"The hotel is a bit far from Pudong Airport. The shuttle to the airport runs hourly by bus, and it takes about ten minutes to get there. The hotel's hygiene and facilities are pretty good. I was given a room on the first floor, very close to the lobby, so I could just open the door in the morning and head straight to the airport shuttle bus."

2. Moderate cleanliness. There is dust on the walls and power outlets in the hostel's beds. But comfortable bed, cool air conditioning, There is an air purifier. Sufficient lighting. Clean bathroom, good water flow, hot water, soap, shampoo, hand soap, hair dryer.
3. Friendly staff, warm welcome, happy to help. Free hot and cold water dispensers available beside a check-in counter, free towels available.
## Feedback to hostel ## The power outlet on the bed is an old USB port, which does not have enough power and does not support PD, USB-C ports. It should be replaced with a universal plug. In the bathroom, the curtains on the shower are too short, not closing tightly, causing the floor to be wet. There should also be a doormat in the bathroom. On the upper bed, when someone flips over on the upper bed, there's a slight noise. Some people flip over all night. I can't sleep all night."

I had a layover in Shanghai Pudong and chose the Puding Yanxuan Hotel. From check-in to check-out, it was completely hassle-free – I absolutely have to recommend it!
The transportation is super convenient. The hotel isn't far from Pudong Airport, about a 30-minute drive. If you have an early morning flight, the front desk can even help book an airport transfer, so there's no need to stress. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride to the subway station, and from there, you can take a direct train to attractions like Lujiazui and the Bund, or head towards Hongqiao Hub, no transfers needed. There are also several bus routes nearby, making it easy to get to shopping areas and local markets. Whether you're on a tight schedule or just exploring, it's incredibly flexible.

"This is a great hotel, only about 500-600 meters from Line 12, so it's a convenient 5-minute walk. You can also take Line 9 directly from Songjiang, Shanghai (I think), but then it's a 15-minute walk to the hotel. I'd much rather transfer to Line 12 first, it's a lot more convenient.
The cleanliness is excellent; they actually changed our towels and disposable slippers every day, which was really nice of them. The towels and bath mat in the room were quite clean, so you can use them with confidence.
Most importantly, the front desk service! Whether it was the ladies or gentlemen, their service was very attentive, answering all our questions! They were very kind and friendly to introverts like me 🥹.
Since I was in Shanghai for the CPSP exhibition, I was mostly out and about, so I didn't take many pictures of the hotel room, but I did get a shot of the front desk for everyone. On a side note, there are plenty of places to eat outside, and you can also order takeout, so food is definitely not an issue!
I'll definitely stay here again next time I come to Shanghai for CP."

GGuest UserThe room was more spacious than I'd imagined, and the view from the window was quite nice, with Jing'an Temple visible in the distance. The walk-through area in the room was just wide enough to open a suitcase, leaving little extra space, but it was perfectly fine for a solo trip.
Soundproofing in the room wasn't great; noises from outside the door were quite clear (though this is a common drawback of hostels). This might be an issue for light sleepers.
Transportation is incredibly convenient, as it's only about a three-minute walk from the subway station, which really helps save on travel expenses.
**Cleanliness:** The shared bathrooms were exceptionally clean; an attendant would clean them immediately after each use, which was very reassuring.
**Service:** Upon arrival, a staff member showed me to my room and introduced the facilities. The lobby offered quite a few amenities; I recall there was an ice machine, and I even borrowed an umbrella from the front desk when it rained during my stay.
Overall, I was very satisfied and would happily choose to stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

FFaithBI had a good stay in this hotel. I almost missed finding this hotel though as it had a small entrance. The reception was ok but didn't really speak english -- had to use google translate to communicate. There was only one elevator so at times, there are wait times. I got a double room with window hoping it would be bigger but it was quite small. It's big enough for 1 person though! Although there was a window, all I can see is the wall. 🙂↕️. I'm happy they had amenities that I needed -- towels, shampoo, hair dryer! They also provide 2 bottles of water per day, which is good! The surrounding area is convenient as well as it's near a convenience store, restaurants and subway station. I would recommend this hotel for its value, cleanliness and convenience. 👍

