"Arriving after 5pm on a Thursday, I followed the explicit directions provided by Ascot management. There was a short walk (150 meters at most) to my room but the directions provided ensured that I was in my room in quick order. The fellow on the desk was able to assist with directions to fine dining close by and in the morning assisted again with directions to the train getting me to the airport easily on time. It's a well kept, conveniently located accommodation. I'll stay again next time in Brisbane."

"My stay at The Star Grand in Brisbane was absolutely fantastic, far exceeding my expectations overall! The hotel boasts an elegant and grand ambiance with exquisite decor. Both the public areas and the rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable, making for a truly relaxing stay. "I booked on the day we arrived as I needed accommodation close to Northshore Eat Street. Saw reviews about access issues so I called before booking and was advised access info is sent at 2pm. We had no problems with online booking and receiving access code. Room was good value for money with balcony, plenty of free parking and wifi. Would definitely book again if I need accommodation close to airport."

"There is a business district next to it, breakfast and dinner are very convenient. It is easy to find next to the main road, and parking is convenient to pick up and put things at the door of the room. The service staff is warm and polite."

"First time I've stayed here. I was aware of the mixed reviews & I've stayed at other hotels in Chermie but they were booked out on this occasion. It was raining heavily when I arrived so appreciated the undercover parking spaces immediately outside the reception. Check-in was seamless (thx Trip.com) & they didn't require a security deposit or CC scan so my customer trust box was ticked :-) The car park is secure & at ground level but spaces are limited; I was able to find a spot though at 4pm. There is public parking out on the street without restriction after 5pm. I had a Hotel Queen Room on the 2nd floor. Easy access via lift and the common areas were clean & well lit. The room and bathroom were clean with a pleasant aroma & no smell of mould (reported by others), air-con was on. I had a choice of two sliding doors to access the balcony so good for fresh air (but no insect screen). Overall, the room was comfortable whilst showing some signs of wear & tear. The shower had a choice of either hand-held or fixed head (rainforest type) & had plenty of pressure - great. I would recommend bringing your own toiletries, unless you're happy with generic multi-function liquid soap! The fridge was empty except for a small uht milk with no complimentary springwater or mini-bar that you might find in other hotels. There was TV, tea/coffee making supplies and a small microwave. If you like to sleep in complete darkness (like me), bring an eye-mask as the hallway lighting outside the room is bright & on all night, creating an aura around the front door that is hard not to notice. The area was relatively quiet with the hotel located on a side street. It's an easy & short walk to a major shopping centre and the bus station if you need to head into Briz City, which is a 20-30min ride away & only $0.50 fare - awesome. Breakfast (from 7am) was also included but I had to head-off early so wasn't able to grab a bite this time. In summary, I felt that the room rate was appropriate and score my overall experience as good."

"Caring staff-hotel in an okay location. Worth it for me to stopover on route to Vancouver BC Canada after flying from Hobart Tasmania. I don't like the $9 fee to take you to the international terminal. Everything else is good there, worth it for a bit of luxury and rest."

"The room was the most comfortable one I stayed in during the entire trip. It was very large, with reasonable space, and there was a washing machine and dryer. It was very suitable for a rest stop during a long trip. There was a large supermarket within a few minutes' walk, and the food nearby was also great!"

"We booked a private 3 bed room as a couple. It was spacious enough for us. The mattress could get changed as it’s quite worn down. The AC was actually disgusting to say the least. It’s good they have one in the room but we had to turn it off because it smelled really bad. Luckily we went in winter so the small window was fine. The community areas were tidy as well as the bathrooms. We did not use the pool but it’s a great addition to have! Breakfast was fine as well"

She was extremely patient in answering all my questions during the check-in process and kindly arranged a room upgrade for me, which made my stay even more comfortable. The upgraded room is clean, spacious and has a great view. The hotel's facilities are well-maintained and the location is convenient. Thanks to Saly's thoughtful service, this trip was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely choose it again!"
