"Our family had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai Hyland. You truly cannot beat the location! Right outside the door is Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making it incredibly easy to step out for shopping and dining with the family. For quick snacks and essentials, there is a very convenient convenience store right on the other side of the property. Plus, the Metro station is only about two blocks away—a very easy, flat, and walkable distance, even if you are managing bags or traveling with kids. The room itself was spotless and well-maintained. After a long day of walking around Shanghai, we always appreciated coming back to a room where the air conditioning was nice and cool. The bathroom was fully stocked with a complete set of amenities, so we didn't have to worry about missing any essentials. The daily breakfast buffet offered a great variety to start the morning. There was a fantastic selection of fresh breads, several coffee machines to keep the parents caffeinated, and an impressive mix of local Chinese cuisine and American classics. Tucked away at the end, you'll find the popular egg station, right next to the meatloaves and hot dim sum plus noodles. There was even a dedicated Korean station, which was a unique touch. The breakfast food is delicious, but the menu doesn't vary much from day to day. If you are staying for a week or longer like we did, it can feel a bit repetitive. We wished they would rotate the choices a bit more. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. Between the unbeatable location, clean rooms, and extensive breakfast options, it’s a highly recommended, stress-free base for families visiting Shanghai!"

"I stayed at the Dayin International Hostel during two trips to Shanghai, and I truly loved my experience both times. The staff is welcoming (Lu, Qi, Zhang), and I met wonderful travelers from all around the world. The rooms are spacious enough, comfortable, and equipped with lockers. There’s also the option to buy drinks, and excellent films are shown in the evenings. The bathrooms are always clean, and despite its central location, the hostel has a calm and relaxing atmosphere - I slept very well. It’s also conveniently located near the subway and several supermarkets. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Shanghai."

"This hotel is excellent! Pros: 1. The entire staff, from the front desk and housekeepers to the concierge and doormen, were incredibly kind, warm, and professional. However, it seemed like they were severely understaffed. I personally witnessed five groups queuing to check in at night with only one front desk agent. They were clearly overwhelmed. 2. The room was spacious, the bathtub was very comfortable, and the water pressure was great. 3. The location is very convenient for both taxis and the subway. Just a heads-up for those with luggage: the nearest subway entrance doesn't have an escalator or elevator. Cons: 1. There were some minor cleanliness issues. A housekeeper left someone else's soap in my room. 2. The curtains didn't reach the floor, so I was woken up by the sunlight in the morning. 3. While the Wi-Fi was usable and fine for Tencent Meeting, it wasn't as fast or reliable as I would have liked."

"I chose this hotel because it's super close to my kid's class, and I was worried about being late. What's really great is that even though it's in the city center, they still offer parking, which many hotels can't provide these days. "The room was very clean, tidy, and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, and having self-service laundry facilities was very convenient. The hotel isn't far from the Bund; you can take bus routes 33, 55, or 123 directly there in one stop. The Bund's night view is beautiful, and iconic landmarks like the Bottle Opener (Shanghai World Financial Center), Egg Beater (Shanghai Tower), and Syringe (Oriental Pearl TV Tower) are definitely worth visiting. "Very satisfied. The executive lounge on the 29th floor offers great food and views. Both the afternoon tea and dinner were excellent, and the service was top-notch. I've always felt that Shangri-La does a great job of blending Western and Chinese cuisine. The room also had a fantastic view. The night scenery was beautiful, though hard to capture in photos. The best part about staying here is that you can just go downstairs to the riverside, which is a must-visit spot. The Western restaurant downstairs is also quite good. It's an excellent choice for bringing the family."

"This hotel is a place where sorcery happens. It was a magic trip, and Novotel Shanghai Atlantis made a very significant contribution to the overall impression. I can be honest to tell you, guys, that it was the most friendly and benevolent staff I'd ever seen in the hospitality industry! We were accommodated right on our early arrival, the room on the 37th floor was perfect, it had mesmerizing view and was perfectly clean. At first the whole window was closed, but I got down to reception and asked to resolve this minor issue because of the allergy. We were immediately allowed to open small window to allow the room to ventilate. Service girl brought a very comfortable extra bed for our adult kid in no time. Housekeeping was perfect all the period of our stay. The revolving restaurant on the 50th floor makes definitely great impression. It's one of the unique features of this hotel. Breakfast is great, there are a great variety of meals and the food quality is high. On checkin-out we decided to thank the staff with a little special chocolate treat (from Russia with love). And it was so cute to see that true and heartful reaction of the reception girls! In a blink of an eye they gave us back with a great chinese jelly treat. I definitely recommend this hotel to all travellers regardless their purpose of visiting."

