"IntercityBerlin Hauptbahnhof (a brand of H Rewards, Germany) is a new, modern, and comfortable 4-star hotel located near Berlin Hbf train station (180 meters, a 3-minute walk). The hotel is very clean, tidy, organized, and well-maintained. The bedrooms are spacious, clean, beautiful, and warm. The breakfast restaurant is located on the ground floor, near the Reception desk. The breakfast selection is extensive and varied. The fruit juices and coffee are delicious. Note: (1) The hotel does not automatically clean rooms, but only upon guest request (ordered via the app). (2) Luggage storage at the hotel before Check-In time and after Check-Out time is not free; a fee will be charged per hour and based on the number and size of luggage items. (3) Following the trend in the European hotel industry in recent years, this hotel does not provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or shampoo; nor does it provide a kettle and small tea and coffee packets in the room. Therefore, you must prepare for yourself in advance. There's a noteworthy offer: Upon check-in, ask the Reception desk and you'll be provided with a free public transport pass (for various modes of transport) in Berlin (all three zones A, B, C) for the full number of days you're staying at the hotel. Very convenient!"

"I recently stayed at this hotel , and I have to say my experience was a real mix of good and bad. I'll break it down clearly so other travelers know what to expect. Check-in experience I arrived at the hotel AT 21 PM, which was supposed to be the standard check-in time. To my surprise, there was absolutely nobody at the reception desk. I stood there waiting, thinking someone would appear in a minute.. After a while staff member finally came out from a back office. They looked a bit stressed or overwhelmed. The check-in process itself was rushed and cold. Coffee in the room – horrible Another big downside was the in-room coffee. The hotel provides instant powdered coffee – the cheap, soluble type that comes in a small sachet. I made a cup hoping for a decent morning coffee, but it was truly horrible. The taste was artificial, bitter, and had absolutely no real coffee flavour. It honestly tasted like chemicals. In my opinion, a hotel charging these rates should definitely offer capsule coffee (like Nespresso or a compatible system). Powdered coffee is outdated, low-quality, and leaves a terrible impression on guests who appreciate a good cup of coffee to start the day. This is a small detail that makes a big difference. I ended up going out to a nearby café to buy real coffee. THE POSITIVE POINTS Cleanliness – excellent On the positive side, I have to say that the cleanliness of the room was impeccable. The bed sheets were crisp, white, and spotless. The bathroom was perfectly clean – no hair, no dust, no stains. The floors were well swept and mopped. It's clear that the housekeeping staff takes their job seriously and does an excellent job. I felt very comfortable in terms of hygiene and tidiness. The room itself – fine The room was fine. It wasn't luxurious or particularly stylish, but it was perfectly acceptable for a short stay. The bed was comfortable enough, the TV worked well, the Wi-Fi connection was stable, and the air conditioning functioned properly. There was enough space to move around and store my luggage. So for a basic, no-frills stay, the room met expectations."

Environment: Although it's a bit far from the city center, its convenient transportation makes up for it. The train station is just across the street, and there's also a supermarket nearby. Service: The service was just so-so, but luckily the front desk staff spoke good English, making communication smooth."

"Great location. Central to many things. Ideal for travel from the airport to Alexanderplatz station, short walk from there.Close to many bars and restaurants. A comfortable room with a courtyard view, an excellent bathroom, breakfast was plentiful and delicious The staff were helpful. House keeping carried out if you require it but reception needs to be informed daily. This is becoming normal practice here and other hotels. Only negative there is no fridge which is unusual for a hotel of this grading"

"The hotel is in East Berlin. It seems to have been renovated by a factory building. The housing space is not large, but it is adequate, clean and cost-effective. There is an Asian supermarket next to it. It is run by Vietnamese. The pure ribs only cost 5 euros per kilogram. There is a bus in front of the hotel. Car M8 can go directly to the railway station. It is very convenient for us to go from Berlin to Frankfurt. Simple accommodation is quite satisfactory."

The shower in the room, behind a glass door, is quite noteworthy – it could be awkward if you're not a couple, but for me, it was more amusing than embarrassing. Overall, it's good, just a bit pricey, but then again, this is Berlin."

