"Less than 200 RMB for two nights, and breakfast included? Can't really complain, can I? My two-night stay was great, except for the lack of TV and broken Wi-Fi. Breakfast was simple but sufficient; the freshly made omelet was pretty good. Two slices of toast with butter, a cup of coffee, and two pieces of fruit – I was satisfied. In the evenings, there were some great food stalls right outside: that Indian bread with three dips that I later found delicious and cheap in Kuala Lumpur. Across the street, there was a char kway teow stall with a queue for 7 MYR. Further down, past the traffic lights in a small alley, you could find seafood like prawns, clams, and snails. A bit further, I recommend the wanton mee run by a father and daughter; right next to it was oyster omelet. And at the end of this street, there was even curry chicken bread and coffee shops, haha."

"Budget hotel which meet your expectations. Before checking in, please set your expectations. This is not Shangrila or Grand Hyatt level. If your expectation is correct, then money well spent. 2 big queen size bed, decent shower, probably is best value point relative ro other budget hotel in Malacca. Location in Semabok, outskirts from main tourist spot but who cares if you know what you want. Obviously need transport to move around."

"I chose to stay here because I wanted to experience the Malacca described in books, and traveling alone with two kids, I didn't want to rush. The hotel is quiet, and there's a water dispenser on every floor. The front desk staff's English was clear, and they even allowed us to check in early. Although the room was a bit small, it felt nice. The location is also excellent; we walked to all the popular Instagrammmable spots."

Need to install Malacca parking apps as no free parking but very cheap parking fee. Overall good budget hotel, walking distance to Mahkota Parade (10 minutes walk)"

"The first picture shows the hotel exterior, taken from across the street. The interior matches the product description. We stayed in a family room with one large and one small bed. The hotel isn't brand new, but the staff were very friendly. It's easy to get a taxi from here; it's not far from the Red Square or the Melaka Straits Mosque, but a taxi is still the most convenient option. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, which is really handy. Jonker Street has a night market from Friday to Sunday evenings, which is much livelier than during the week. If you're visiting, I'd recommend going on a weekend for a more authentic experience."

"The staff were all excellent (at the counter, housekeeping). The room and bed were clean, cool, the AC was strong, and the bathroom was also clean! There's a spot to hang out. There's also storage space under the bed. Next to the bed, there's a hook and a night lamp. Everything was great!!! No noise, I slept soundly. By the way, I booked for a solo female, the environment felt safe, no disturbances whatsoever. Parking is available in front of the hostel. Definitely will come again!"

I recently stayed at this budget hotel, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. While the check-in process via WhatsApp was smooth and convenient, the overall condition of the hotel was poor. The biggest issue was the cleanliness. The room did not feel well maintained, and the bedsheets and towels were old, worn out, and noticeably yellowish, which made the stay quite uncomfortable.

Melaka is definitely worth an overnight stay; many people just do day trips, but Melaka at night has a special charm. E’ House is run by a Chinese family, so communication in Chinese was very smooth. The room had a lovely Nanyang-style vibe, and the facilities were excellent. Although the soundproofing wasn't great, the customer service assistant responded immediately after we gave feedback, and we still managed to get a good night's sleep. From the guesthouse, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the Melaka River, and then you can follow the river all the way to Jonker Street.

Overall, the experience was acceptable the ocation was convenient about a 10-15 minute ride to the city centre, which made getting around quite easy. However, there were several issues during our stay Cleanliness: We noticed some smallinsects on the floor. While it didn't significantly affect aur stay, it would be better if the rooms could be more thoroughly checked and cleaned. Customer Service: All communication had to be done online through WhatsApp, as there was no face-to-face front desk service. This was quite unconventional and sometimes made things less convenient when we needed assistance urgently. Room Equipment: One of the air conditioners in our room kept switching on and off by itself and wasn't functioning properly. Even more concerning, the hairdryer had a short circuit, produced a burning smell, and even sparked flames. This was a frightening experience, and although it was eventually replaced, waiting a full day for such a serious issue was very disappointing.

This hostel is absolutely fantastic! The location is superb – super close to the Stadthuys, Jonker Street, and St. Paul's Hill. You can get here directly from Malacca Central Station by taking the M100 bus; it's about a 10-minute walk from the Hatten Hotel bus stop. The ground floor is a common area with a washing machine, dryer, kitchen, and even a media room, plus lots of cats! I stayed on the third floor this time, and you do have to carry your own luggage up, so keep that in mind if you have big bags. It's great that the bathroom, toilet, and washbasins are all on the same floor. The only minor point is that each bed only has one power outlet, which might not be enough, but there are extra outlets in the room that you can use with an adapter, so that makes up for it.

This small, Chinese-run guesthouse's biggest draw is its excellent location. It's just a short walk to numerous restaurants, shops, and Malacca's Old Town. However, the facilities are quite dated. The air conditioning in my first room kept leaking, so I had to switch rooms. The AC in the second room also didn't cool well, but I just put up with it. I figured all their rooms probably had similar issues, so changing again wouldn't make much difference. Even the bath towels were torn and frayed. Given the low price, I couldn't really be too critical. After all, you get what you pay for, haha!

This is my second stay here. We booked a deluxe double room and got a ground-floor room right behind the front desk. The room wasn't huge, but it wasn't cramped either; there was still enough space to sit. There were plenty of outlets, the air conditioning worked well, and there was also a fan. The room was clean and smelled good, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. In the wardrobe, there were several hangers that seemed to have been left by previous guests. The bathroom provided soap and shampoo, and the water pressure was good. There was no drinking water in the room, but you could always get water from the dispenser behind the front desk. Tea and coffee were also available.

The room wasn't huge, but it was very comfortable and had everything we needed, except for a TV. The hotel is very close to Jonker Street, so we even had time to do some last-minute shopping before checking out. When we left in the taxi, we encountered a Malay-speaking driver, and the hotel staff (a young guy) was incredibly helpful, assisting us with communication and resolving the issue!