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

DDingyuanyingI've stayed in many hotels for business trips and vacations, and most of them deserve five-star ratings, especially Mercure. This time, I came to Mercure Hongqiao Central with five-star expectations. Although there were fruit flies in the room and the shower drain smelled, I dealt with them myself and it didn't really affect my mood. That is, until I found out one of the elevators was broken. Waiting for the elevator felt like the morning rush hour in an office building during the week, and I even had to contend with the food delivery robots for space (the elevator still wasn't fixed after two days). Plus, I can't think of any high-rise hotel that only has two elevators. Additionally, I don't know if it's because my Ctrip membership level isn't high enough, but my request for a late checkout at 4 PM was told it would be charged. When I was a Huazhu Platinum member, it was never charged (in fact, there are only a few times a year I need to extend to 4 PM). They said I needed to re-activate my room card at the front desk after 12 PM, but after I had it swiped at the front desk, (and waited for the elevator for a long time) I still couldn't open the room door upstairs... My good impression was slowly worn away. Overall, this experience barely deserves three stars (I wouldn't have even remembered it if the hotel hadn't called afterward asking for a good review). Objectively, the view from the west-facing room was quite good. The golf course diagonally opposite was unobstructed, and there were no tall buildings opposite, so I wasn't afraid to leave the curtains open at night. I could also see planes taking off and landing at Hongqiao Airport. The location was also decent, with many dining options nearby, though it's quite far from the subway station.

GGuest UserThis was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! I was in Shanghai for a concert, and hotels were too expensive, so I booked this hostel just to try it out. The location is superb – right by the Changshu Road subway exit. There are many coffee shops downstairs, and lots of old mansions nearby, with plenty of great places to eat, explore, and do some city walking~ After checking in, a staff member showed me to my room and helped explain the locations of the washrooms, toilets, and showers. The room also came with a set of disposable toiletries. In the common areas, there was always a cleaning lady tidying up, and the restrooms were disinfected after each use, which was incredibly thoughtful! It’s also very close to the Mercedes-Benz Arena, making it convenient to get anywhere! I got back after the concert close to midnight, and there were many girls in the washroom area removing their makeup. I didn't have to worry about safety at all. The female and male washroom areas are far apart, and I didn't see any male guests during my stay, which is great for female travelers. After 11 PM, the hair dryers are put away, and the outlets are locked, so no noise disturbs anyone's rest. The room was very clean. If someone with潔癖 (germophobia) thinks it's clean, then it's *really* clean. The bedding was very comfortable, and climbing to the top bunk was easy. The room wasn't big, but it was just enough for one person, which made me feel very secure. Regarding soundproofing, if you're a very light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend it, as there can be some noise. However, I personally found it fine; I slept very comfortably. I only heard people opening and closing doors, but not sounds from the adjacent rooms. The reception floor has facilities for picking up packages and food deliveries, as well as a common area to relax. It's on a high floor with a great view. There's also a self-service bar for drinks, which I didn't try this time, but I might next time~. Regarding age restrictions, it seems they don't host very young children or very elderly people, but unlike some other hostels, there's no 35-year-old age limit, which is also fantastic! This stay was so good that I almost didn't want to leave this little 'nest'~ I've always wanted to spend more days exploring Shanghai, and next time I visit, I'll definitely consider staying here again. I absolutely loved it! Finally, ending with a checkout photo, because a clean and tidy space is key for a hotel stay~

GGuest UserThis time, I brought my child and elderly parents to Shanghai, and choosing the Bund Oriental Beauty Hotel was absolutely the right decision! The front desk service was incredibly thoughtful; knowing we had a child, they specially upgraded us to a river-view room. At night, lying in bed, we could see the stunning Huangpu River nightscape – it was so beautiful, we didn't want to sleep! Before check-in, we received detailed instructions about the gym, laundry room, and breakfast times. The drinks and mineral water in the room were all complimentary, and the one-click WiFi connection was very convenient. The lounge service was also excellent; the staff were enthusiastic throughout, and they followed up on our needs via WeChat, responding promptly without any perfunctory feel. Hygene, environment, service, and facilities were all perfect. For families traveling with kids, the experience was truly top-notch. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai!

