Located in Varkala, Grand Residency & Resort is a great base to explore the city from.
You'll find a restaurant at the property with a variety of dining options available.
"The hotel is new and clean. There is no point in posting photos, because all the photos on tripcom are true. All the furniture is new and in excellent condition. Air conditioners, fans - everything works. There is also hot water, you need to wait a little until it drains. There is a refrigerator (new, odorless), an electric kettle, a TV (we did not turn it on, we do not know if it works or not). Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo are provided upon check-in. All this in small format. The service in the hotel is no worse than in Europe. They helped with any issue that arose. We have not seen such an attitude towards tourists for a long time. We have been traveling around Asia for 8 years, we have something to compare with. This hotel is the best of those we have been to. It is far from the beaches. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the nearest beach. But if you take a moped, there should be no problems. The hotel has a parking lot. And 24-hour security. We arrived at the hotel very early, check-in was done without extra charge for early check-in. Breakfast: vegetarian buffet. Our rating for the hotel and its staff is 10 out of 10!"

"We got allocated to rooms in ”reach hotel” instead of reach inn. They informed us that some electric short circuit was there and ac was not functioning. Location was easy to be found. Since we were using uber we dont know about parking facility. In front of reach hotel, there is no parking space so we have to hurry. There is help to carry your luggage to rooms. We booked two rooms, one of them were really good, both rooms were very clean and spacious; but one room had a weird smell of h2s. They told it started after cleaning ac when we informed them, not the way around, which was kind of off to us. After that we were given another room, it was very clean too. But toilet was emitting again the same smell of h2s as we had in other room but since room was fine though small, (but they informed about size of room prior, which was very kind of them to inform, staff was very supportive and responsive whenever we called, we should say that, no doubt. But since the toilet smell was not extending to room, we didnt mind as our time in hotel was very minimal. I would say this h2s smell cab be very dangerous if someone doesnt recognize it, for eg my mother could not recognize it, only me and my sister could recognize it. What if we all dont realize and smell it whole night? so please take care of it on emergency basis. Other than this, i would give very good marks to them as the rooms were very clean and staff were very supportive. Thank you"

I traveled with my sisters, total 4 members. My daughter booked family room in this hotel. Room was very spacious and comfortable. There was 24 hours hot water. AC was working perfectly. Very good location, only 5 mins away from the main cliff. Clean rooms, and bathroom was decently maintained. There are not a lot of amenities considering that it's a homestay, so bring those items with you. But basic soap and shampoo was available. A kettle was there ***** with tea bags, etc. Breakfast was fine, for the price we paid. The caretaker jishu was available throughout our stay for any help. Extra bed was not available, but an extra mattress was given upon request. Don't expect an exquisite customer service because there are no trained hotel staff here. Only one caretaker is available for the full property. The main usp has to the proximity to the beach.

5. It was a wonderful stay experience! the host, rito, took care of the entire experience and ensured that each moment of the stay was fun, endearing and filled with adventure! his recommendations were bang on! tapas, the restaurant manager was absolutely amazing, fast and quick to understand and apprehend the food cravings! even though i was staying alone, not one of my meals were lonely since the staff, especially tapas would make it a point to converse every-time and fill the dining experience with small gestures like getting my coffee right even before i said, to make me feel at home! the bonfires by rito and the zostellers, followed by the late night jamming sessions are something that i am going to sorely missing till my next trip! zostel munnar had been an incredible choice for the city!
