The hotel was a bit dated but the rooms were large and comfortable. There was an issue with water pressure during my stay, and they had made ample announcements around the hotel. The breakfast buffet was SO busy and most things were empty around 9am already, I ultimately decided to skip the included breakfast and get something to eat outside of the hotel. The location was fantastic and the sea view from the rooms are unbeatable. A great sunset view!

I was surprised when I saw this hotel is rated as 2 stars in google. Like whatt? This hotel should be rated as 3 to 4 stars bcs the hotel services are the best. The hotel building is also huge. Perfect for staycation! Highlights: Friendly staff and efficient check in process. The front office staff explained very clearly about the hotel facilities. Good job! Spacious and clean room, modern room design, Smart Tv included, great ambience, free & fast wifi connection. I loveee the free breakfast and I’m a huge coffee lover, I like that there is a coffee maker, very convenient. The croissant is also amazing! I love all the food here 👍 Overall, well done Holiday Inn Express KK! Thank you for your amazing 5 star hospitality services. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently stayed at The Shore Hotel in Sabah and would like to share my experience.
The view superb. Have a kitchen and good location.
While the location was convenient, I noticed several areas for improvement:
1. Bathroom Amenities: It was surprising to find no dustbin in the bathroom, which made it inconvenient to dispose of small waste.
2. Elevator Efficiency: The elevator was extremely slow and stopped at every level, causing unnecessary delays. During peak hours, it was also overcrowded and had an unpleasant smell, which made the experience uncomfortable.
I hope the management can address these issues to enhance the overall guest experience. Thank you.

Purposely pick at the sea view room for the stay. It did not disappoint me. The room is okay, as we mostly spend our time outside more than in the room. Just during sleeping, there is a loud noise coming from above which affected our sleep. Which we couldn’t rest well but overall is okay. The host is kind and try to help. Thank you

The hotel location is very strategic, near to famous attractions, eateries and malls in KK city and also they have 24hr front desk which is a huge bonus, overall the room is good but the water heater is a bit unstable and got a few times of power-trip
PROS
♡ The apartment is fully-furnished and was quite comfy for my family.
♡ Various eating outlets around the apartment building.
♡ Imago shopping mall is just opposite from the building (can use overpass/jejantas).
♡ Love the view from the swimming pool.
♡ Good WiFi network.
CONS
❗️ Key box was hard to identify because of the small letters and different colour from the other boxes.
❗️ The manual given was incomplete- there was no mention of the apartment door lock which need heat to be activated.
❗️ The contact no. on this app cannot be contacted, so I had to Google it.
❗️ The parking lot is very confusing (even for the security guards).
❗️ Security guards were incompetent. They need to be trained properly on the layout of the building.
❗️ Sinks were not installed properly which lead to minor flooding in the washroom & the kitchen.
❗️ The beddings were not clean enough for my sister who has a very sensitive skin since she got bedbugs after sleeping there.
❗️ Water leaked from the aircond above the TV, so we had to turn it off to prevent electric shock & TV malfunction.

Front desk service is best, friendly with most smiling face, always greeting and friendly chat to customer, bedding matters a bit soft and some spring is not well in condition, but ovell room amenities is good. However, I really wondered why a 5 stars Hotel the restaurant all size plate, bowl, even cups are so so oily, sticky, food mark, stains on almost all pieces of them, I keep on looking for more clean one but sad to said is no one is clean, really very sticky and oily, hope the restaurant can look serious on this matter, I can said I never seen such dirty plate, even I go to 2 or 3 star hotel, the plate is more clean then Le Meridien, but food and beverage is good, I love the service can custome order our favourite fresh fruit juice and coffee

The only hotel in DesignHotelsTM group in Borneo island! The lobby and room design, coffee, cocktail and food quality is probably the best you'll find in Sabah and its at par with Singapore standards. The hotel doesn't just give you the environment of a design hotel, great coffee, bespoke cocktails, delicious food but it also offers true Sabahian hospitality that you will not experience anywhere else. As soon as I arrived, one of the hotel owners personally came and greeted me and spend his time to give me a tour and explain the concept of the hotel and its design. The design of the hotel is influenced by different Sabahian landscapes and local craftsmanship depicted through contemporary means. Materials and craft is all sourced locally. I had the chance to meet both the owners and their hospitality was unprecedented. They took their time to get to know me and introduce Sabah and its culture. Something that you will not experience at big chain hotels. The LUMA is a brand new hotel group. There will always be room for improvement in their services. The willingness to improve is there and they listen if you have any complaints or needs.

The receptionist who check me in was very helpful. The room perfect. Hot water is good, room is very spacefull and stunning. The decorations are just perfect, migh be Merry Chritsmas is coming. Just next time, maybe i will stay sea view. Better as have great view of KK ocean view.

GGuest User1. I chose the hotel for a business trip via *********** as the budget allowed was quite low. The hotel received a quite high rating on the platform. 2. The rate was around RM200 per night, which was amazing considering it was a school holiday season. All other branded or chain hotels had a rate reaching RM700 to RM1k, which was atrocious but they were all 4-star and 5-star. 3. The hotel is located very close to the city centre. The landmark is Plaza Shell, which is the opposite of a roundabout. 4. The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre. There are many eateries and shops around the vicinity, which helps if you don’t have any private transportation. 5. I checked in around 3:30 PM, right after landing in KK. The hotel staff helped me find a parking spot at the roadside. There are no dedicated parking spots at the hotel. Parking is at the roadside, and you are subjected to the parking rate by the municipality (KK City Hall). 6. I learned this the hard way — via a parking fine. It would be great if the hotel staff informed me about this. 7. The check-in process was smooth. I was given a room on the 4th floor. The trees block the view of the city. If you want the city view, you need to request a higher floor (8th floor and above). I was glad I didn’t request for a higher floor. More about it below. 8. The staff were friendly. They greeted me with smiles everywhere which made me feel welcome. 9. There are a couple of elevators. Only one lift required card access. This was a security issue. 10. The lobby was small but clean. The lift lobby is a few steps higher. The AC vent produced condensation, forcing the hotel staff to put a rag and wet floor signage most of the time I stayed there. 11. The room was quite small but beautiful. Spaces were utilised efficiently. There was no centralised AC, only a split unit, but it was powerful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The colour scheme used green and goldish brown, resembling Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown KL. 12. The bathroom was small, but the amenities were quite good and paraben-free. I noticed that the shower area was mouldy. I told the reception about it, and Housekeeping scrubbed the bathroom clean. 13. The TV has all the local TV channels plus a few cable channels. It is a smart TV, but the response is slow. 14. Breakfast is at the hotel’s restaurant on Level 1. Due to the small space, there were two sections of the restaurant. However, the kitchen and buffet line is only on one side. You have to present your breakfast buffet coupon to have your meals. 15. The buffet spread did not offer many choices, but the foods were made fresh. The staff was around 5-6 people each time, and they were active and busy ensuring the tables were clean and food and cutlery were replenished. They used Sabah tea, a local product. There was no juice, only cordials. 16. On days 2 to 4 of my stay, one of the lifts broke down. This significantly increased waiting time, especially during breakfast. I

东东南西北中Excellent location with many shops around. The busiest mall, Imago shopping mall is just a 10-minute walk. The hotel is equipped with a shared kitchen, washer and dryer. The room is clean. Check-in and out is easy with the instructions given.
