"One of our favourite hotel choices for a short getaway to JB! 😊 Holiday Villa is conveniently located near shopping malls, eateries and massage options, making it really convenient for a relaxing weekend trip. It’s definitely even more worth it when you manage to snag a good deal on Trip.com too! ✨ One thing to take note of if you’ve already prepaid your booking online: do double-check the charges with the front desk during check-in. In our case, we were asked to pay the tourist tax again even though we had already paid it online. A deposit is understandable, but it’s worth checking to make sure you’re not paying the same charge twice. For the bathroom, our room had a handheld shower attached to the bathtub, so showering meant having to stand in the bathtub. We noticed that quite a bit of water could spill onto the bathroom floor, and there didn’t seem to be a proper floor trap to drain it quickly. It may be useful to request a few extra floor towels to help absorb the water and keep the floor dry. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely consider Holiday Villa again for a convenient JB weekend getaway! 🌴✨"

"Located at the CIQ (Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine) checkpoint, there are three shopping malls downstairs, making shopping and dining convenient. It's within walking distance to Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and Johor Old Chinese Temple. A 5-minute walk will also get you to the hawker street and a 24-hour laundromat."

"This was my second time staying at New York Hotel. This time, I stayed in a Family Room. We originally had three people, and after added an extra bed. The price was still quite reasonable, and breakfast was included, which was a good value. The breakfast was one of the highlights of my stay. There were many choices, including local Malaysian favourites such as roti prata, nasi lemak, porridge, and more. I really enjoyed having so many different options. My favourite part of the hotel is definitely the indoor swimming pool. The hotel also has a gym and jacuzzi, which are great facilities for relaxing and enjoying some downtime. The Family Room was very spacious, and the view was beautiful. The location is also convenient, making it easy to get around and access nearby places. However, there are still some areas that need improvement. The shower mat was quite dirty, which was disappointing. Also, out of the three towels provided, two of them had a very strong unpleasant smell. I hope the hotel can pay more attention to the cleanliness and freshness of the towels and bathroom items. Another thing I found inconvenient was that there were only two charging sockets in the room, and one of them was located in the bathroom. For a family room, I think having more charging points would be much more convenient for guests. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay because of the spacious room, beautiful view, good breakfast, indoor swimming pool, gym and jacuzzi. However, I hope the hotel can improve the cleanliness of the bathroom items, the smell of the towels, and provide more convenient charging points."
