Daosri the Inn

Daosri the Inn

📍 Barpeta Road, Baksa
★★★ 8.0 (1 reviews)

"This is a good budget resort to stay in Manas. It’s also great for sighting wild animals, as it’s bordering the forest boundary. We sighted a rhino with her cub as well as an Indian bison sitting in the hotel itself. The stay is comfortable and homely. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only complaint is, very limited menu and the food price is exorbitant."

"Ended up here after strong independent recommendations from two different friends and did nor regret our decision. Located on the Manas national park border, the forest feel continues within the resort with its many tall trees and bamboo growing all across the property. The nicely designed cottages were clean, comfortable and cosy. The staff was helpful and helped organise all our safari trips including to the recently opened Kahitama range and the fun elephant interaction. Located as it was at the edge of the park, we saw rhinos grazing not so far from the property, which was exciting. The immersive walk around the nearby Bodo village was also a memorable experience. Special thanks to Mr Shakti Singh Shekhawat who went beyond his call of duty to organise emergency medicines for me by waking up a village chemist post 9pm. Definitely recommend."

Musa Jungle Retreat

Musa Jungle Retreat

📍 Manas National Park, Gyatigaon, Barangabari, Jyoti, Jyoti Gaon
★★★ 9.0 (13 reviews)

"Excellent location near walking distance of Bansberia range gate of Manas National Park. There are 20 cottages and those are spacious and maintained. Maybe quite a bit more expensive than the resorts in the surroundings but excellent service and rooms. Animals like elephant, rhino and Gaur comes regularly opposite to the resort but due to tall grass not visible from cottages. You need to get up on first floor where the restaurant is to get a clear view. Only jarring part was food was expensive and the rates charges were not standard (charged more than printed menu cards) plus 18% GST. Food quality was ok. We tried local cuisine like bamboo shoots and Chicken onla. Safaries can be arranged by the resort with prior notice to both Bansberia (more mammals sighting) and Bhuyiapara (bird sighting including Bengal Frorican). Overall a great stay with excellent staff behaviour, both frontdesk as well as housekeeping/room service staff"

Musa Jungle Retreat ★★★
"As a wildlife photographer who frequently travels across different jungles and wilderness destinations, I had my first visit to Manas Tiger Reserve last weekend, and my stay at Musa Jungle Retreat made the experience even more memorable. After looking through different accommodation options, I finally chose this place based on my guide’s recommendation, and I’m genuinely happy with the decision. The food was excellent, the room service was prompt, and the rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable. Initially, we had booked the Grazing Rhino room, which itself was very good, but since the villas were available, we upgraded — and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The villa had plenty of space, including a comfortable sitting area and a dining space where we enjoyed all our meals. One thing that stood out was the hospitality of the staff. Despite continuous heavy rains, the staff ensured hot food was delivered quickly and properly packed in casseroles. A special appreciation to the kitchen and service staff for their dedication and courteous attitude throughout the stay. The biggest highlight of this property is definitely its location — right opposite the forest. Watching elephants and rhinos grazing from the room itself was an unforgettable experience. And as a wildlife enthusiast, spotting a black leopard barely 100 meters from the property made the trip even more special. The only areas I feel could improve are the bathrooms, which looked slightly worn out for a property of this standard, and the front desk experience, which could be a little warmer and more welcoming. Overall, this is absolutely a place I would recommend to anyone visiting Manas Tiger Reserve."
