"Location: The location is absolutely fantastic! Downstairs, you'll find a pedestrian street, and the Shuncheng Shopping Center is right there. There are also about half a dozen other malls nearby, making dining and getting drinks incredibly convenient. Service: The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were given a high-floor room, and the breakfast was quite good – they even provided a complimentary breakfast for our child. We didn't get a chance to try the late-night congee, but I imagine it would have been good too. Cleanliness: The cleaning staff were very enthusiastic and did a thorough and clean job. There's also a large Miniso and Mixue Ice Cream & Tea downstairs, which are always bustling with people. It's a great spot for families with kids."

"This hotel is quite good, offering excellent value for money. For just over 100 [currency, presumably CNY], they provide airport shuttle service, and even offer late-night snacks after 10 PM. Upon check-in, the front desk gives out small gifts – that crispy rice cracker (guoba) was delicious! The flower pastry (xianhuabing) was also good. The room was clean, and the hot water circulated quickly."

The hotel is new, the room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a wet/dry separation, and hot water came quickly. The front desk staff were friendly, and check-in/check-out was very efficient. They also responded promptly to any issues. The breakfast selection was comprehensive, including some local simple dishes, perfect for fueling up before heading out to explore. The whole place was quiet, not noisy at all, making it suitable for business trips or as a stopover during travel. As an international chain brand, the quality is reliable and the price is fair. "The room was incredibly spacious, and the hot water was excellent. But what I really want to highlight is the young lady working the evening shift on June 5th. Six years ago, I was just like her – young, brave, and kind. When I arrived at the hotel, I was fighting back tears, trying to hold it together after being kicked out by my ex-husband. While checking in, I asked her what I should do if I needed a late checkout. She asked me roughly what time I'd be leaving, saying she could try to arrange it for me. I said 2 PM, as my father was coming to pick me up. Without hesitation, she said, 'No problem, you can just check out promptly at 2 PM.' She didn't ask me for a good review or say anything extra. My tears immediately overflowed. I used to be a service staff member myself, and I'd encountered ladies with big bags, no home, just like me, and I'd offered them tissues to wipe their tears. Seeing how upset I was, the front desk lady came over proactively and offered to accompany me upstairs to help with my luggage. She also said I could leave anything I didn't need at the front desk, and they'd look after it. Once in my room, I looked through memories of my glorious career as a provincial hotel manager, never imagining that at 27, I'd be thrown out for dedicating myself to someone unworthy, feeling so utterly wretched, yet treated with such kindness due to various factors. I'm grateful to the young man who helped me with my luggage, and even more so to the girl who checked me in that evening. She repeatedly told me, 'If you need anything, please call the front desk.' I knew this was both concern and care. Such warmth from strangers is so rare in this** world. I used to be a hotel front desk attendant myself, constantly bowing and scraping for good reviews, being difficultly treated by many guests. I've seen all sorts of people and received so much malice from all over the world. Thank you for making my last day in Xishuangbanna, where I returned to square one with my worthless loyalty, end on such a note. My glory was forgotten, abandoned by me, but I saw so many reflections of my past self, and all of this was worth it. The staff quality at this hotel is evident in their smiling faces and caring attitudes towards everyone. They are sure to soar... Thank you to those two unnamed young ladies and the young man who carried my luggage, opened the door for me, and showed me concern. Thank you for letting me taste a piece of candy named kindness amidst my tear-soaked rice."

"We had a wonderful stay at Moonlight Courtyard Hotel during our trip to Kunming. The hotel boasts a truly unique ambiance with its beautiful and tranquil courtyard design. The moment we stepped in, we immediately felt a sense of relaxation. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, making us feel right at home. The hotel also offers a fantastic array of complimentary services, including breakfast, afternoon tea, sweet soup before bedtime, free laundry service, Chinese tea tasting, and even a Hanfu experience. While the room rate isn't the cheapest, I believe it's absolutely worth it, as they provide far more than just a place to sleep – it's a complete and thoughtfully curated experience. During our stay, I wasn't feeling very well, so having such a quiet and comfortable environment to rest in was incredibly important to me. The staff's concern and care truly made me feel comforted and supported. The hotel's location is also very convenient, being close to Nanping Pedestrian Street, Jinma Biji Archway, and Kunming Old Street, making it easy to get around and find places to eat. Thank you to the entire hotel team for your care these past few days. I would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Kunming and would highly recommend it to friends who appreciate a charming courtyard style and a thoughtful accommodation experience."

Our 'butler service' means you get a dedicated butler providing one-on-one service from the moment you check in. They'll contact you in advance to confirm your arrival time, arrange shuttle pick-up, and send friendly reminders about breakfast times and other important notes via group chat. Facilities: The hairdryer's airflow is really weak, not even as strong as the wind off Erhai Lake! The bedside lamp isn't working, but everything else is okay. Cleanliness: Clean, tidy, and no strange smells – pretty good. Environment: The space is large and bright. My only complaint is the view from the window isn't great. Service: The service is excellent; anything we needed was delivered to the room very quickly, and the breakfast tasted good. Honestly, the view from the guest room window is quite disappointing.

