"I'd heard great things about Backpacker Ten Years (Beibao Shinian) for a while, and experiencing it in Hangzhou definitely confirms it's the best hostel in China. Check-in starts at 2 PM, and they provide a bottle of water, slippers, and a towel – things many other hostels don't offer, but Backpacker Ten Years does. The first floor has a bar and social common area, the second floor is a reading space, and the fourth floor is for accommodations. The environment is really clean. I also experienced a strong hostel culture here, playing Werewolf and going out with new friends. My two-day stay was so enriching, I'll definitely choose Backpacker Ten Years again next time!"

"Considering it was a bustling Qingming Festival holiday, the price for this hostel was quite reasonable. The room itself was decent and felt pretty private, with a curtain on the wooden partition. It has shared bathrooms, and you have to change into slippers upstairs. It's located in an alley next to the Chocolate Museum on Hefang Street, and I almost missed it the first time. Even though it's in a commercial area, it's surprisingly soundproof; I couldn't hear any outside noise from my room. It's just a short walk to Wushan and the Hangzhou Museum, and a couple of blocks to Listening to Orioles in the Willows (Liulang Wenying), so the location is excellent. You can even take an evening stroll along West Lake."

"The front desk staff were incredibly patient and gentle, just absolutely wonderful! 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Choosing this hostel for my trip was definitely the right decision; the overall experience exceeded my expectations, and I'm extremely satisfied. The location is excellent, not far from the subway station and tourist attractions, making it very convenient for getting around and finding food. It's also easy to locate. The hostel itself is clean and cozy, with public areas that are simply and comfortably furnished, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Everything is thoroughly cleaned, the beds are tidy, and there's plenty of storage space. The bathroom areas are dry-wet separated and impeccably clean, with no unpleasant odors. The staff are warm, friendly, and approachable, always patiently answering any questions. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time and wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers!"

"It was pretty good! The service was excellent. The only minor issue was that the place was a bit hard to find at first, as it's connected to a bookstore. The hostel itself has a fridge and a microwave, though the microwave takes a little longer to heat things up. Overall, it's quite convenient. The toilet is also pretty smart. I'd definitely recommend staying here, especially since it's an easy walk to Lu Xun's Former Residence and Shen Garden."

"The location is pretty good, close to West Lake and the subway station, making it easy to find. There's a 'Xiaohongche' (shared bike station) right downstairs at the entrance. Floors 8-10 all belong to the same establishment, with the front desk on the 9th floor. Floors 8 and 9 are for accommodation, and the 10th floor is for recreational activities. It would be better if the male and female dorms were on separate floors, as currently, there are both male and female dorms on the same floor."

"強推大家來杭州玩住這家青旅，首先，價格非常友好，地理位置超級超級超級優越，就在西湖旁邊，離西湖很近，離地鐵口幾百米，去靈隱寺也很便利，坐公交很便利順暢。住宿環境超級超級好，有超級大的陽台，還有很大的公共活動區域，洗手間，床鋪都非常乾淨，提供一次性洗漱用品，浴巾，還有拖鞋，非常齊全，辦入住的小姐姐超級超級超級超級超級好，不僅免費給我們升了有窗的房間，而且！！！！我退房離開後，人在紹興，突然發現眼鏡落在了青旅，洗臉的時候放在洗手枱上忘記了，當我想起來眼鏡沒帶後，非常着急（作者超級近視），再很慌亂中，我撥打了青旅的電話，小姐姐非常有耐心，超級細心問我房間號，床鋪好，她不僅問了早上打掃的同事，自己又親自去這個房間幫我找，在房間沒找到候，小姐姐主動加我微信，很耐心的讓我回憶早上的行動軌跡，最終在洗手間的夾縫處找到了，我超級超級超級近視，真的很感謝小姐姐，很快的就把我得眼鏡郵寄到了我的手裡。這家青旅很安全，很熱心，很乾凈，歡迎大家去杭州遊玩住這家！！！再次感謝小姐姐！！！！👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻"

"What surprised me most about the facilities was that the toilets even had smart toilet seats! This is a feature that even top budget hotels don't usually have, yet this hostel, which costs only 30 or 40 yuan a night in the off-season, actually has it! However, since it's positioned as a hostel and caters to older guests, this seems to contradict the concept of a hostel, resulting in a rather mixed clientele and room for improvement in the overall quality of the guests."

"I was really satisfied with the room; it offered great value for money. This guesthouse is quite unique, located within an ancient building. Best of all, there was no formaldehyde smell from renovations, which I'm very sensitive to. While it might be a bit old and small, the overall experience was excellent. They even have their own restaurant, which hosts events every night at 9 PM, like movie screenings, dancing, and releasing river lanterns. The value here is truly unbeatable. Plus, the location is superb – just a 3-minute walk to Lu Xun's Former Residence, right within the scenic area. Highly recommend it, it's really good!"

"It's not really a hostel; it's more like a converted shared room with bunk beds. The advantages are the cheap price and its proximity to the South Railway Station (about a 7-8 minute walk if you walk quickly). Also, the navigation isn't very accurate; just go up to the second floor from the Eiffel Hotel. The disadvantages are that the male and female floors aren't separated, and there are multiple designated smoking areas right outside the rooms. As soon as you walk in, there are four or five people smoking, creating a thick cloud of smoke and a terrible smell. Even though there are designated tables for dining outside, why are the smoking areas in the hallway outside the rooms? There are at least four or five ashtrays outside, making the whole place reek of smoke, which even wafts into the rooms. It's too much of a catering service for smokers. I booked a four-person room with air conditioning and a bathroom inside. It appeared clean (I didn't use the shower, so I don't know how well it works). The beds were simple, with a lamp and a small cabinet. The sheets and pillows looked old, with loose threads and holes, making it uncomfortable to sleep on, especially the pillows which were flat. It was barely usable for one night."

"The room was clean and tidy, the facilities were complete, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The front desk service was warm and thoughtful and the check-in was fast. The location is excellent, the travel is convenient, the surrounding environment is quiet, the overall price is very high, and the stay experience is very good."
