"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to choose from each morning. The rooms were beautifully designed, clean, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day.
The location is also a big plus—conveniently situated close to everything you need, which made exploring the area very easy. The staff were friendly, professional, and always helpful. Special thanks to Tim and the team for making our stay so smooth and enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again."

"I booked this hotel last minute for less than 350 RMB. It was a standard room and included breakfast for two. Since there were three of us, the lovely front desk staff gave us an extra breakfast voucher, plus some Coke and other drinks. The service was excellent.
They offer an airport shuttle service, which seems to depart every 40 minutes. It's a large bus, so if you're flying into Pudong Airport, this hotel is a really great option.
The breakfast was a buffet, with both Chinese and Western options. It was very nutritious. I noticed a lot of foreigners in the restaurant; perhaps they also favor this brand?
The room was quite spacious, and the facilities were new and very clean. The overall style was modern, fresh, and comfortable.
My check-in experience deserves a five-star rating. However, we had a tight schedule, checking in at 10 PM and checking out by 8 AM. Otherwise, I would have loved to stay longer, haha."

"We stayed at the hotel from April 4th to 7th. The location is quite convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was very affordable—just 88¥ for four meals—which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms and common areas were clean and well-maintained. The only issue we encountered was with the bathroom door, which was difficult to slide. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with good value for money.

"Great location, and the facilities are decent. It's super convenient to get to the North Bund, and Raffles City is right across the street for easy dining options. For taxis, you'll need to go to the intersection nearby for pick-up/drop-off as you can't park directly at the main entrance. This was my first time in all my years using Trip.com that I had to show the order number to the front desk when checking in. Usually, all hotels just need your ID or the name on the reservation. It was quite a novel experience. Even overseas, when there's a language barrier, showing the confirmation letter is usually fine, but not here – you absolutely need the order number…"

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed.
Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free.
The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all.
Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

MMaria.ezI booked this hotel expecting a proper 4-star stay, but unfortunately, it felt closer to a hostel in terms of comfort and service.
The biggest issue was the room temperature. The AC only works for cooling — even in cold weather. The receptionist told us at check-in that there’s no heating. I was traveling with my son, and after a freezing night, he got sick and I woke up with a sore throat. Going to a cold bed after a long day is just miserable. The cleaner kept turning the AC back to cooling mode after each cleaning, so we’d return to an even colder room.
There’s a smart toilet with a warm seat — ironic, given the rest of the room was like an icebox. No bathrobe either. Shower was fine, but that’s about it.
Breakfast was very mediocre. Rice and side dishes were cold, the place was overcrowded, and many tables stayed dirty for a long time with no staff helping. The only positive: coffee was good.
Service attitude felt like “whatever mode” — not what you’d expect from a 4-star. I asked for an upper floor with a view during booking, but it was completely ignored. I chose a room with a window — ended up on the 3rd floor facing another building’s windows, with rubbish bins downstairs. I could see into the neighbors’ apartments. Worst view I’ve ever had.
They also claim on their website that currency exchange is available, but when I asked, staff told me to wait for banks to open and go there myself.
The location is just okay — 10 min walk to Yu Garden and subway, 25 min to Nanjing Lu. Laundry room is a plus (free detergent), but expect a queue in the evening.
Overall, this is a very average hotel. Definitely not 4-star. If there’s no other choice, it’s tolerable — but there are many better places to stay near Yu Garden. I would not recommend this hotel.

It's just a short walk to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and within easy walking distance of The Bund, Shanghai People's Heroes Memorial Tower, Holy Trinity Church, and The Old Bund City Hall, among other attractions. Public transport, like the metro or bus, is easily accessible nearby and can take you to places such as City God Temple, Yu Garden, and the Shanghai Museum (People's Square branch). The room itself is spacious and clean. The shower pressure is excellent with consistent water temperature. Free water is also readily available and accessible in the lift lobby area. The staff are courteous, friendly, and always ready to assist. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we visit Shanghai.

The front desk was also very welcoming and efficient during check-in. Whenever I had questions during my stay, the hotel staff responded and helped me right away. Even the breakfast at the restaurant was delicious (I personally loved it!). The housekeeping staff kept the room very clean, and anything I needed was delivered promptly. The location is also super convenient for getting around. It completely exceeded my expectations! I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

The room was spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed, with a modern yet luxurious feel. The highlight was definitely the stunning skyline view—especially at night, the city lights created a breathtaking atmosphere right from the comfort of our room. It was a perfect setting to relax and unwind.

GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

CCurious TravellerGreat location if you are heading for Disneyland or has an early flight to catch the next morning. Otherwise it is quite far from Shanghai city center - JingAn area- with no traffic - 45 min taxi ride) The hotel offers free shuttle to Disneyland which departs the hotel at 7:20am; and returns to the hotel at 10:20pm. It was a bit late for us since we finished watching the fireworks at 830pm. (Disneyland closes at 9:30pm ). So we just took a taxi (very few people waiting and cost ~RMB50; while the online car service costs ~R30 but the waiting area was very congested.
The free shuttle to Putong airport departs on the hour and starts from 4 or 5am and takes less than 30min. Need to book one day in advance at the front desk.
Our 3 persons family room has a double bed and a proper single bed( not fold up bed). Spacious enough for luggages.
The negatives - we booked and paid for 3 persons - but hotel only offered breakfast for 2. We booked 2 nights but only has breakfast for one day. Strangest arrangement I have ever seen.
BF - has reasonable options of Chinese and western cuisine . Noodle Bar was the best.
Night snack- also has noodle bar with dumplings and congee.

GGuest UserThis classic hotel lives up to its reputation. The facilities are comprehensive and well-maintained, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. Concierges Aaron and Katrina were particularly patient and detailed, making communication pleasant and smooth. Overall, the stay was comfortable and delightful.
The hotel has a timeless charm, beautifully preserved like a beauty who defies age. The Long Bar, specially recommended by the concierge, is also exceptional. With the Bund and Oriental Pearl Tower outside the window and the Waldorf Astoria inside, it offers a truly superb experience of Shanghai's Bund. Highly recommended! 👍
However, do note that you need to be on a higher floor to enjoy a full panoramic view of the Bund. The picture shows the view from the 17th floor.

SsignxService: The best hotel I've ever stayed at! No exaggeration. I've tried many hotels in Shanghai, including Shangri-La (Jingan, Pudong), Ritz-Carlton (Pudong), Peninsula (Bund), Shanghai Tower J-Hotel, Grand Hyatt, Kempinski, Disney hotels, Westin, Kerry Centre, Sheraton... Apart from Banyan Tree, which I'm not interested in, and St. Regis, which I tried in Sanya, and Waldorf Astoria, which I haven't had the chance to visit yet, I've checked out almost all the hotels my child and I were interested in.
Honestly, W truly impressed me.
From purchasing the package and booking the dates in advance to phone communication, the staff consistently displayed genuine warmth and professionalism. They meticulously noted all my requests, ensuring accurate internal communication.
On the day of arrival, I wasn't feeling well and my tone wasn't great. Yet, the front desk staff listened attentively and with incredible patience throughout. This level of internal training deeply impressed me. There was none of the arrogance I've experienced at the Peninsula or Ritz-Carlton; instead, it was full of understanding for the customer. I actually want to come back and stay again soon! 😂
I even joked with the hotel staff, asking if this excellent service was because I booked a suite. 😝 But then again, I had suites at Shanghai Tower J-Hotel and Ritz-Carlton too, and the service there was... well, let's just say it was different.
At the W, it's not just the front desk and lobby; even the staff helping with the elevator and the cleaning crew in the basement are incredibly cheerful and sincere. I love this fresh, uplifting energy and team.
Facilities: The facilities are clean and hygienic, and every room has a bidet toilet seat, which is a nice touch!
Environment: Very clean, and most importantly, the view across the river is absolutely stunning.
Hygene: The hygiene is excellent, very clean. And their response time is super fast.
If I had to pick one downside, it would be that the配套 facilities at Magnolia Plaza are a bit too low-end, haha. They really don't match the W's standard.

EEyka A.I had a very pleasant stay at Waiting Century Hotel (Shanghai Jing’an Railway Station). The room was clean and comfortable, and the location is very convenient, especially for travellers. It is close to Shanghai Railway Station, metro stations, and there are halal restaurants nearby, which made it very convenient for us as Muslim travellers.
I was also pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded me to a smart room for free, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Another great facility is the self-service laundry, which was very helpful for travellers, especially those staying for several days or travelling with kids.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Shanghai, especially families and Muslim travellers looking for a clean hotel in a strategic location with useful facilities.