"The room wasn't huge, but it was really clean and tidy. The guy at the front desk was super friendly and patiently answered all our questions. Since our English wasn't great, they even wrote things down for us to explain step-by-step. It was a lovely touch to find herbal tea and biscuits when we entered. The hotel's location is also excellent, with bus and subway stops right outside. The Berlin Cathedral and Brandenburg Gate are both within walking distance. The breakfast was pretty standard, just like most hotel breakfasts. Plus, having an on-site parking lot was really convenient for our self-drive trip."

Despite my explicit request for a quiet room when booking, the first night was very disruptive due to a high level of noise. Although I was assigned a new room the next day after my complaint, it was located opposite the fitness and sauna area. The loud slamming door caused by the high turnover of guests also prevented the desired night's rest there. I found the incident on my last day particularly distressing: even though I had put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, a staff member gained access to my room with a master key around 8:00 AM. I consider this a significant violation of my privacy. Due to these experiences, I feel compelled to reduce my rating of your service by two points.

The hotel was beautifully decorated and in a great location. We stayed there for 3 nights over New Year's Eve. It must be even more beautiful in the summer. The staff are always available and address any issues promptly. It's also really cool that each elevator plays different music. I would recommend it to everyone.

We recently stayed at The Circus Hotel in Berlin, taking two rooms for a short family trip. The experience was, in many respects, excellent. The location is ideal—central, with easy access to public transport and within walking distance of a huge variety of restaurants and shops. Service throughout was truly commendable. Staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful at every turn. The hotel bar is a genuine highlight—stylish, welcoming, and well-stocked. We especially appreciated the honesty bar and terrace upstairs, which made for a beautiful, relaxed afternoon during our stay. Breakfast was another strong point, offering a good variety of quality options in a comfortable setting. The rooms themselves are well-sized, clean, and nicely appointed. However, there’s a major issue that any traveller should be aware of: there is no real air conditioning. What’s provided is what I would describe as a comfort cooling system—more symbolic than functional. During our stay, temperatures hovered around 25 °C during the day and 18 °C at night, yet the rooms remained unpleasantly warm. Both rooms had fans, and the windows had to be opened to let in any real cool air. It’s quite clear that the hotel expects guests to rely on the fans, which is not acceptable given the climate realities of Berlin summers. This significantly affected our comfort and sleep. For travel between late May and early October, I would strongly caution against booking unless you’re completely indifferent to room temperature. It’s unfortunate, because in almost every other respect, The Circus Hotel is a real gem. I genuinely wanted to love it, and in cooler months, I very likely would. But the absence of proper climate control is a deal-breaker in warmer weather, and it’s clear the hotel is aware of the issue—hence the fans in every room. Pros: • Excellent location • Superb service • Great breakfast • Fantastic bar and terrace • Generous room size Cons: • No air conditioning—only a weak cooling system and fans • Rooms become uncomfortably warm even in moderate summer temperatures Conclusion: A brilliant hotel during cooler seasons. But for summer stays, particularly with children or light sleepers, the lack of proper climate control unfortunately outweighs the many positives.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would gladly recommend it to both leisure and business travelers. From the moment I arrived, the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and well organized. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with staff members who were professional, friendly, and eager to help with any questions. The room itself was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was extremely comfortable, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep after a long day. I appreciated the attention to detail, from fresh linens and quality toiletries to the ample storage space and well-lit work area. Housekeeping did an excellent job maintaining cleanliness throughout the stay. The hotel’s amenities added a lot of value to the experience. The common areas were well maintained, and the facilities were easy to access. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a good variety of fresh and tasty options that catered to different preferences. Everything was replenished promptly, and the dining area remained clean and comfortable even during busy hours. Location-wise, the hotel is very convenient. It’s close to key attractions, restaurants, and transportation options, making it easy to get around without hassle. Despite the central location, the hotel felt calm and quiet, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, this hotel delivers a great balance of comfort, service, and value. The staff’s hospitality, combined with the clean rooms and convenient location, made the stay truly enjoyable. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would confidently recommend it to others looking for a reliable and comfortable place to stay.

We stayed at NH Collection Berlin Mitte for two nights over the weekend. Overall, it’s a great value for a short trip. The location is excellent and the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed (comfortable bed, great bathroom, TV). The best part was the sauna included in the price — perfect after cold winter walks, and it’s open until 10 pm. Two small downsides: we felt a slight draft from the balcony window (winter stay), and there was a faint “old” smell in the room. Not a big issue, but worth mentioning. We didn’t try breakfast, so can’t comment on food.

