"Everything was good overall. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The only issue was the terrible soundproofing. I could hear everything the people next door were doing late at night – making noise and singing. It was so clear! 😂 Eventually, someone must have complained and knocked on their door, because it immediately went silent. Guess they knew they were being loud, but just didn't care until someone actually knocked. 😂"

"Staying in the heart of George Town, Penang, offers a nostalgic step back in time. My guesthouse was tucked away on a remarkably quiet side street, providing a peaceful escape from the city’s usual roar. However, just a short stroll away, the neighborhood transformed into a vibrant local night market, filled with the aroma of sizzling char kway teow and bright neon signs. The accommodation itself was modest. My room was quite small, suited strictly for one person, and the dim lighting created a moody, old-world atmosphere that felt like a movie set. Like many traditional heritage shophouses, the bathroom and toilets were located outside the room, shared among all guests. While simple, the central location and authentic local vibe made it a memorable stay."

"I stayed at Swing & Pillows @75 Muntri in a queen-size room and had a good overall experience for the price. The bed was soft and comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the shared bathroom was clean. The location is easy to find, with nice streets and surroundings to explore nearby. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and fresh the place felt. The facilities are excellent for a budget stay, including a microwave, fridge, water dispenser, and a small kitchen for guests. The room itself was spotless and well-maintained. However, the walls are quite thin, so noise from other guests can be easily heard, especially doors and footsteps at night. The staircase is also narrow and requires some caution. Overall, AQ offers great value for money and is a good choice for budget travelers, as long as you don’t mind some noise."

"This stay was great, and I especially want to commend the hotel's service. From the moment we entered to check-in, the staff greeted us with smiles, and the process was quick and smooth. Whenever we had any questions, the front desk staff patiently answered and promptly assisted us. Overall, the service was meticulous and heartwarming, and the hotel offered excellent value for money. "The hotel's location is excellent and easy to find. My room was a bit close to the road, so it was quiet at night but a little noisy during the day. The rooftop is also a great spot for drying clothes."

"The first room given on the top floor with beautiful bright stained windows (just like the ones featured) has cigarette smell. The top floor has an open area for smoking. Despite the convenience of an outdoor smoking area, the room still smelled like cigarette (even though the open area doesn't smell of anything at all). So, I moved to the 1st floor which is less bright and less aesthetic. In the room that I finally occupy, cleanliness is good in the bedroom, but the sink in the bathroom has dark mold on the silicone. Mold in the bathroom seems to be a recurring theme in every hotel I stayed in Malaysia during my visit from June to July. Given the humid climate, and perhaps some guests forgetting to leave the fan on to dry the bathroom after use when they're in the room (when electricity is turned by the card), mold becomes prevalent. Maybe a quarterly or monthly inspection and deep cleaning program is helpful to keep the mold at bay. I won't name the other hotels here. The concierge is responsive. The surface cleaning when done, is good. But there seems to be an issue with signaling for the room to be cleaned. When I swapped the sign outside the room to make up room from do not disturb the first time, nobody actually did housekeeping. I once saw the cleaner knocking on door with ”Do Not Disturb” for housekeeping. Perhaps the cleaner is illiterate. But anyway, as long as you ask the concierge directly for housekeeping, someone would come even if you only need change of towels."

"I booked the 4-bed dorm thinking that only 4 guests would use the shower & toilet. But apparently, the 2 shower-toilet combined were used by all the other rooms & dorms. It was getting awkward with many females frequently entering the washroom area. A room no.205 has access directly through the washroom.. Weird! (picture attached). I could hear some odd conversations between 2 boys & a girl from that room while brushing teeth in the morning. The dorm which was sufficient only for one single bed is filled with 2 bunk beds, so there is no space at all in the dorm room. You have to directly jump onto the bed. My dorm room was on second floor with no elevator. The only 3 good points about this hostel are that they provide a towel for hostel beds, is located on a main street in Georgetown, and has complementary breakfast for everyone (bread-butter-jam, tea-coffee, and watermelon). Wifi & AC were good."

"This hotel is still relatively new, and one of its unique features is that it occupies two separate buildings facing each other, rather than having all the rooms in a single building. One building contains the café, where breakfast is served, along with about eight guest rooms, while the other building is used exclusively for guest rooms and rises to three floors (or about two and a half floors). As noted by other guest reviews, there is no elevator. The wooden staircase is quite steep, so if you are travelling with large suitcases, the hotel recommends asking a staff member to help carry your luggage. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Some hotel amenities are not listed on Trip.com information, so you may need to contact the hotel directly for more detailed information. However, their responses are not always prompt. There were also a few inconsistencies between the information provided by Trip.com and the hotel. One example, Trip.com advises guests to notify the hotel one or two days before arrival if they require services such as early check-in, but the hotel did not provide any guidance regarding this. Most of the information guests need is only explained by the staff upon arrival. Breakfast is served from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, which is different from the schedule at most hotels. Although the menu is limited, the food is delicious and the portions are satisfying. Guests often wait in the café while their rooms are being prepared. If you need any additional room amenities or supplies, simply ask the hotel staff. They will show you a list of available items and provide whatever you request. Overall, this is a comfortable, clean, and modern hotel that offers excellent value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Melmond Maison Hotel, and I especially appreciated the kindness and friendliness of the staff, particularly Sohanur Rohman, who was exceptionally helpful throughout my stay. He truly served the guests wholeheartedly. One suggestion is, since there is only one chair that is for the dressing table, maybe the hotel can provide a backrest chair, so that guests who need to use the table for a fairly long period of time can lean back comfortably and avoid shoulder pain. "Had a pleasant stay at Hotel 22! The location was very convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions, food, and public transport. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The self check-in and check-out machine was also very convenient and made the process fast and hassle-free. Overall, a good experience and great value for money. Would definitely consider staying again in the future!"
