Hôtel propre, mais difficile de trouver du gel hydroalcoolique. manque une bouteille d'eau dans la chambre. On ne peut pas ouvrir la fenêtre en grand. Restaurant avec de la variété, mais un peu surpris par le manque d'hygiène dans le nettoyage des tables pour ce que j'en ai vu!

This hotel doesn’t have Nottingham good. The breakfast isn’t something interesting and they put the dirty spoons with the cloran spoons soemthing really dirty. Also the air conditioner is really hot and you can’t turn it off being very uncomfortable when you sleep. The showers doesnt have any protectors and people can go in and see you and when you take a shower when you finish the floor is wet! And the bess are the worst things here. The single bed has got a shelve near to your head and you Kick your head with the selve when you get up and the single bed doesnt have any pillows. Pelease don’t go to this hotel if you want to have a good experience becáis e the o lh ghingheri that you will have is turn back home as fast as you can

This was our second stay at Villa Saint Ange, and I'm disappointed to say it will definitely be our last. We stayed here a couple years ago on our honeymoon, and while we had a few small issues with the service, the gorgeous grounds, immaculate room, and great location merited a return stay. Unfortunately, our return trip was much worse than the first. First, the good: the hotel is still gorgeous, and the pool is still lovely. The location is great - a short walk will bring you right to Cours Mirabeau. The restaurant is newly overseen by Pierre Gagnaire, and is still nice (though honestly no better than under the previous chef). We had two main issues this trip: our room, and the lack of service recovery when we had an issue with it. Our room was located at the front of the hotel overlooking the street. It was very nicely appointed, but as we learned at about 5-6am every single morning, it has a glaring issue: noise. Each morning, a symphony of garbage trucks, delivery vehicles, and other service vehicles absolutely bombarded our room with noise. While any room facing the street is likely a bit noisy, our room in particular was RIGHT above the hotel's loading bay, meaning 5am deliveries to the restaurant were unacceptably loud. The many antique floor-to-ceiling windows in the room were beautiful, but absolutely worthless noise insulators. We mentioned this issue to the staff, who seemed unsurprised by the complaint, and also offered nothing more than a fairly insincere apology. That said, it's not the responsibility of a hotel's receptionist to resolve hotel layout problems - it's the responsibility of management/ownership. This is not the only review to mention this issue, which means management/ownership knows this is a problem and simply does not care. This is also not an inexpensive room - it's actually a Superior category room, and thus commands a price of nearly $1,000/night. My advice to the owner of this hotel: this room cannot be a guest room. The location is not acceptable for a bedroom, and charging this much money for such a substandard room is a bad look. Convert the room to a library, parlor, utility closet - anything but a bedroom. Other consistent, easily-remedied feedback in guest reviews (most notably, lack of coffee maker in the rooms) has been ignored by management, so this likely will be as well.

If you want a peaceful respite from traveling through France, make a stop here to enjoy the stunning grounds, excellent food, comfortable modern rooms and accommodating staff. This hotel within a winery is modern and up to date, while maintaining the charm with buildings from the 17th Century. The ultra modern sculptures that pepper the grounds are “interesting” to say the least but no matter your taste, don’t take away from the sculptured landscape. The pool is modern and sizable while the gym is good for only two. The two five star restaurants offer Japanese and French cuisine and there are daily wine tastings in the ample sized bar off the lobby. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms large. Don’t forget a trip into Aix de Provence for the 365 day open market and endless streets of shops.

The hotel is good, the cost of Ctrip is too high, the domestic departure time set more than 2100 hotels, to the hotel will become more than 1800. The difference between the hotel in Geneva has reached more than 400 RMB. It is recommended that you can cancel it. Go to the hotel in advance and buy it at the front desk after refunding.

4-night stay Upside: (1) Space - limited-service apartment concept. Separate bedroom, bathroom, toilet, kitchenette, living room & balcony (within dining table) (2) Location - nearby supermarket & gym (not affiliated with Adagio); walking distance to the old town (3) Laundry room - located near reception; takes credit card payments; but there's only 1 washer and 1 dryer, so plan ahead (4) Quiet - inward facing apartments don't get street noise and face a pleasant internal courtyard Downside: (1) Air-conditioning issue - apparently, there was an ongoing air-conditioning fault affecting some apartments, including the first apartment we were assigned at check-in. Also, apparently, guests were supposed to have been informed about this, but we weren't. None of the correspondence we received prior to check-in mentioned it, neither did anyone mention it at check-in. Initial response when we queried why the apartment wasn't getting cool was the offer of a standing fan. This was completely unacceptable given the high summer temperatures (＞30C) in a west-facing (afternoon sun) apartment. It would have been too uncomfortable to sleep, even with a standing fan. Not to mention the lack of transparency. After further enquiries, including regarding repair timing (several days!), suddenly another apartment, with functioning air-conditioning, became available. As Adagio is part of a major international hotel brand, issue could've been better handled by offering affected guests, whether in advance or at check-in, the option of (a) transfer to a similar-class property (in-network or otherwise) at no cost; (b) full refund; or (c) fully-transparent ”informed” acceptance of apartment with faulty air-conditioning.

