I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ukuthula Lodge, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hospitality was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure every aspect of my stay was perfect. The facilities were impeccably clean, adding to the overall comfort and enjoyment of my visit. The food was a highlight of the stay; each meal was delicious and beautifully presented, showcasing a wonderful variety of flavors. The attention to detail and quality in every dish truly stood out. Overall, Ukuthula Lodge exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. I look forward to my next visit!
Emhosheni River Lodge
4.7/544 Reviews
It's really our pleasure to stay at such a wonderful place for three nights. The host Dave and Leandra are treating us like family and most importantly, their warming hospitality, sweet considetation, well-knowledged in wildlife and sincere service do leave us unforgetable memory. We have been traveling to many places and staying at so-called luxury hotels, but this stay is absolutely the best we ever experienced. The location is at Great Kruger National Park which is good. If you are lucky, you can see Big Five aroud the lodge. But most of time, you can spot Giraffe, Zebra, Elephant, Hippos, Kudus, baboon and Lions... The food is way to great. We have three dinners at the lodge and I believe it's the best meal in our SA trip. Dave and his team cook for every client and the awesome view just in front of the river is unbelievable. Too good to be true! Strongly recommended and must stay when you visit Kruger NP.
Naledi Game Lodges
5/542 Reviews
I cannot praise Naledi Lodge and all their staff enough. The location is great, the accommodation extremely comfortable and the food was superb. And then, the main event - the safari- ok getting up at 5am was a slight struggle but absolutely worth it, our ranger and tracker were so skilled and knowledgeable and I always felt totally safe, even when we were very close to some very big animals. A totally unforgettable experience, and the staff are completely committed to ensuring your stay is a success. Have no hesitation in recommending Naledi to all.
Unembeza Boutique Lodge & Spa
4.6/550 Reviews
This is my 4th visit in two years and every time I have a wonderful stay. The staff are lovely, always friendly and helpful. I have stayed in 3 different types of rooms during my visits and all are beautiful, always immaculate and clean. The new manager Zeb has made some changes already including the breakfast menu which has definitely improved. This is my home from home when I'm staying in Hoedspruit and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff as always for making me so welcome and for another wonderful week at Unembeza.
Sausage Tree Safari Camp
4.9/541 Reviews
On our second visit to Sausage Tree, we were greeted like family by the owner, staff, guide and tracker. The year before, we had a lovely glamping and safari experience, so we thought we would we see the same things. Wrong! The only (delightful and delicious) consistency was the high level of service, food, and great assortment of South African gins for sundowners. This trip we learned more from our guides and trackers about animal behavior. We saw an amazing parade of wildlife starting with a pride of 12 lionesses/cubs, mother-child relationships with rhinos, hyenas, and wild dogs. Every time we climbed in to the safari jeep, we learned something new about animals and environment and saw not only a variety of wildlife and birds - but we stayed long enough to revisit prides, dens, and hunts to increase our own knowledge. The intimacy and joy at this camp safari is hard to beat.
eKhaya Bush Villa
4.3/58 Reviews
This place is South Africa's best kept secret. I have never raved about a lodge like I will about this one. Everything was great and I highly, highly recommend you stay here. Before I get to my own experience, I would advise you to forgo, at least in part, the fancy schmancy safari lodges that cost up to $1,000 a night and stay here instead because it's just as nice if not nicer and you get WAY more value for your money and can still book guided safaris from here and see all of the animals your heart desires. What's more, you are near the world's third largest canyon here with a breathtakingly beautiful boat ride. Use eKhaya Bush Villa as your base to then explore both Kruger National Park and the canyon area. Now to my individual experience. To put it mildly, my trip to both Cape Town and Johannesburg did not go well and I was at the end of my rope. I had intended to stay at eKhaya Bush Villa two nights. Those two nights turned into four because it became my oasis of tranquility and beauty. I don't know how old the place is but everything looks BRAND NEW. Claire, the owner, is a hospitality goddess. Truly. Hearing of my unpleasant experiences in Cape Town and Johannesburg, she bent over backwards to make me - and all other guests - feel at home and she helped me salvage my vacation (my experiences in Cape Town and Johannesburg were so bad I was thinking of flying home to the U.S. early). I am a HUGE fan of Claire and eKhaya and you will be too. The rooms are very spacious, the beds very comfortable, the bathrooms are very spacious, the grounds are beautiful, the food is good and the staff friendly and helpful. AND it's in a secured estate so you are 100% safe!! This was important to me after my travails elsewhere. Whether you are a single traveler like me or part of a larger group, you should know you will be both safe and at home here. I can't recommend this place enough. My only regret is that Claire and eKhaya aren't closer to me in Los Angeles. I'd stay here as often as I could! Lucky you that you will get the chance to. Enjoy!
