"Before coming, I was a bit worried about the hotel's age and potential issues with its facilities. However, upon arrival, it exceeded my expectations. The environment is top-notch, and the hygiene is excellent. They provide a wide range of high-quality amenities. The room was tidied up perfectly every day. Key points: The hotel's location is superb, extremely close to the central shopping area of Ikebukuro. Even on rainy days, spending an entire day at Sunshine City, which is connected to the hotel, is no problem. Furthermore, the dining options in Ikebukuro are surprisingly affordable. You can find quality meals with good service for 1000-1500 yen. Even if you don't want to eat out, the FamilyMart on the first floor of the hotel can cover all your meals with a rich variety of options. Lastly, the transportation is very convenient. From Ikebukuro East Station, you can easily reach Shinjuku and Shibuya. From the West Station, you can get to Ueno, Ginza, and Sumida."

"Really like this hotel. It’s new and the vibe is nice. Clean and pleasant. It does take about 11 mins’ walk in the underground pass (not fully connected but close enough) to get to shinjuku station. All staff are friendly except a gentleman who didn’t look too happy with life."

"This hotel is perfectly located, just about a 5-minute walk from Haneda T3 terminal! If you're arriving by flight, you'll find it on the Arrivals (到着) level. If you're coming from the city via the Keikyu line, head to the Arrivals level first. Look for HANEDA AIRPORT GARDEN/羽田空港花园 (as shown in pictures 2-3), go inside, and just keep walking straight. There are many shops along the way, perfect for picking up souvenirs. Eventually, you'll see a Lawson convenience store, and the hotel lobby is right behind it. The distinctive decorative pillar (as shown in picture 5) is quite beautiful~ The room wasn't huge, but we only had one 30-inch suitcase for two people, and we were able to open it and place it comfortably. We chose this hotel because we had an early flight the next morning and didn't want to get up early in the city. Plus, you can enjoy the hot springs (public bath)! As someone from the south, this was my second time trying a naked hot spring experience after Yangzhou, and I even got to drink the milk that's often seen in anime after a hot spring bath – truly a dimension-breaking experience. In summary, this hotel is indeed excellent in all aspects and highly recommended for business travelers! What I especially want to share and praise is the hotel's service – it's incredibly humane and considerate! When checking in, you can use the self-service machine – it supports Chinese, just scan your passport and fill in your information. The room provides wet/dry slippers, toiletries, and even loungewear/pajamas if you plan to visit the hot springs. We had a last-minute request to add a person to our room (a friend who was with us at the hot springs couldn't get back to their accommodation in the city due to a Yamanote Line service disruption that day). The hotel doesn't seem to have triple rooms, and there was no space for an extra bed in our current room, but the front desk, even late at night, responded very promptly and responsibly to our request. Ultimately, they moved us to a slightly larger room and added a bed! While we waited, they proactively contacted us to update us on the progress and estimated waiting time – honestly, if my colleagues at work were this reliable, I'd have no worries! All in all, my stay at Villa Fontaine this time far exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely lean towards choosing this place again when I visit Japan in the future! P.S. Before booking, I saw on Xiaohongshu that this hotel has a seal-themed room, but I couldn't find it anywhere on Ctrip, or even on their official website 😢"

"The twin rooms all face JR Station. We were initially given a room on the fifth floor, and it was so noisy we couldn't sleep at all. After telling the front desk, they kindly moved us to the eleventh floor, which we really appreciate. There's still a faint train noise, but it doesn't disturb our rest. Overall, the location is great and convenient for getting around."

"The facilities are great, especially the tatami mats, and the shower pressure was excellent. The only minor downside was the 10 AM checkout. Unfortunately, my family caught the flu and had a fever of over 40 degrees. Luckily, I brought medicine, but they still needed to rest. I had to pay for an additional 5 hours, at 1100 yen per hour, for an early check-in and late checkout. It was a lifesaver that they allowed us to pay for the extra time; otherwise, I don't know what we would have done. Tsukiji Market is right downstairs, but the subway is a bit of a walk, usually more than 8 minutes. Overall, it's great value for money."

"Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The bell boy who helped me with bringing my luggages to the room was very friendly and helpful, spoke good English too. Though not all staff spoke good English, they tried their best to assist me. Their service standard is consistent throughout. The room and the toilet was spacious and clean. There were 4 restuarants that I could go to for breakfast. The Garden Lounge which served buffet breakfast has a wide selection of food and drink. Most importantly the food was yummy! I enjoyed looking at the beautiful garden with waterfall view as I was seated by the window during breakfast."

