Hotel the Royal Shalimar
3.7/543 Reviews
Stayed at hotel the royal shalimar for three nights and had a mixed experience. The first room we were given lacked basic amenities like a towel rack, and had an unpleasant odor. Despite requesting an additional towel for our party of three, the staff seemed hesitant to accommodate us. However, upon shifting to another room the next day, our experience improved significantly. The new room was spacious, clean, and pleasant. The hotel's dinner options were disappointing, and the lack of nearby restaurants made dining out inconvenient. However, the complimentary breakfast provided some relief. The breakfast spread included idli, sambar, chutney, poori masala, vada, and a small serving of papaya and musk melon. Although there were no egg dishes or other options, the breakfast was satisfactory. Unfortunately, the quality of the breakfast declined on the second day, with limited choices and no fruits available. On a positive note, the hotel offered ample open parking space, and the bed was comfortable for a good night's sleep. The staff, despite initial hesitance with our requests, proved helpful for the remainder of our stay. Overall, hotel the royal shalimar has potential but needs improvement in certain areas such as room maintenance and dining options.

Crystal Inn

Good hospitality. Rooms are neat and clean. Staffs are good. Only discomfort that I felt was on the parking with in the building. Though there is an underground parking, it would have been good if more space is available as the vehicle has to park back to back and require people to wait for others to take out the vehicle.
The Silver Sky Hotels and Resorts
4.9/5110 Reviews
HIDDEN GEM IN COFFE PLANTATIONS We stayed at Sliver sky resort for new year eve from 31st dec to 3rd Jan. We stumbled upon Silver sky by chance, we had a wonderful stay, new year eve gala was well organized and fun filled, we even won lucky draw ( prize was free one nights stay for couple ) The resort is just 11 months old, very well maintained, the rooms are spacious and well equipped, and quality of furniture and amenities ware of top class, comparable to top resorts we visited in Maldives. The resort is amidst the coffee plantation with beautiful view of mullayanagiri peak( 45 min drive form resort ) from room balcony, you can spend whole day in balcony with a book in hand, resort is 20 min from chiakkamagalur city with good road accessibility. The pool was kept clean, couldn't use it much because of cold weather, but the play room kept us busy after breakfast and dinner. Food was great Chef Ashok was of grest help in getting the food tailored to the palates my European wife and kids and restaurant staff Eshwar, shivanand service was top class. the front office staff Mani and Pratap ware always ready to help us. We got a chance to meet the owner and managing director , she was a very nice lady, with preference for good service rather than money, rare to see in these days. We loved the place so much we extended our stay for one more day, we left the place with good memories hoping to return to Silver sky again in the near future. Pros : Easy accessibility, well maintained, spacious rooms, good service and tasty food Cons : Nothing i can think of , may be a heated pool ( May not be practical for south indian weather ) Room advise - Choose a higher elevation room for good views.
Shree Hari Residency
3.7/52 Reviews
Shreehari residency is very comfortable for family accommodation. It is worth compared to prices charged. Drawback is limited parking but still they arranged it nearer government office.
Bindiga Peak Resorts
3.7/581 Reviews
Overall, the stay was not worth the cost, and it's unclear how this resort was rated 4 stars. Rooms: The room looked nice but was located on the second floor with no elevator access. Room cleaning was not done on the second day of our stay. Used plates and leftover food were left uncleaned until the next night. After several reminders, the cleaning staff finally cleaned the plates but failed to clean the room. The standards maintained by the resort are questionable. Food: Breakfast had a very limited spread and the menu was the same both days. The taste was very average, and the bread was hard and seemingly old. It was also out of stock by 9 AM, and the staff claimed they didn't have more. A specific group received special treatment with various items served directly to their table, while we had to remind the staff multiple times just to get water. Dinner was equally disappointing. The soups were thick like curries and tasted awful. The Chinese dishes, such as ginger chicken and chicken Manchurian, did not taste authentic and were unpalatable. Entertainment: There were no events, entertainment, or programs to keep the guests engaged. Overall, the experience did not live up to the expectations set by the resort's rating.