GGuest UserTerrible. Will not stay again. The check-in SOP was unclear, forcing guests to ask multiple questions, even for basic information like breakfast times and location. The room smelled of smoke, possibly due to old or poorly maintained air conditioning. The front desk staff denied there was a smoke smell and only after repeated requests did they show me other rooms, about half of which also smelled of smoke. Their service attitude was both arrogant and perfunctory. The operational procedures were also a mess; for example, after checking in, I found the room didn't even have a kettle and called to request one. Ten minutes later, housekeeping knocked on the door, saying they needed to replace the in-room magazine. It was bizarre to replace a monthly magazine after check-in. The kettle that was eventually delivered was wet inside and out, with a strong disinfectant smell inside. The ice bucket in the room also had water and already smelled foul when opened. The hotel management is riddled with loopholes everywhere; quality is in the details. The hard furnishings like the toilet and bathtub in the room were old, the shower handle was broken, and the water pressure was worse than a 3 or 4-star hotel. The linens were average. However, the bedding and mattress were good.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a minimalist Japanese style, with a clean and atmospheric environment. The staff are very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport on the hour, which is super convenient for catching flights – a big plus! However, staying for four consecutive days, the breakfast selection was incredibly monotonous and never changed. It got really boring after a while. The late-night snack options were also very limited, with only noodles and congee available – far too few choices. Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that the indoor air felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, always with a stale odor. My room was close to the road, so opening the window meant car noise, but closing it made the room stuffy and smelly, which significantly reduced my comfort. On a positive note, they thoughtfully gave me a small souvenir when I checked out, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the service and airport shuttle were good, but the stay would be much better if they could improve the breakfast variety, add more late-night snack options, enhance room ventilation and soundproofing, and eliminate the stale indoor smell.

GGuest UserThis was honestly one of the most memorable hotel stays we have ever experienced. We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong to celebrate my girlfriend’s 23rd birthday during our first trip to Shanghai together, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Before arrival, Assistant Guest Recognition Manager Yana Ivleva kindly communicated with us by email and thoughtfully helped arrange everything for the celebration. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel welcomed even before we arrived at the hotel. The room decoration, birthday cake, handwritten card, flowers, and beautiful Bund view created such a special atmosphere for us. Every detail felt thoughtful and heartfelt rather than simply formal hotel service. The hotel itself was also outstanding — the room condition, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool, and especially the incredible night view of Shanghai were all amazing. Flair Rooftop Bar was also a wonderful experience for enjoying the skyline and atmosphere. What impressed us the most, however, was the hospitality. Yana and the staff truly made this stay unforgettable for us, and thanks to them, our first trip to Shanghai became a memory we will cherish for a very long time. We are sincerely grateful to The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong and will absolutely look forward to returning again in the future.

What moved me even more was how Deslin noticed my travel fatigue and proactively helped me upgrade to a quieter, more comfortable room, even thoughtfully preparing welcome fruit and a heartfelt handwritten note. The check-in process was efficient and smooth, and throughout, Deslin maintained a gentle tone, answering all my questions, which instantly helped me shed all my travel weariness. This genuine care and professional service truly define what it means to feel at home. Kudos to Deslin, and I look forward to meeting such an outstanding person again on my next stay! 🌟

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! This is one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever stayed in. Coming from the Disney Hotel's executive room, I instantly felt like the money spent here was truly worth it! First, the room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and both the lounge area and bathroom are generously sized. The toiletries are Aesop, and the kids' toiletries are also excellent! Second, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and there's an à la carte menu too – I couldn't get enough of it. Furthermore, the location is superb. You can walk to the Bund, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Also, the concierge service was wonderful and proactive. With lots of luggage and kids, they eagerly helped with transfers to and from the car, saving us from many awkward moments. Overall, the experience was fantastic. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.