I recently stayed at this brand-new hotel (opened in 2024), and it was such a nice experience. If you want a place with lots of extras, this is it. They have two pool tables, a small rooftop pool, and two gyms—one for yoga and Pilates with all the equipment, and another with treadmills, bikes, free weights, and even a Smith machine. There’s also a laundry room with washers, which was really handy. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, but you’ll want to arrive early to get the best selection. The staff were all very friendly, but Fei Xiu (绯袖) on WeChat was especially helpful—she answered all my questions quickly and made everything easy. The location isn’t right on the riverbank near the Starlight Market, but it’s not far from tourist spots either. It’s actually in a good spot if you want a quieter stay while still being close enough to everything. If you’re looking for a modern, well-equipped hotel with great service, I’d definitely recommend this one!

This hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Dukezong Ancient Town. Its Wabi-sabi style decor is tasteful and chic, and the quality truly rivals hotels that cost 2,000 RMB a night. This Mingyu Licheng Ademan Hotel in Banna was such a pleasant surprise! It's full of Southeast Asian charm, surrounded by lush rainforest greenery, and the pool light show creates an incredible atmosphere. The room was spacious and smart, with a Dyson hairdryer and Atelier Cologne toiletries, which really elevated the experience. The balcony offered a super relaxing view. The butler service was attentive, and they even offered pick-up and drop-off. The Dai-style rice noodles for breakfast were amazing. We had the best stay at MuKa Pastoral Manor during our Yunnan trip. The property has a true resort-like atmosphere, complemented by exceptional butler service. Upon check-in, we were added to a dedicated WeChat group with the hotel team. Since there is no telephone in the room, guests can simply send any request or question via WeChat, and the staff respond almost instantly. The hotel also uses the group chat to share daily reminders about breakfast hours, afternoon tea, the complimentary photoshoot, tea sessions, and the nightly bonfire activities. It made communication very convenient and personalized. One experience that really impressed us was when we had to leave before breakfast hours for an early sightseeing trip. We asked if they could prepare something simple for us, and they thoughtfully packed bread, boiled eggs, milk, and local snacks. It was an unexpected gesture that we truly appreciated. We stayed in a Level 2 duplex-style room with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, making it perfect for a family or a group of four. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with an oxygen supply system and a dehumidifier. The butler also took the initiative to explain how to use the oxygen system and shared useful advice on managing altitude sickness, especially after learning about our previous and upcoming destinations. The afternoon tea and nightly bonfire experience are held on Level 5, which also features a cozy mini library. While most of the books are in Chinese, guests are free to browse and enjoy the space. We particularly enjoyed the traditional yak butter tea experience around the bonfire in the evening. Although the property is located about 20 minutes by Didi from Shangri-La Ancient Town, transportation is very convenient and ride-hailing services are readily available. The hotel also provides complimentary transfers to and from Shangri-La Railway Station, which was a nice added benefit. What truly sets MuKa Pastoral Manor apart is its outstanding hospitality and beautiful natural surroundings. The farm, courtyard, and open spaces create a peaceful retreat close to nature. My favorite part was waking up each morning to breathtaking views of Shika Snow Mountain (石卡雪山) right outside the window. Overall, this was one of the most memorable stays of our trip. Between the attentive service, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and stunning scenery, I would highly recommend MuKa Pastoral Manor to anyone visiting Shangri-La. I speak highly of the place, but if there is one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast selection. Given the overall standard and level of service they provide, I would have expected a slightly higher-quality breakfast offering. It felt somewhat underwhelming, with very basic Western options (bread, egg, jam) and Asian offerings (Mi Xian), along with milk, coffee, and juice. The juice also did not seem freshly prepared, but rather packaged.

