3-Star Hotels in Tawau Division

The employees are such sweethearts! When we arrived, we received a very warm welcome by the staff. During our stay, they were very helpful and super friendly. I can tell there have been adjustments since the previous comments, as now the rooms are reasonable modern. The toilet is not directly linked to the sea and there is electricity 24/7. There is airco in every room and even warm water for the showers. It’s not the most luxurious stay I’ve ever been, but it has everything you need and an amazing view. They host 3 dive/snorkeling trips a day with kind instructors and 3 meals provided by lovely ladies. Between the dive/snorkeling trips and the meal, I recommend to walk around the island. The owner is a very kind man with his wife. They like to have a chat but not too much that it becomes annoying. So in conclusion, a very nice stay for anyone who likes experience and atmosphere over luxury. Again, the staff is so nice, they really make the lodge worth your stay.

The shower heater doesn't work and I have to shower in cold water. The shower stall area smell of urine. The whole room smells musty. The toilet seat is dirty. The walls in the whole room and the toilet are stained and doesn't appear to be wiped. The only redeeming quality about this hovel is the exemplary staff-they are helpful and obliging. The owner of this hovel ought to be shot. I can't wait to get out of this place tomorrow early morning.

The hotel has an excellent location, luxuriously decorated rooms, good hygiene, nice room views, strong service awareness of hotel waiters, sufficient supplies in each room, and sufficient public facilities in the hotel. Very satisfied

Not bad, everything is good, the boss is very nice

The location is absolutely perfect. Behind is the conch assembly point pier. It doesn’t cost legs to walk. Haha, and then the famous boss is smiling all day. It feels very friendly. It’s really true. Haha. We have a problem with the drop-off. We have the wrong time. We will not horse. After the speech, the boss called the boss's friend and asked us if we wanted to call the car. We called it ourselves. It was really gray. Thank you very much. Then I said about the living environment. I think it is clean and quiet. I can sleep beautifully after jumping off the island. It is especially perfect. A particularly large kitchen can basically be used by 3 families. The special salt oil has haha. We also left some salt oil. Soy sauce. We can't use it for people in need. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the town. Super close! Stay here next time

The price is really cheap. After booking, I am worried that I am afraid that the scenery is not good. The child is disappointed. The owner of this water house is Chinese. The people are very good. All kinds of questions are answered before check-in. The room is clean and comfortable. This price is staying in a sea view room. I think the price/performance ratio is still OK. After all, I came to the sea view room and experience the water house. The child waited for a long time. The son was satisfied. I was also satisfied. Full score!

Very suitable for group travel house, public space is large The landlord responds quickly and it is very convenient to check in by yourself But if the pumping problem can be improved, it's fine. (There will be no water in the toilet in the middle of the night 🥲)

My girlfriend and I are from Sydney Australia and booked a four night stay at Pom Pom island resort. Safe to say this was the worst ‘resort’ experience we have ever had. We paid a significant amount of money thinking we were going to be in paradise but we were in for a rude awakening. So where do we start? 1. The accomodation. Originally, we booked a water villa. When we arrived, we realised that the water villas are about a 400m walk from the main eating area. You can’t swim off the jetty and if you stay in them, you may as well be in a sauna. After much reluctancy, the staff allowed us to move to a beach villa despite there being literally no one in the resort. 2. The food. We give a solid 0/10 for the food served. It’s buffet style Chinese food with the same ingredients everyday and does not change. You have scheduled eating hours so Goodluck if you get hungry. 3. Diving. We contacted them a month early to try book a trip to dive in Sipadan but were told you were unable to book through the resort. When we got here, we were told we couldn’t go because of lack of permits available. I’ll address this further below. Also worth noting that a lot of the coral around the island is dead. 4. Activities. They charge you for every activity you do and it’s pretty expensive. They make you wear life jackets if you want to swim in knee deep water. There is a mountain hike near by and they they charge you roughly 300 RM ($100) and demand you use a guide even thought it’s an easy walking track. You are not able to do anything without some sort of strict policy in place. 5. Bed bugs. Originally we thought we were getting eaten by mosquitos but realised after a long nap inside without any doors open and waking up covered in little bites that it was probably bed bugs. 6. Pollution. The island is covered in rubbish. We walked around the island and were shocked with the amount of rubbish washed up on shore. It’s really sad to see such a beautiful place be so polluted with plastic. 7. Because of all the above, we actually decided cut our trip short and head back to Semporna to book a day diving in Sipadan. In doing so, the resort tried to charge us an extra 600 RM ($200) for an off schedule boat trip back. This was the straw that broke the camels back and we refused to pay. I’m the end, they agreed on the terms of no refund for the lost night of accomodation and without any return trip back to the airport. All in all, this was an eye opening experience. The reviews of this place reflect what it may have been 10 years ago but is certainly not what it is today. Very disappointing and hope this review will deter literally anyone else from staying here again.