Let's start with the positives: The location is excellent, right next to the U2 subway station and very close to the U6. If you have the Berlin WelcomeCard, getting around by subway and bus is super convenient and saves you a lot of walking. There's a Rewe supermarket across the street with a great selection of food, and their salad bar and hot food counter are both excellent. Now for the negatives: The staff were arrogant and rude. I waited in line to check in for almost 20 minutes when a white man just walked up and stood next to the queue, not bothering to line up. After the person in front of me finished, I walked up to the front desk with him. He said the balding male staff member at the desk had called him over. I told the male receptionist that everyone was queuing and should be served in order, but he insisted he had called that specific white man. At this point, another front desk was free, so I didn't argue and moved to that one. This is where it got even more interesting. When I tried to pay the deposit in cash, the female receptionist said they don't accept cash. Isn't it illegal in any country to refuse legal tender? And who says everyone has a credit card? I didn't want any trouble, so I pulled out my credit card, but for some reason, it wouldn't go through. Finally, this female receptionist said her colleague could accept cash, and indeed, the colleague came over and took the money. But if I hadn't asked, they wouldn't have even given me a receipt. For a hotel costing over 2,000 euros a night, they don't provide bottled water unless you're a Hilton Silver member or higher. The coffee is also terrible instant coffee, the worst among the four hotels I stayed at on this Europe trip. The facilities are old but reasonably well-maintained. In short, besides the location, there are no redeeming qualities.

This is a very big hostel with hundreds of beds, though it did not feel cramped or loud. I had a quiet stay.   I stayed for 2 nights in a mixed dorm with three bunk beds and en-suite. The toilet and shower are separate which makes use easier. Hanson’s and shower gel is included, as is a hairdryer.   The room is spacious with tables and seating areas, this is also of use to those who on the top bunk who cannot sit on their bed as easily.  There is a mirror though a lack of hooks being only a hook and couple of hangers. The bed is of a metal frame and thus I was able to apply my travel straps and hooks to create places to hand my coat and bag. There is a locker big enough to take hand luggage sized bag (own lock needed).  The bed has a usb port for charging and a slot into which a phone will fit, though no individual light. The room has two lights and it is possible to turn on only one; the other people in my room came in and out at unsociable hours though we’re all respectful being quiet and also putting in the main light.   The mattress and pillow are comfy enough, you need to collect linen and make the bed yourself.  Everything was clean.  Reception is 24 hours though checking us via one of the 4 automated screens. It is through the machines that you do check in and pay tourist tax and the machine prints paper with your allocated room and bed number. You even activate the room card yourself. There is a sign in the desk with a map of blocks with room numbers in each one. That is all the welcome that you get; there is no explanation related to hostel layout or facilities. I had to ask in which direction to go to get to my block, the receptionist gave my directions and once I got to the room and found no bedding on the bed so went back to reception. The check in computer screen states that bed linen is provided free of charge and towels can be paid for at reception. The receptionist did not give me any bedding nor point to where to where to pick it up some thus I assumed the linen would be laid on the bed as in other hostels. The next day a person arriving in the room asked where he gets bed linen, he also did not get given any bedding even when talking with the receptionist. I do find it odd that you are expected to ask for the bedding: as this is the case I recommend updating the wording on the computer screen as it is ambiguous and gives the impression you only need to ask at reception if needing a towel.  There is a guest kitchen which has basic equipment: fridge, sink, microwave, 2 hot plates, 2 frying pans, 1 saucepan, some plates, bowls and some cutlery. There was one mug in which I made a cup of tea by heating water in the microwave. I recommend a kettle to boil water. The kitchen is sufficient for simple meals, making breakfast and sandwiches. I did not try the hostel breakfast.  There is one common area near reception with a bar and possibility to purchase food. Vending machines there. WiFi reliable. The common room can feel cramped when groups are there. There is good security as all entrance doors and lifts use card access. To access the guest kitchen ask at reception and they update your card.  The location is very good being 5 min walk from Ostkreuz train station. It is a direct line to Messe Nord where the bus station and FlixBus stop is. Easy to get public transportation into the cities. There are many shops, supermarkets and eating places nearby. Vegan kebab shop directly opposite.  Good value for money. I had a comfortable stay with no difficulties and I would stay again.
