The first course was delicious and well-presented as a sunflower.  The following courses went downhill, including Turbot with a number of bones (first time I had Turbot with bones), and a beef dish that was not tender and not seasoned at all.  Service was pretty good, and location is great, except that evening it was hot and not much air flow in the restaurant.  I have to assume it was just an off-night for the Michelin-starred chef.

Villino

This is probably the only German restaurant on the main street of Insel Lindau. I wanted to order pork knuckle on the first day but was told it was sold out because I went too late. I ordered three kinds of white fish from Constance and the side dishes were replaced with potato salad. I couldn&#39;t taste the difference because the fish was fried on both sides. I went again the next day and made an advance reservation for the pork knuckle, but was a little disappointed. It may have been baked for too long and the skin was too hard to bite, but the tendons inside were very crispy. Finally, their new POS machine can only accept credit/debit cards issued in Germany.

Great food, service ans ambiance made us happywe would recommend it, although we think that the menu-priceis very  expensive, may be too expensive

Alles war perfekt ***** Die verschiedenen G&auml;nge des Men&uuml;s waren gekonnt aufeinander abgestimmt und &uuml;berraschten durch eine F&uuml;lle von feinen Aromen. Das Angebot an wei&szlig;en franz. Burgunder auf der Weinkarte war interessant und erlaubte eine sehr treffende Auswahl zum Men&uuml;.  Preislich waren die Weine absolut in Ordnung. Das Personal im Service war aufmerksam, diskret und &uuml;beraus freundlich. Wir kommen wieder!

All was perfect ***** The various gangs of the menu were able to match and surprised by a full of fine flavors. The offer of white franz. Burgunder on the wine map was interesting and allowed a very convenient selection of the menu. Pricefully the wines were absolutely OK. The staff in the service was attentive, discreet and very friendly. We will come back!

Es war ein wundersch&ouml;ner Abend. Das Men&uuml; war exzellent. Der Service war &uuml;beraus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir freuen uns auf ein Wiederkommen.

It was a beautiful evening. The menu was excellent. The service was very friendly and premature. We look forward to returning.
