Comfortable beds, great location , super nice staff. That being said its new and still needs work. We stayed in 3 different rooms, All were extremely lacking in lighting, they are in need of floor lamps or overhead lighting. One of the rooms didn't even have a dresser . The lobby was decorated nicely but the rooms were very sparse and the interior design choices were questionable at best. A chair to sit on would go a long way. Free Continental breakfast was not good, and there is an amenities charge but there were no amenities. parking is not free. manage your expectations. In time they may make improvements.

The place was so wonderful. Beautifully decorated rooms, lots of space and comfortable bedding. Quite impressed with all the attention to details that were provided. The furniture and decor were very nice and fit the room perfectly. Breakfast was a really nice treat and the bar was a great addition.

The Inn has been renovated and the rooms are great. However, the increase of price on the room rates, combined with a below average breakfast and the lack of a social hour did not make for a positive experience. We will be looking for other stay options in the future.

Let me start by saying this hotel is absolutely beautiful. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but once you walk in it is stunning. The lobby, the wood work, the seating areas... everything is impeccable and gorgeous and CLEAN. This hotel has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but sadly it falls short in several areas of execution, especially when compared to other hotels of similar caliber. Let me explain. Also let me preface this by saying I discussed all of this, in person, with the hotel manager while I was on property as I felt like my stay was negatively impacted by the combination of everything below. I recently stayed in the Admiral's Suite, which I was told was their absolute best room. It. Is. INCREDIBLE. My jaw literally dropped when I walked in and saw the space in person. It is so much more beautiful in person than in pictures! But there are also many, many ways in which the room is beautiful but not functional: * There are 2 65" tvs, but neither is a smart tv and neither allows any sort of streaming or casting. There isn't even a channel guide (digital OR printed) so you have no choice but to manually flip channels and hope you figure out what's what. That wouldn't be a factor if I could stream/cast, but I couldn't. Hotel staff could not answer my basic questions about what channels were available or even which tv provider they use. When you interfere with my ability to watch a nationally televised, highly anticipated football game in the 21st century with all the viewing options that exist to us today, we're going to have a problem, and we had this problem 3 times. * The kitchen is huge and glorious, but it is basically a beautiful waste of space. There is not one plate, utensil, or napkin in the kitchen. The refrigerator is the smallest, weakest model available; it barely keeps anything cold and you can't really fit anything more than cans in it. No microwave. So, no way to reheat anything you bring back to the room, no real cold storage, and no tools with which to eat anything. Why bother having this gorgeous space if I can't do anything with it? * No easy access to ice - you have to go to the front desk and ask for it and then they bring it to you in a thin bag * No trash liners provided in the room - aesthetically, I get it. You have a certain style and that includes fancy trash bins. But I don't want to dump my messy trash in the beautiful bins and mess them up, AND that just makes more work for the housekeeping staff because now they have to clean the bin after its emptied. Further note: I had a spare shopping bag that I was keeping for the trip home that was *on the kitchen counter with my belongings*, not on the floor sitting next to the trash can. Housekeeping took my bag and used it to dispose of trash! Had the room had bags provided, this would not have been necessary! It's fine if you don't want to put liners in the cans, but at least provide them. It just makes sense. Also, these beautiful bins are very small and don't hold ve

The newly renovated inn is terrific. From the lobby bar and comfortable accommodations to the new roof bar, the Ansonborough Inn is well worth a visit. The staff is exceptional. We were given many helpful suggestions re. where to shop, drink and dine in Charleston.

Enjoyed staying in the junior room. Staff and checkin was very easy with no waiting to check in. Close to everything in the historic district (5-15 minute walk). Bedding and shower was perfect. The feel and look of luxury in a historic hotel. If ever there again will definitely rebook here.

I stayed there in 2021 and am still traumatized. All of the great views are accurate. It was a nice play to stay until I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. There was a giant roach the size of a mouse climbing down the wall. I will never ever go back. Thank God we were leaving in the morning. It ruined my entire memory of Charleston. I've stayed in some less than nice hotels and this was the worst experience of my life!

Check-in was a breeze with friendly, knowledgeable and proficient Front desk. Thanks to Kelly & Finn! Building itself is beautiful and unique. We stayed in an ‘Executive suite’. Room was clean, very spacious, with high ceilings. Two levels: lower level, Bath (big shower) & Kitchen w/ small ref & microwave and sink, and upper-level Living with sofa, dinette set and big TV; and Bedroom, comfortable bed, small closet, plenty of drawers and big TV. Location was excellent, near many places but in a quieter area. Across street big grocery store. Hotel offers (Continental) breakfast and a wine & cheese happy hour. We will stay there in our future visit/s!!!

It is not the special place it was under the former owners. They have less than average amenities and service at twice the price just 12 months ago. Plus the inconvenience of construction going on.
