My experience at the Grand Plaza Al Madina Hotel was deeply disappointing, and I believe their entire staff, especially the front desk team, would benefit greatly from client experience training. While I understand that managing a large number of guests can be overwhelming, simple gestures like a smile or a genuine effort to assist guests can make a significant difference.
There were several issues during my stay:
* We were a group of four sharing a room, yet only two keys were provided, which had to be reprogrammed at the front desk multiple times a day.
* Room service was virtually nonexistent. Basic requests for items like toilet paper and towels were only fulfilled the following day, despite repeated follow-ups.
* The shower had no hot water, and despite the need for cost-cutting, these basics should never be compromised as they directly impact guest comfort.
* Upon check-in, our luggage was taken by staff with the assurance it would be delivered to our room. Over an hour later, we found it left unattended in the lobby.
* Lastly, running only two out of four elevators to serve hundreds of guests created unnecessary inconvenience and frustration.
These shortcomings significantly detracted from my trip to this beautiful city. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel, as there are many other options that provide a far better experience.