I had such a wonderful stay at Lisiman in Shangri-La, and honestly, it was much more than just a hotel stay. Even before my arrival, the Lisiman team had already created a dedicated WeChat housekeeping group and assigned me a one-to-one butler, Maike, to assist me with anything I needed throughout my stay. As someone travelling solo in China who basically only knew how to say “ni hao” and “xie xie,” this was incredibly helpful! 😆 The language barrier was never really an issue because whenever I needed something, I could simply send a message in the WeChat group and Maike would help or bring it over. The other housekeepers in the group were equally attentive. Alan, Maike would send reminders for breakfast, remind me to collect the complimentary soup, and make sure I didn’t miss the little experiences and benefits included with my stay. I was actually surprised by how many complimentary treats and services were included with the booking, together with the photoshoot. These thoughtful extras really added value and made me feel very well taken care of throughout my stay. Upon arrival, my room was randomly assigned among the cabin rooms and wasn’t the particular cabin with the wooden gate that I had been hoping for. Nevertheless, the room was beautiful and the view was already superb. I mentioned my preference to Maike, and this became one of the highlights of my stay — I received a complimentary upgrade to exactly the room I wanted! 🥹 I was so happy and genuinely grateful that they took my request seriously and made the effort to accommodate me. And then there is the location itself — absolutely breathtaking. Waking up surrounded by mountains and vast green grassland felt almost unreal. You don’t even need to rush out sightseeing because there is already so much to enjoy around the property. You can feed the animals, wander around the grassland, take beautiful photos, or simply sit and enjoy the scenery. There is also a lovely cabin café where you can relax while taking in the surroundings. What impressed me most was how Lisiman combines beautiful accommodation and incredible scenery with genuinely attentive hospitality. The team doesn’t just provide a room; they make sure you are comfortable and actually get to enjoy everything included in your stay. For an international solo traveller who speaks very little Chinese, I felt very comfortable and well looked after here. Thank you especially to Maike and all the housekeepers for making everything so easy for me. My only regret is that I stayed for just one night. I definitely should have stayed longer. ❤️ If I return to Shangri-La, Lisiman will absolutely be somewhere I would love to stay again.

Although Xi Shuang Ban Na UrCove claims they are a smoke-free hotel, from what I have seen this is not really true. I suggest People who are allergic to cigarette smoke or have health issues related to cigarette smoke definitely go somewhere else. I saw guests as well as hotel employees openly smoking in the front lobby of this hotel. Front desk clerks and supervisor saw this but not only said nothing to the offenders but when I complained about this, the front desk clerk ignored me and glared at me for complaining. Bedroom: very spacious and clean. beddings and sheets were very clean and comfortable. Toilet: was a very new style and with a temperature toilet seat Shower area: It was a disaster. The glass panel dividing the toilet and the shower area was poorly installed, so water from the shower area leaked everywhere. It was quite dangerous because the floor outside the shower was a smooth piece of floor tile. My wife almost slipped and fell down. We immediately told the front desk that night, and all they did was send someone to wipe up the water that's all. There was no follow-up after that. Breakfast: This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever been to regarding breakfast. The majority of the breakfast items were Chinese food which I have no complaints about, although I do not eat Chinese breakfast. The biggest problem was, when we went for breakfast after 9:15 am there were lots of emptied food containers and plates which was used to hold breakfast food items. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:00 am. 9:15 am NO croissant, Not even a simple slice of bread which I can make toast with. I also checked the Chinese food items and lots of containers were emptied as well. I then went to ask a staff where I could at least get a piece of bread. Her answer was, there isn't anymore sliced bread and what you see is what you get. There was hardly anything to eat?!?!?! I was furious and I demanded to have a couple of pieces of sliced bread. In the end, kitchen staff Mr. Wang came to my rescue and cooked me and my wife each two fried eggs. On top of it, Mr. Wang went out to get me sliced bread from outside the hotel so that my wife will at least have something to eat for breakfast. On the second day of breakfast, there was no coffee after 9:15 am as the coffee machine went into cleaning mode for at least half an hour. The chief of Chef did end up helping me to get a cup of coffee but from what I can see, this hotel is NOT ready to receive international guests. Totally disappointed in the Urcove Xi Shuang Ban Na. Totally not the Hyatt standard at all. I really believe Hyatt management in Texas really should not take the risk of damaging their great brand by letting this hotel be branded with Hyatt's Name.  The way this Xi Shuang Ban Na Urcove is operating, they are worse than locally managed/owned hotels.

When I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

I highly recommend staying at Yundu in Lijiang! This was by far the best accommodation of my entire trip. The room offered a direct view of the snow-capped mountains, allowing me to wake up and enjoy the sunrise illuminating the golden peaks without having to rush out for sightseeing. It was incredibly comfortable and rejuvenating. The butler team provided exceptionally detailed service, handling everything from transportation and room upgrades to custom breakfast requests – their attentiveness exceeded expectations. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, with excellent coffee and fruity flavors, making for a fantastic overall dining and living experience. The guesthouse is conveniently located for easy access to and from both ancient towns. It's quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of the old city. Every day felt relaxed and pleasant. This is a treasure of a guesthouse, allowing you to shed your fatigue and peacefully gaze at the snow-capped mountains. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Lijiang.

I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel's overall environment was clean and elegant. The room was spacious, and the cleanliness was meticulous. Facilities like the bathroom and appliances were in good working order and provided a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and gentle, check-in and check-out were efficient, and communication was smooth when issues arose. The surrounding area has convenient transportation, making dining and getting around effortless. The guest room area was quiet at night, allowing for good rest. Overall, there were no disappointments; everything exceeded expectations, and the price was reasonable. It was a very pleasant accommodation experience. I will definitely book here again if I return to the area and would recommend it to friends traveling here.
