I have to take issue with the horrible people below regarding this hotel. The breakfast is NOT a sugar fest it is a typical offering of some cakes etc for continental guests but there is ample fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, breads of all kind and cereal. Maybe they were looking for the full English???? The privacy issue in the bathroom is solved by pressing the button on the side which says privacy screen..... The gardens are immaculate, cactus and palms. Some rooms face the road but if you pay a bit more you have a sea view.....you also have a pool to sit by which is not by the road. Finally, if those people have stayed in two star and got better I'd like to know where. Maybe stick to all inclusive with the fry ups in a more British type location......

Just returned from a lovely, relaxing week. One of my pet hates is lack of sunbeds - this is NOT the case with this hotel! There are sunbeds galore! Whatever time of day you want one there are plenty free. Love the 3 pools all with a different vibe. The animation team worked their little socks off. Lots of activities but no pressure to join in if you didn’t want to. Yes the restaurant gets busy at times, but the staff work tirelessly to clear the tables. Plenty of food choices. The two a la cartes were good. The Asian was fantastic. Sushi to die for! The bars were well staffed. The best G&T I’ve had on holiday in YEARS! Maybe the entertainment could be improved but we didn’t really need entertaining. The rooms are huge, so clean and comfy. The shower was the most powerful one I’ve ever had in a hotel! Slept like a log. Such a comfy bed! One negative tho is the lack of tea/coffee/milk in the room. Why have a kettle? We asked at reception and in the restaurant but we couldn’t get anything to take back and use! Pointless really. But at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Yes it’s tired in places but I will 100% return and will have no qualms in recommending it to friends. Plus the weather was GLORIOUS!

I booked at the last minute and when I arrived they already had my booking and room keys ready. The hotel was conveniently located, rooms were smart and comfortable, service was friendly and efficient! I only stayed for one night but it was perfect for my needs and great for a solo traveler.

Loved our stay and would stay again without hesitation, the perfect location for us. Right on the beach and the main street towards the old town for the bars and restaurants (loads right outside). Yes the apartments are looking a little tired, but they're spotless with cleaning staff doing a great job daily. Didn't notice any sunbed issues, but to be honest we used the hotel as a base to explore the island using a hire car, so was out virtually every day till late. Parking is an issue, but managed to find a parking spot at the harbour every time and enjoyed our walks to and from the car along the front (beautiful 10 min stroll to the hotel). The hotel can be noisy from the street at night, but that's to be expected due to its location. The reception staff were always friendly and said hello and willing to give tips on parking etc (got the feeling they really wanted you to enjoy your stay with them.) If you're looking for a clean, friendly hotel either as a base or to enjoy the town, you can't go wrong with the price. 100% recommend and hopefully back soon

Background On Sunday 8/12/2024 I had cause to visit Barrhead travel outlet in the Forge Glasgow, my aim was to book a 1-week holiday, preferably in the sun. I spoke with the sales assistant and had a lengthy conversation about my ill health over a number of years including my coronary heart disease and most recently Carcer, I had let her know that as a result of my ill health it was almost 10 years since my last holiday. However, a few days prior to this I received a phone call from my Oncologist at the Beatson Glasgow to say that my most recent Cancer scans were good and there were no further signs of the Cancer, with this in mind I thought, I deserve a holiday. That said, I had stressed to the sales lady the importance I placed on hygiene, I made it clear that this was a high priority for me. As an unseasoned traveller I was being led by the descriptions of the various resorts and hotels as described by the Barrhead sales lady. One hotel that we looked at was the Monica Beach Hotel Fuerteventura, at this point I was still undecided. What persuaded me was the sales lady saying “It is a lovely hotel, I have stayed there myself, you will love it, it is a 4-star hotel”. Having now returned from holiday I wish to catalogue why I firmly believe I was mis sold this holiday. In doing so I will catalogue issues relating to hygiene, safety, maintenance, the resort, communications and much more. This resort was never suited to me, this resort is in my opinion never a 4-star hotel, and I firmly believe Barrhead Travel knew or ought have known this. In support of this claim I have included a number of images that illustrate major safety issue with fire safety equipment, run-down beat-up décor, broken or missing fixtures and fittings, tardy unwashed paintwork, and a lack of safety awareness by cleaning staff. In addition, the beach for the most part was out of reach due to steep inclines from hotel room to beach, in some areas the incline was 1 in 5, 1 in 6 gradients. During my 1 week stay I had countless phone calls from Jet 2 staff whom I found most helpful and highly professional. Safety Concerns/Maintenance One 17th December, 1 day before my return home I done a walkabout some of the hotel at 6pm with a Jet 2 member of staff by the name of Carl. I cannot commend this gentleman more highly. The walkabout took circa 1 hour 40 minutes. Safe to say that Carl was mortified at some of the thing I pointed out particularly the children’s play area where behind a 2 feet hole in a Gyprock wall there were exposed electrical wires, as well as this and in the same children’s play area there was a DB board (electrical distribution board) that DB board was 3 feet from the floor and could be accessed by anyone including a child by the simple turning of a plastic knob. Both Carl and I photographed fire safety equipment (extinguishers) that had not been serviced since 2015 and 2011, in some cases the fire extinguishers were missing. We also documented a

Just returned from a fabulous 11 night holiday. We had a room with a side sea view lovely spacious room, walk in shower (rooms with a bath also available), mini fridge, microwave, safe (extra charge). Spacious terrace with 2 chairs, table and 2 sun loungers. Always loungers around the pool. The usual suspects reserving sun beds before 9.00 despite notices. Entertainment was good and lovely lounge area. Prices for drinks very reasonable 3.50 euros for a large beer (excellent beer). We were half board and the food was delicious plenty of choice and vegetarians well catered for. The staff were very friendly. Stand out was Renata on reception who arranged for our daughter who was staying for part of our holiday to have a room near ours. The hotel is closing in the spring for refurbishment and I hope the staff get some clarity soon on what will be happening to them when it closes as it is causing them some anxiety. It was really nice to see the staff really enjoying their jobs and hope they can return when the hotel reopens. The hotel is in fabulous location just near the beach and at the quiet end of the *****. We are planning to return next October.
