Recommend if you are looking for a clean and quality place to stay and are a budget traveller. This yha has a very high standard compared to others. It is more like a youth hotel with bunk beds rather than a backpackers place. You also meet travellers of all ages, families and youth groups around the place. The rooms are super tidy and serviced daily, spacious luggage lockers that fit a large suitcase (fantastic!) and are light filled with aircon or windows to be opened. The kitchen is very big, nice rooftop terrace with city views and pool area. Tv lounge and soon it’s own co working hub which I think is a great addition to the concept. Free luggage storage for guests and friendly and helpful staff.

Awful, there isn’t any other way to describe it. Do not stay here, everything is completely run down. No maintenance at all the place hasn’t ever seen a paint brush. Checked in then checked out within 10 mins, made sure I got a refund, the managed (presume) I dealt with -completely understood and couldn’t give me my money back any quicker. On arrival I could see the kitchen was filthy and small, upon walking to my room I was confronted with a man that had thrown up in his top and was holding it in his T-shirt while walking down the stairs. (15:20) Arrived to my ‘box room’ it was a complete state, curtains are stained and don’t cover the windows, the ceiling fan was clinking and clanging and on the verge of coming off. Aircon was non existent, also extremely loud. I can safely say I didn’t bother even entering the showers or toilet faculties- I think that was for the best. Just another hostel that doesn’t care about it’s clients literally just offering a bed to stay for a night and taking your money. Hostel selina , 200 meters round the corner isn't even comparable to this place so don’t waste your money on summer house and go hostel selina. Please find below photo of the -‘holes in the roof, covered by perspex’ covered with dirt above -Stained curtains

I think this is not bad. There are many people next to it. Most people will choose yha. I didn't have a room at the time, so I set a very close, 50 meters, less than 1 minute walk. I decided to stay in the quadruple room for only one day. I feel good. The front desk lady is quite good. There is a bar with an open-air balcony swimming pool. The open-air balcony here can find Brisbane free Wi-Fi. The speed is super fast. This is very Satisfied a little downloaded 5 episodes, we can reach a distance of up to 8m per second. It’s too cool. After going to yha, I can’t search for it. The price may be cheaper.

I loved this small boutique hotel! Location was excellent, walking distance to supermarket and two great restaurant precincts. It’s a solid walk into Brisbane city but a pretty one and let me see another side of Brisbane that I actually preferred. Service was good, secure and comfortable building. Rooms are a little dated but well appointed. There is parking out the front to unload your bags and overnight but no car park within the hotel building. Having said that, you do t need a car in this location- leave it behind!!

Staying at this Magnificent Old Age Hotel has so much character. The Rooms are more than Comfortable and Completely met or needs through a recovery stage. The Public Bar has such a great feel to it and the Restaurant has meals to die for. I will miss my Mash Potatoe and Double serving of gravy. The Bar Staff kept the drinks coming and the Restaurant Staff kept the Mash Potatoe coming, even before I requested it. Kayla is a Beautiful, Caring Soul that went out of her way to be there to keep on top of all the staff, making our Experience Personal and Enjoyable. But there is One Young Lady ” Emma” who stole my little heart with her Sweet, happy disposition and willingness to help all and put smile on all customers faces. I wish I had of read these reviews prior to booking a room. I wanted something close to the airport and at last minute this was all that was left. I don't consider $148 a cheap room for 1 night, a shared backpackers room would of been cleaner. I got a text after booking and paying asking me to enter more details again including credit card, it said to upload a photo, didn't say upload your licence so therefor never sent the room code, when I rang I got a lady I could not understand who explained I didn't need to worry because I could do it at reception, when we arrived at reception the lady told me I MUST DO IT OR I CAN'T STAY!! 1hr later and 2 others in reception having the same issues we were given a room code, the room smelt like a dead wet dog, we were on ground level the curtain was see through and didn't block any of the elements out, the shower was that small you could only fit in one leg at a time.... prior to arriving I asked if they had a laundry on site I was told yes to only be told once checked in the washing machine is broken.. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

Close to the airport, easy to find. Had no trouble with train noises once asleep. Room was clean as well as the bathroom. On the negative and really not that big a deal is that the undercover parking is limited and spaces not very big. Also Watch the bottom step in the dark. Miss stepped going down at 4.30am as I didn't see the bottom step and landed on my knees. Could do with a bit more lighting at the bottom of the stair.