"Let's start with the positives. The hotel's location is unbeatable – incredibly convenient for food, with everything you could ask for, and a convenience store right outside. The Oedo Line Exit 7 is just across the street, and a quick right turn at the intersection followed by another right leads you to the Hibiya Line, making transportation incredibly easy to get anywhere. After a long day of exploring, it's a blessing to step out of the subway and directly into the hotel. The room also had a massage chair, which is why I'm giving facilities 5 stars; it definitely helped relieve some of the day's fatigue. Now for the negatives. There are many bars downstairs, and at night, the street is filled with people trying to solicit customers, including women offering massages. As long as you don't make eye contact, you're generally fine, but I did see one girl being followed and hassled. Also, despite booking a larger twin room, it was still quite small. I won't go into detail about the cleanliness, but as you can see from the pictures, it really wasn't clean – on par with an old 3-star guesthouse in China. However, the unbeatable location still makes up for it."

"I stayed here again this year. It's right across the street from the Takanawa Exit of Shinagawa Station, in the East Tower. You can check yourself in and out, which is convenient. I stay here often for business trips, mainly because it's close to Haneda Airport and makes transferring to various train lines really easy. If you book in advance, the room rates are quite reasonable. I've tried to book breakfast before but never actually ate it because the lines were too long, so I just skipped it this time. The single room is big enough to open a large suitcase flat, which is fine. However, the luggage storage service now only allows same-day storage. Last time I was here, I could store my luggage for a few days until I returned from another location to check in again. This time, the staff member didn't even know if there was a time limit for the automatic lockers and just said she didn't know. Absolutely no service awareness; she could have checked and then gotten back to me. Luckily, I can speak Japanese, so I asked another Japanese staff member, who answered fluently and satisfactorily. It really shows how some local staff lack an understanding of their job responsibilities, the equipment within their workplace, and how to use it – it's truly baffling. So disappointing! I guess that's why she's only working at the luggage counter..."

"I've travelled to many parts of Japan for over a decade and in terms of ”a comfortable hotel with no complaints”, this is it for me. No complaints but I do have a small feedback which is to have the breakfast start at 6 or 6.30am for early/business travellers to be able to grab a bite before they can go about their day. Other than that, the room was comfortable and big enough for a small side sofa by the window, there were spaces to open a medium sized cargo bag, the amenities were sufficient and so were the Eco-friendly initiatives (room service, bamboo in place of plastic items), etc. There was also a decent humidifier provided during winter (but that was not enough for me who comes from the tropics), I had my own small humidifier too and still it was kind of dry (not a hotel problem). The view coming up the elevator and at the lobby was majorly impressive - boasting a skyline of both Tokyo Tower against Mt Fuji in the distance; during sunset, it was such a sight to behold. The lobby is big and has lots of rest/seating areas with some small amount of drinks provided from 5am to 10pm and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The service staff were impressive - knowing a wide range of languages and when they did not, remained unfazed and used translation tools. They were all polite, helpful and the F&B members too, made you feel like you were in some high-end restaurant. The artwork was also very nice to observe all over and if I have the chance to afford this hotel again, I'd do it in a snap. Other important notes are that there is a convenience store at B2 of the same building. Level 3 is a bridge that links you directly to Yurikamome line monorail -and a little further, to the Asakusa and Ginza lines from there. The Ginza honten (main store) Don Quijote is also a 10 to 15 minute walk from there and so are many local eateries (5 min walk) and shopping areas (Carote, 10 to 15mins walk)."

Amazing
GGuest UserI come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them. The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits. Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape. There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water. The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station. I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

GGuest UserThis hotel is incredibly convenient, right next to Shin-Nihonbashi Station. Mitsukoshi and Eslite department stores are directly across the street. Plus, it's just a 5-minute walk to Nihonbashi. You'll also find several popular, queue-worthy restaurants nearby. The hotel's public bath is fantastic – perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of walking. They even provide Pola skincare products in the room! NnelsonThe facilities are truly exceptional. Given the relatively limited space, everything is incredibly well-arranged, especially the bathroom which has a dry and wet separation. As for cleanliness, there's absolutely no need to worry; it's spotless. On the seventh floor, there were two very young and helpful staff members, a male and a female, constantly assisting guests.

Jjeffrey159I enjoyed the experience overall. The hotel is very close to the station, which made traveling around Tokyo very convenient. There is also a FamilyMart right below the hotel, perfect for quick snacks and essentials. The hotel has a hot spring and gym facilities, although I didn’t get the chance to use them during my stay. The room itself was super spacious compared to many hotels in Tokyo. The bed was comfortable, the bathtub was large and very clean, and I also liked the Bluetooth audio speaker provided in the room. My only complaint was the touchscreen air-conditioning control panel. It was not very responsive and honestly quite frustrating to use. I would have preferred a traditional remote controller instead. Aside from that, everything else felt modern, clean, and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

