Hôtel des Augustins

We stayed at Hotel des Augustins for 1 night. First, the hotel lobby is beautiful! Second, the location is perfect for visiting Aix-en-Provence. It is located in the historical center and steps away from the main sites. Third, our room was so comfortable, from the roomy bedroom and bathroom. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

We only stayed for one night, but I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The staff was so very helpful. There was issues with international phone service, and I needed to print out tickets for our train the next day, because I wasn't getting phone service. The staff was so helpful, and printed the tickets no problem. Also when we checked in early, they clearly could see we were hot, and tired, and immediately offered us ice cold bottles of water, held our bags, and tried to get our room ready early so we could check in before we were leaving on an afternoon trip to the lavender fields. The room was lovely, one large window that looked out onto a street but there was no noise issues at all. And most lovely, was that on this very hot day, the AC was working like a charm. (We had actually stayed the previous night at a 4 star hotel in town as part of a group and had had a terrible experience, so we were thrilled to find such a charming, friendly hotel at such a better price!) Hotel staff arranged for an early taxi to train station for us, and we left before breakfast, so I can not comment on the quality of that, however, even though we were not paying for breakfast they offered us a cup of coffee as we waited for the taxi.

This hotel is totally charming and it is in a perfect location. We enjoyed the breakfast and also sitting and reading in the downstairs sitting room. Our room was listed as deluxe and it was quite large but very dark. It only had one window which looked out on a narrow interior courtyard so it got no real daylight. The website said that some deluxe rooms have terraces so we requested that, but it turns out only one room has a terrace and that one was already booked. Still we enjoyed the hotel overall.