They have everything you could need for a few nights stay. It has a kettle, toaster, microwave, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, cutlery and crockery. The queen size bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. Excellent shower pressure with a big shower head. A comfortable lounge, a nice tv on the wall and an air conditioner which was more difficult to use than just pressing the on/off button unfortunately but we managed. We had a room at the front of the motel, on the road side but we had no problem falling asleep...noise was not an issue. It is an older motel and has keyed locks instead of key cards but both the rooms and the building are secure and we felt very safe staying there. The free, unsecured wifi is acceptable but not always reliable. Still, better than some places we’ve stayed. They have a great folder in the room that has some information about local places to eat-in, take-away or get delivered...very helpful. All of the staff we met, including a housekeeper who we asked for help with the A/C were very friendly and accommodating. I couldn’t ask for anything better at a surprisingly modest daily rate. We would definitely stay again.

They are all good, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. have to be aware of is: The distance from the airport still requires a taxi Only appointments to the airport, no pick-up, and reservations basically do not accept temporary changes. It ’s not a scheduled shuttle bus, but it ’s actually scheduled for you. If you need sensitive sleep

GGuest UserThe room was very clean and the bed in the standard room was two single beds of about 90 cm. The hotel may be an old couple. The people are very kind and kind. I booked the accommodation there because I was two big and two small on the second day of the plane. The hostess took me to the room and told me that the bed might not sleep, but if I don’t mind, she also allows me to stay. And told me that there were extra blankets and pillows that allowed us to sleep on the carpet. We left the hotel at 3:30 in the morning, so just a few people would be one night. Daddy sleeps on the carpet, but it is very comfortable and there is nothing bad. Thank you very much for the warm reception of the store. I was afraid we didn't have enough water to provide us with drinking water and sent me chocolate. Thank you very much.

GGuest UserStayed overnight in the Brisbane quarters after having to make a last minute booking and being faced with limited accomodation options. I think this place is trying to promote itself as a hybrid hostel/hotel. However having stayed there it’s clearly the former rather than the later. There is of course, nothing wrong with that - but I think it’s been a source of some confusion and previous negative reviews. On the plus side the staff were really friendly, the location was central and the private room we stayed in was fine - with TV (with Netflix), a clean private bathroom, small bar fridge and comfortable bed. It had a compact infinity pool, small kitchen and fitness space (very limited though). It looked recently renovated. Breakfast was included but for memory this was just cereal and toast. On the negative side - it is a hostel. This isn’t really clear on TripAdvisor for some reason. Anyone >40 years of age will feel like a dinosaur here. It carries all the traditional tells of a hostel - you get your towel assigned at reception, it’s noisy and the sheets are a bit threadbare. They will ask for your passport or drivers licence as your form of ID. Overall it’s a great option if you know what you’re in for. I think the private rooms are only worth it if they are priced around 100 dollars or less as there are usually plenty of hotels around that 150-200 mark.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in an area surrounded by bars so perfect for someone who wants to party. A long walk to the centre and a 5 minute walk to Fortitude Valley station. The reception area and very large kitchen are always spotlessly clean. I was in an 8 bed dorm which had a large table island in the middle of the room with individual open cupboards. Not big enough for anyone’s bag to fit in though. The room became extremely messy as people couldn’t store bags and suitcases and we are all very trusting leaving our belongings inside these open cupboard spaces. The hostel does provide each person with a small safe above said open cupboard. 1 separate toilet and 1 separate shower in the room for all 8 people. Very frustrating! Other than that, the bed was comfortable.