It's located on the third floor of Jinfeng Building and is accessible via a direct elevator. I had booked a single room but was upgraded to a king-size bed. While the room wasn't large, it was very well-appointed and even included a washing machine and refrigerator. The air conditioning was very effective in the summer, and the shower had excellent water pressure. It's truly an ideal place to stay when visiting Shanghai, and most importantly, it offers great value for money. My only minor suggestion would be to either update the bath towels or provide disposable ones; this would enhance the overall experience even further.

MM319562****My stay at this hostel on Caoyang Road in Shanghai was a complete delight! As soon as I entered the room, I was impressed by how clean and tidy everything was. The bed was neatly made, the bedding smelled fresh, and the slippers were new for each guest – it felt incredibly reassuring. The common areas and bathrooms were diligently cleaned by staff daily, with attention to every detail, so even someone with germaphobia would feel completely at ease!
The hostel's ambiance is truly unique, with a charming retro-artistic decor complemented by natural, 'forest-inspired' elements, creating a lush, green oasis feel. The second-floor lounge area is fantastic; I enjoyed coffee, played cards, and chatted with new friends in such a welcoming atmosphere. The motivational quotes on the walls were a nice touch too, adding to the positive vibe.
The facilities are excellent. Each bunk has its own privacy curtain, reading light, and charging outlet, offering both privacy and convenience. There's even a sunny rooftop terrace for drying clothes, which is a thoughtful design feature.
The location is super convenient, with supermarkets and various restaurants just a short walk away. It's also close to the subway station, making it easy to get to Global Harbor or other attractions quickly. Any issues I had were resolved promptly. This was an amazing stay, and I'll definitely choose this hostel again next time I'm in Shanghai!

Staff is also really nice an attentive. Most of them don’t speak English but that’s not an issue at all in my opinion because they still try their best to communicate:)
Rooms are small but personally that didn’t bother me.
The bathroom area is constantly wet & hygiene could be better but tbh it’s difficult to maintain with so many people around. Isn’t a deal breaker for me.
There’s a cat roaming around (actually several but one more often) which was lovely :D
There are two subway stations very close to the hostel and a lawsons across the street.
Would stay here again! 🌞

It's right next to a subway station and a cultural pedestrian street, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. I even managed to get the 'and' bread there, which usually requires a long queue in my area! The butler service was very warm and helpful, answering all our questions and really valuing guests' feelings. Thumbs up!

In the first room I was given, while trying to sleep at night, there was a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke. The windows were cracked and not well sealed, which allowed smoke from outside to enter the room. Mind you that this was around 11pm when we wanted to sleep early, when there’s people 3 floors down by the roadside just casually smoking. When I contacted the front desk, the initial response was to spray air freshener. Only after I pointed out that this wouldn’t address the source of the issue was I offered a room change.
In the second room, I encountered a different issue: the shower water was not draining properly, causing it to overflow into the toilet area. The toilet section did not have a dedicated floor drain, so the water spread out toward the walkway. After reporting this, the hotel did send a plumber to fix the drainage, which I appreciated, though it was still an inconvenience during the stay.
Based on these experiences, the hotel may need to improve window sealing, smoke control, and bathroom drainage. Travelers sensitive to smoke or who expect consistent room maintenance may want to take these points into account before booking.

AAnastasia88The hotel is a great value for money. Our room was clean. We received all the necessary amenities in the room. Breakfast is Chinese style, but has plenty of options to choose from. Generally the food was good and included in the room rate. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, they fixed every issue effectively and fast enough. The location just right at the central railway station and also you can walk to the city center within 30 minutes. Very good location. I recommend this property to anyone who wants to travel around with ease. Thank you for the great stay and we will comeback soon 😊