Unexpectedly nice! We came to this hotel for one night because it's near the TGV station and we'd been unable to get into our hotel in Aix's old town until next day... This hotel turned out to have really comfortable well decorated modern rooms, excellent helpful staff and very generous extras: such as unlimited free mineral water and croissants in the hall, and free beer for anyone who didn't want to watch the rugby world cup in the restaurant/bar. (I should add that the hotel was quiet and so were the guests). A real effort has been made with the small landscaped garden and play areas, the swimming pool was clean and pleasant even though it was the end of the season, and the outlook very green over the golf course. The breakfast was absolutely the best I have ever had in France, with real French cheeses instead of the usual processed stuff, and fresh fruit and proper patisseries as well as eggs (and the meat was doubtless good too). The location was the main flaw for guests like us wishing to avoid using a car. It is a short taxi ride from the TGV station, but a half-hour bus journey to Aix proper through anodyne business areas. The other flaw - which wouldn't affect the sports fans or young families with cars who seem to be the usual guests - was the incredibly tiny bath. Sadly I fell trying to get out of that bath and am still dealing with the injury. I must add that we had come back again at very short notice for one further night, and again the staff were excellent and so was the room in all other respects...I should have used the shower that night instead!

Is this the worst hotel I’ve stayed at? No. Was it good? Also no. Let me start with the positives. The property is gorgeously landscaped. You feel like you’re in a private oasis. The pool is very nice, but during peak summer hours the chairs are scarce. The breakfast buffet was fine. Restaurant staff were friendly enough. And on to the bad. I can’t believe this is a 5-star hotel. It’s overpriced and the rooms feel dated. The front desk employees were the least friendly we encountered during our 2+ week excursion in France. One evening we requested in advance that a taxi be called to take us into town. The gentleman at the desk said no problem. When we came back down to the lobby an hour later, a different woman was at the desk and said she had no record of our reservation and instead of offering to immediately call a taxi, sort of argued with us and continued to insist no such reservation existed. We were given the odd 2-story room…the bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom was down a narrow and steep flight of stairs. Overall it was annoying having to trek bath and forth. The room was also unbearably hot despite the ACs being on. We kept the window’s curtains closed during the day, but this didn’t seem to help. After a day of sightseeing, we came back to our room to find housekeeping had opened the curtain and turned off both AC units. It was absolutely miserable. The bed was uncomfortable, lumpy in areas. On the final night, we finally asked for a fan which they did provide. We had quite the unsettling experience when our hotel door was unlocked and 2 hotel employees appeared inside our door at nearly 11pm. I was dead asleep with earplugs in when they turned on the lights, we kind of just stared at each other and they finally closed the door. Completely bizarre. Finally, the location is subpar. While it’s only a 15-20 walk to the center of Aix, you really miss out on the charm of the town. Bottom line, I would never stay here again.

We stayed for three nights. Overall, we don’t feel that Le Pigonnet should currently be open. It is our impression that the staff agree. The hotel is currently communicating to guests that the late arrival of building materials accounts for the extent of current building works. We find this hard to believe- months after re-opening, the ongoing works are very extensive. The hotel seems many many months away from finishing building works as of July 2024. Esprit de France is a large hospitality company, and this hotel is one of their flagship properties. We feel they are showing disregard for their guests (and employees) by remaining open. We feel this decision was likely made by a corporate entity with little empathy for the guests, or employees. I want to paint a picture of the state of the hotel: - The main hotel building and restaurant are empty shells- there is literally no floor, plumbing, or electricity. There are no windows or doors (though these were being installed in front of breakfasting guests during our stay) - There is nowhere indoors for breakfast. When we enquired where breakfast would be moved if it rained during service (and it did, though only lightly), we were met with a shrug. We imagine it is the same for lunch and dinner. - There are no indoor spaces/lounges/bar areas for anyone arriving early prior to check-in or for someone who simply wants to sit - The hotel “office/reception” has a single toilet and vanity for staff and guests - To hide the building works the hotel has invested in what would be tens of thousands of dollars of potted plants. They are still in plastic tubs, and blow over in inclement weather (literally onto guests during our first breakfast). Some have died and not been moved. - During outdoor breakfast service, there were multiple tradespeople visible literally feet from guests. There was drilling and hammering. This was on a Saturday and Sunday (after being told no building works would take place on the weekend). Breakfast was (in spite of earnest staff) such a comedy that we were entertained. - Guest Wifi regularly drops out entirely (why renovation would effect this is a mystery) We were initially accommodated in a room in a separate villa from the main hotel. This was thehe worst rooms we have ever stayed in (arriving at 1am we felt unable to complain to the pleasant night porter). We could hear when the person staying in the room above us was going to the toilet. This was not only because every shoeless footstep was clearly audible, but also because the unclad drainage pipe ran straight through our dressing room. Every drop of liquid from the room above could be heard tinkling through the pipes. The floor was so dusty that our feet were brown from stepping to the toilet. The bath and shower area stank (and there was no toilet in this space). This space, which does not seem to be under renovation (comical really given the rest of the property is) should be closed.