GGuest UserRoom 13 - yea shall I say no more room 13 and it’s not great!! Bad points- No manned reception, was advised 3 hours before arrival must precheck in or will be denied a room after I fully paid for all rooms are pin only. I don’t have a problem great idea. The beds are one of the worst I’ve ever slept in. I travel to some of the worst places and there are beds better then these the main bed springs felt like they were breaking through the bed every turn was the noisiest would wake everyone in the room. The mattress felt over 30 years old worn and like you would fall through it. Great grandmas mattress is better The single bed was better but 4 people can sleep in one comfortable bed No extra pillows or blankets The floor had not been vacuumed all stuff in one area of the floor - room smelt clean (spritz spray) Dust everywhere, bugs in the room and holes in the bath towels. Mould in the shower all over the door The bathroom door had to be opened and closed with force Curtains have marks all over them not clean Aircon was particularly broken more cosmetic looks, chilled amazingly The room is right next to a main door everyone that comes in or out - slams the door all hours No soft closing hinge would be good if there was one wouldn’t be woken up with the slam every-time no Foxtel - no one made up your room like other motels the next day (no big deal just an fyi) When I arrived I had a toddler, child and 2 large bags and asked if there was lifts the staff lol and said the stairs are there and stayed sitting on the ground. I walked up the exit car park ramp with all bags and children ( no I’m not precious just not convenient) Holes in the wall in the main room near dining table Holes in walls in the bathroom Good points…. Great price Great location walking distance to Hamilton precinct IGA, Woolworths metro, lots of eateries and Eat St (amazing place of all types of food vans) Great distance walking distance to the ferries Out dates Furniture looked like it was from the 1970s (I don’t have an issue just an FYI) A little bar fridge with separate freezer was amazingly cold I wouldn’t rate this place 3.5/4 stars maybe 2.5-3 disappointed but you get what you pay for. I have some photos for proof of asked to supply .

GGuest UserPaid for an upgrade to a room at the back after reading reviews describing noise levels. Glad we did because this motel fronts a busy motorway and still traffic noise at a bearable level from back row room. Room was large and very clean although 2 small living cockroaches in bathroom. Husband found bed to be perfect but I had trouble sleeping on it. You can’t please everyone. When we arrived around 5pm the main door to the office was locked but a fellow, either a customer or worker was sitting on a waiting area seat in the reception area and told me the manager was not there but I could use a side door. That was no problem as within a minute or 2 the manager arrived and I told him who I was and he remembered I had called an hour before to check on the availability of a suite rather than a room. Only thing that stopped me short of giving 5 stars was the manager’s apparent distain at having to serve a customer. The dear man couldn’t have looked or come across to me as more put out by having to attend my booking. He offered very little information. When I asked about the wifi password ( wifi did not work at all by the way, even with instructions ) he disinterestedly told me it’s on the back of the key. Also on the back of the key was information on what to do if the tv gives a no signal message. I don’t know why he couldn’t be bothered to explain that. So all up, he was a very poor ambassador for the motel and could easily, single handily ruined the start of someone’s vacation vibe with his “ can I just get this over and done with” vibe. I maintained my chirpy and happy disposition in the meagre attempt of cheering up this poor soul. Alas, it wasn’t to be although when I asked about distances /directions to a venue we were to attend, old mate, worker/customer was all for telling me everything I needed to know. Thank goodness I had him to share the information I needed because once that key was in my hand, Mr manager had done his part and no further talk appeared to be necessary! Maybe HE needs a holiday? Other than that, the suite was suitable for a longer stay with microwave, cooktop, kettle and mini fridge/freezer. There was adequate crockery , cutlery, pans, toaster and washing up items to be able to prepare food for 2. We only stayed the one night and did not eat dinner or breakfast from the dining room on site. I knew about the dining room from reading reviews, not Mr Manager.

GGuest UserI have stayed in other motels in the area, often because the Metropolitan was fully booked. It is a short walk to town, mostly down hill, and if I wanted to bring shopping back, can get a taxi from the city center for less than $10. I have stayed here when seeing a specialist on Wickham Terrace. Not the purpose of this trip but it is an option if that is the reason to be in Spring Hill. Parking is not guaranteed, but I never had a problem finding space. the staff are courteous and the rooms clean. Currently the restaurant is not a going concern, obvious hard to do business in lockdown(s), but there is a little cafe across the road offering Vietnamese soups and western fare. If looking for place to stay in Spring Hill. Metropolitan is excellent choice on a budget.

JJIAMIAOIt was already more than 10 o'clock in the evening. There was no front desk staff, and the room card was left in the password box. As a result, the hotel has two addresses. We found another address according to the map of the hotel. After several weeks, we found the room card. There is no service call. If you don't understand the map and instructions in English, or if you have problems with your room card, you will definitely not be able to enter the room at night. It is not too close to the airport for 30 Australian dollars. The room usually has a musty smell. Upgrade to the nearest airport, suggest picking other homes, not recommended
