I was able to stay at a reasonable price, even though it was in the center, probably because I booked on a weekday. The staff is very friendly! The smile of the woman at the reception was impressive, and although I originally booked a dormitory with about 10 people, they kindly showed me to a room with fewer people available!
Also, one of the joys of traveling with a backpacker is interacting with other guests at the hostel, and here, as an evening activity, you can make and eat dinner with other guests (the staff manages and gives instructions properly, and it's free), and after that, if you want, they will take you to a local club or bar for 20€. (You can go there all the time you stay if you pay once)
So it was great to have a lot of interaction with other guests! I've stayed at various hostels, but it's rare to find one that does this much. I've stayed at other hostels in Barcelona, but some of them didn't have an atmosphere of interaction at all.
The guests were really interesting and from many different countries, so I highly recommend it for people who want to interact with others!
On the one hand, there were few sinks to brush your teeth, which was a bit inconvenient, and the lockers had old, simple locks, so the security aspect was questionable. It's better than nothing, so I always carried my valuables with me, but there was a lock on the door to the room just in case. Luckily, all my roommates were nice people, so I had a good time.
There's an Asian supermarket nearby, and the old town is just around the corner. It's also a good location for people who want to visit Barcelona for the first time and want to do some sightseeing.
