Tara Lodge Haven of Peace

This place is divine. Very small (I think only 8 rooms) and no it’s not on the waterside (but that’s a good thing). This place is about a 15 min walk to the crab market, 10 min to the national park, 10 min walk to sailing club … note there is no “town” as such so don’t look for being “in town”. For westerners there is no 711 or shopping street. It’s just one big food stalls and hammocks. But Tara lodge is unique. Beautiful pool, huge rooms, amazing restaurant and the staff (Jim especially) cannot do enough for you. We were here for 2 nights and we were the only guests (Cambodian election). We are in our 60’s from Australia and we walked 8km or more around Kep national park. There is a “convenience” store at end of the street which sells everything but the wine and beer at the hotel was great. Food was divine. The chocolate fondue… don’t share! 😀

I went to the White Horse several times and finally lived in this house. I really didn't feel disappointed. Go out to see the sea, the room can also see the sea, go out and turn right next to the canteen for 2 minutes, and the cake shop can have breakfast.
Q Bungalows

We stayed in a Khmer type bungalow, it was more of a camping type. No furniture to even put our bags on, a bed, a shelf, a fan and a mosquito net that's all you'll get for $20 in cash 😏. No sanitary facilities in the bungalow and what's more, the common sanitary facilities were dirty, we had to clean them to be able to use them. If you rent a scooter it's $7 instead of $5 elsewhere. The place is not maintained, burnt out bulbs in the paths not replaced, a shame because the park and the swimming pool are all the charm of this place. For this same price you will obtain, next door, a top comfort bungalow with beautiful bathroom, air conditioning, hammock on the bungalow terrace and magnificent swimming pool with sea view and $5 per scooter.
Riviera Hotel & Resort Kep

We 100% recommend! We stayed here 2 nights from August 31, 2019 to September 2, 2019. Very nice place, well located in Kep (<10mn from Crabs' market with tuk-tuk, <5mn from Rabbit's island departure pier). The owners are French (so are we!) and so kind. The hotel is very recent (built a couple of years ago), small (8 rooms) so intimate, the all rooms are very pleasant, each one with its unique decoration, with very nice material. Finishings are state-of-the-art, it is obvious the owners built this place working hard and paid attention to every detail. The garden (with a large and beautiful pool) is particularly oustanding and well-tended. We loved this place and will definitely come back!
Raingsey Bungalow

Five star service, four star comfort at three star prices - you really can’t go wrong. Located barely a five minute walk up from the crab market and on a quiet hillside road, you really any do much better location-wise either. Marie is a fabulous host; the chalets are comfortable and the F&B offering is superb, most especially breakfast which is taken upstairs with a sea-view. A great boutique resort and one of Kep’s best - regardless of your budget.
Sangkahak Mith Hotel

A large hotel with not much around it. The staff were helpful and friendly and the Manager spoke good English. The swimming is large, clean and we give it 10/10! The room was spacious and clean. The only downside really was the fact that it was very quiet with only 5 rooms out of a possible 80 were booked during our overnight stay. We only used the hotel for one night as crossing over into Vietnam the following day. As other reviews have said the restaurant does have a canteen feel, unfortunately we were the only ones in it, it the food we had was ok. We feel a bar/lounge would be a welcome and warm addition, although you could order from the restaurant but it lacked in atmosphere. We would stay again if we needed a hotel when passing through Cambodia and Vietnam.
