"This hotel is like a time capsule from the 90s. The carpets, decor, colours, everything has been meticulously maintained over the years. It feels like a nostalgic trip back to a bygone era in Shanghai's biggest boom period. Hotel staff are efficient and friendly. The beds/sheets were nice and the rooms very extremely clean. Within 2 minutes of walking you can step into the ”old” Shanghai."

"I cannot rave enough about this hotel. From start to finish everything about my stay here was incredible. Thank you Xiao Wu and Xiao Ting for making this stay great. Xiao Wu especially was lovely. He created a kind, warm, and professional first impression of the hotel. The room itself was unlike any I've ever stayed in which is why I chose it. Often pictures do not live up to the reality, but I feel like this room surpassed it. Another poster mentioned the costumes, which were indeed a cute touch. However, what stood out to me were the other small, but meaningful touches. There were bath salts near the bath which also had artificial rose petals and an eye steam mask on the sink. The bed was also strewn with petals without me having to especially request any of it. It really meant to the spa/romantic escape atmosphere. There was also a tub cover and toilet seat cover for sanitary use and floor towels for both the shower and the tub for safety. Five Senses: This room appealed to all of them. Touch: The bath towels themselves were the softest I've ever had at a hotel as was the robe. It wasn't the usual rough, abrasive texture. I don't know what they use differently their laundry, but it works!! The bed was also super comfortable Hearing: I don't know if it was because of the location of the room or the way the room is designed, but it was also the quietest stay I have ever had in a hotel. I didn't hear a peep from my neighbors. Even if I had, I could have used the thoughtfully included ear plugs. Smell: I'm not sure what the fragrance was, but the room smelled incredible. No smoke. No mildew. No bleach. Not overwhelming perfumed either. The scent was subtle but unmistakable and soothing. Sight: Aesthetically pleasing in every way. A serene retreat from the sun, the heat, the busyness, and the bleakness and sterility of the city. The the many textures appealed not only to the hands, but to the eyes. Taste: Water, tea (with real leaves and tea set), coffee, and soda are in the room. I was also offered some delicious cherry tomatoes to snack on when I checked in. I could continue, but I've gone on long enough!! 😅 TLDR; Well worth the time, money, and an extended stay. Wonderful staff. Clean, aesthetically pleasing room with many comforts and amenities. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again."

"I've stayed here before and found the breakfast and service to be excellent. This time, I chose the same hotel again, and it was just as good – affordable, hassle-free, and convenient. The room was quite spacious, there's a delivery room for parcels, and the cleaning staff was very friendly. The food delivery robot even brings meals right to your room, which is super convenient and keeps things neat. What truly stood out was when my suitcase wheel broke. I bought new wheels and wanted to borrow a screwdriver from the front desk to fix it. Instead, the front desk called over someone from the engineering department. To my surprise, the engineer took the time to replace all four wheels for me, and there was no extra charge! This level of service was incredibly impressive. It really shows how warm and attentive hotel service in China can be. I'm truly grateful."

"I chose the Vienna International Hotel nearby when I went to pick up my child from Pudong Airport. The shuttle bus service to and from the airport was very convenient. I just called the driver, told him the exact pick-up and drop-off times and locations, and he even helped me with my luggage onto the bus. Upon entering the hotel, I felt right at home. The front desk staff greeted me warmly and checked me in quickly. There were also two kinds of hot tea and a coffee machine available nearby. I needed to print some documents, and it was great that the lobby had a computer and printer for guests to use. Both the hallways and the room were clean and tidy, with a very European decor. On the first floor, there's a washing machine and dryer, which was fantastic for getting laundry done quickly. I also tried a few Shanghainese dishes at a restaurant in the alley next to the hotel, and they were quite delicious. The hotel breakfast was very rich and plentiful. Overall, choosing this hotel was an excellent decision and a great experience."

"Located near the South Plaza, it's very close to both the train station and the subway. The room had a mini-fridge and plenty of drinking water. Breakfast was good, especially the freshly made noodles – the beef noodle soup had a generous amount of beef!"

"I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The overall condition of the property feels relatively new, and everything—from the rooms to the common areas—was kept clean, neat, and well-maintained. What really stood out was the staff. The front desk team was exceptionally friendly and genuinely helpful. They were proactive in offering assistance without needing to be asked, which made the experience feel very welcoming. One staff member in particular left a strong impression with her warmth and professionalism—I just regret not catching her name. The location is decent, about a 10–15 minute walk to the nearest train station, which is manageable and convenient enough for getting around. Breakfast was good, though the selection remained quite similar over the two mornings I stayed. Not a major issue, but something to note for longer stays. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I would definitely consider staying here again."

"Back in Shanghai, I always stay at this hotel. The front desk staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the housekeeping auntie is really nice. She even folded my clothes! Her name is Xu Yuanying, and she's a very kind person. I hope management recognizes her excellent service! Give her a pat on the back, haha."

"This Bund hotel stay was absolutely amazing! It's just a 5-minute walk to the riverside, and my room had floor-to-ceiling windows with a perfect view of the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' – I could watch the Oriental Pearl Tower light up at night right from my bed. The smart toilet and automatic curtains were super convenient, and soaking in the bathtub while enjoying the river view was just heavenly! The freshly baked croissants at breakfast were so good they were practically addictive. The rooftop bar had incredible night views, and the cocktails created a fantastic ambiance. The front desk even proactively upgraded my room and sent welcome fruits, and the robot delivering food was adorable. The soundproofing was excellent; I slept like a baby until I woke up naturally. Plus, free laundry and drying service was such a thoughtful touch! The location is unbeatable – Yu Garden and Nanjing Road are within walking distance, and the subway station is right outside. For around 400+ RMB per person, it felt like a thousand-yuan experience. As a detail-oriented person, I was completely won over. I'm definitely booking this place again on my next trip to Shanghai!"