FFangdatong1. **Facilities:** The hotel has a main building and a south building. If you're sensitive to noise, definitely book a room on the 30th floor or higher in the main building. Rooms below the 30th floor haven't been renovated, so they have old facilities and poor soundproofing. On my first night, I stayed on the 29th floor. The room was old, and the gap under the door was huge, so there was basically no sound insulation. Any noise in the corridor could be heard, which meant I didn't get any rest all night. The duvet was also a Japanese style, like a 'sandwich cookie' – sheets on the top and bottom with the duvet in the middle, unlike our usual duvets with a proper cover. The bathroom also had the old Japanese style where the sink and tub were crammed together, and you had to stand inside the tub to shower. The next morning, I asked the front desk to change rooms, and I got one on the 31st floor, which was completely different from the 29th! The room was larger than the 29th-floor one, newly renovated, and had a wet and dry separation in the bathroom, meaning the sink and shower area were separate. The shower area even had both a shower and a soaking tub. The shower gel and shampoo were all L'Occitane brand, and the duvet had a proper cover. Most importantly, the soundproofing was much, much better! So take my advice: when booking, make sure to ask the front desk for a new room, as I feel there might be some preferential treatment given that many Westerners book this hotel. 2. **Transportation:** There's a direct shuttle bus from Haneda Airport to the hotel entrance. The bus attendant will help you with your luggage, so you don't have to carry it yourself, which is perfect for travelers with large suitcases. The return trip is the same, and this was one of the reasons I booked this hotel. However, it's worth noting that the earliest hotel shuttle to the airport on the return trip is at 8 AM. If you have an early flight, you'll need to go to the Shinjuku Bus Terminal to catch a bus to the airport. I had a 9 AM flight that day, so I had to go to the Shinjuku terminal. Luckily, the hotel isn't too far from the Shinjuku terminal, about a 15-minute walk. I asked the hotel staff to call a taxi for me, which cost around 1000 yen. For the subway, the closest station is Shinjuku, about a 10-minute walk to the entrance. 3. **Dining:** There's a 7-Eleven convenience store downstairs from the hotel. If you don't want to eat breakfast at the hotel, you can cross the street opposite the hotel entrance and walk for about 3 minutes to find a cafe for breakfast. Since the building above is offices, many local office workers choose to eat there. The coffee and food are decent, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend trying the pork cutlet sandwich – it's delicious. **Cleanliness:** I have to admit, the cleanliness was excellent, whether in the old 29th-floor room or the 31st-floor room. It was consistently top-notch, meeting five-star standards. Even though the old room was dated, it wasn't dirty. I specifically checked the bathtub for stains, and there was no dust in the crevices of the bedside tables, on the TV remote, or on the air purifier – all those little spots you don't usually notice. So, cleanliness-wise, it's definitely okay.

FFeierziThis was my third stay, and the hotel's location is fantastic, right inside the amusement park. Suidobashi Station is also incredibly convenient for transportation. The hotel is huge and very busy, but the price is quite reasonable. Given the volume of guests, it's understandable that the front desk staff might struggle to keep up. However, the self check-in/check-out machines are a nice addition. There are a couple of hardware issues: ① The elevators are very slow. Even with separate high and low zones, during peak check-out times in the morning, you might have to wait for several elevators before you can get down. I feel like the algorithm could be optimized. ② The rooms are advertised as over 30 square meters, but they don't feel that big – more like 25 square meters. It's hard to even lay a large suitcase flat. This is probably difficult to change. The biggest disappointment this time was that the Tokyo Dome City Attractions were closed due to ***. I tried to cancel my reservation a few days in advance, but it wasn't allowed, which felt a bit inflexible.

XXin Ying ShiThe hotel's location is superb! This is my third time staying here, and this time I was on the 24th floor. The room was spacious enough for four large suitcases and two carry-ons. The hotel's buffet breakfast on the 25th floor offers a wide variety of options. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit.

GGuest UserHotel location was ideal. It was relatively near to the Shimbashi station and Ginza station. Lots of shops around Ginza that are few minutes walk away. Noted the room had a pamphlet for ¥1000 should we not request for room service. Throughout the 6 nights, no one offered the voucher which was weird as I stayed at the Lively, Osaka and was offered the voucher upfront upon check in. Understand it might be a different process and procedure but if there was going to be a voucher, it should have been more upfront and transparent. On the 4th night, requested for bottled water and was seemingly questioned if I requested for room service which i denied and was given a rather doubtful look. Not the best experience with the agent but was a pleasant stay nonetheless.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel room was a bit small, but that's acceptable for the price. The biggest issue was that the fridge barely cooled at all; it was more for show than for actual use.

Good
GGuest Usergood for solo travellers. not social at all, and quiet and lights out hour starts at 11pm. very clean though! and it is around 15 minute walk to shibuya centre / crossing. it is surrounded by convenient stores though. it is also near the area of love hotels and clubs of the shibuya region, but it is not loud at all and it is in a quiet little corner. so if that scene is not your vibe then you can easily ignore it because it is not apparent at all (i only found out there are clubs and love hotels and bars near it because i went on late night walks around the neighbourhood every night and also my friend asked me to go clubbing at this specific club and coincidentally i found out it was minutes away from this hostel, and also long story short we also had to actively look for love hotels near the area because we both were stranded for the night lol). but if it is your scene - it is awfully convenient!
