in the store. Your car must be parked in the bus station parking lot more than 100 meters away. There is no elevator, so be careful when carrying large luggage.

Had a good experience in the hotel -- we snowboarded during our stay and the room was large enough to unpack our gear and get out quick! The drying area was near the exit, so we didn't have to go through unnecessary flights of stairs. The room isn't the most well-maintained room, but I usually get allergic to tatami mat dust and I didn't get a single allergic reaction during my stay. Slept like a log. Also the front desk was amazing -- Nim, thank you! The owner also personally escorted our car to safety as we stupidly used a non-4wd to a ski resort. Thanks Regan. The hotel isn't perfect -- it needs a bit more polish, but a few tweaks like improving the wifi signal and hiring more service-oriented personnel would improve the hotel by leaps and bounds.

Outstanding memorable stay. Onsen is lovely, with delightful amenities. Open overnight, it offers a great respite soak after a long day of ski. It is within a 10min walk to the ski lifts (with 3 kids along) and <5min to main street where everything is. Pacing expectations that this is a traditional older establishment, the rooms were very warm, clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast spread was thoughtful and accommodated a variety of preferences. There is a huge bar, warm fireplace and spacious sitting area. Meiko and the other older lady personify the image of gracious, sincere and traditional service where they know your needs and bring heart into what they serve. A causal enquiry led to phone calls, reservations and a very last min cake. Upon hearing the kids were unwell, they offered warm food and even brought them up to our rooms. Very much like how a thoughtful and loving grandparent would during stayovers. Dinner with reservations was a delightful and amazing spread. Home brewed plum wine is a must! This winter was cold and blizzardy. But this place filled our hearts over the week with comforts of home, gentle warmth and impeccable service. a sincerity that will follow us for many seasons to come. It has been our privilege to stay here. Thank you.

Very pleasantly surprised, each room has a separate floor heating, warm but not dry, the room is very new, there is a special ski drying room and waxing place, very professional, the hotel is a few minutes drive from the spot tail snow field, the hotel has a free car transfer. The key boss and the proprietress are super good. The boss is Japanese but the Chinese is very good. The skiing is very good. It can take classes and do guide skiing. The proprietress is a Chinese girl. She is super hospitable and cooks good dishes. It is rare to eat Chinese taste in Japan. I am so touched, and I check out on the return trip. In the event of heavy snow delay, did not catch the plane, the proprietress remotely helped solve the problem, in short, five-star recommendation!

My family of 5 stayed here for one night. First, when I arrived at the inn, I was warmly welcomed. I was shown to my room, and when I told her I would like to know when the private bath was available, she said she would call the room to confirm. However, no matter how long I waited, the phone did not come, so I gave up and took a bath in the regular public bath. Even though I had planned to reserve a private bath for Ji****ba's room when I made the reservation, there was no confirmation at the time of reception at the beginning, and when I asked about it in the evening, I was told that there were no more free times. It was very disappointing. The meal was very filling, and the salt-grilled sea bream was the best. It was a dish with a ratio of about 8:2 between mountain and sea food. The chestnut rice came out first and I was so full that I regretted not eating the last sukiyaki, so I regretted not eating the rice while I was eating. Thank you for the meal. However, let me say one thing: I was a little surprised that the dinner menu for elementary school students was a children's lunch. Fried shrimp, fried chicken, hamburger, miso soup, and rice. The price is quite reasonable for elementary school students, so I thought that a menu with fewer items would be more of a treat for adults. The hot spring water was very hot as it was summer. It was so hot that I couldn't stay in it, but the quality of the spring water was so good that my skin became smooth. It looks like winter will be a little warmer. It was quiet and comfortable at night. When I checked out, I was told that the Niigata Discount would be applied, but I was not given enough explanation that I would have to cancel all the online payments I had made and pay on-site, so I canceled my online reservation. I was suddenly told that I would like to process the payment and repay it in cash, but since I usually use cards and electronic money, I happened to have cash on hand this time, but since the amount was the amount, I wondered if it would be enough. I was so excited. I tried to pay by card on the spot, but was told that only MasterCard could be used. Please be careful if you want to pay by card. Overall, I was satisfied with the inn, but there were a lot of things that were noticeable, and I was particularly not happy with the final checkout, so I gave it 3 stars.
