󱔒Historic buildings
Perched on a cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea, Cabo de Rama Fort is one of Goa's oldest and most historic forts. The fort's name derives from the Indian epic Ramayana, and legend has it that the Hindu gods Rama, Sita, and Lakshman once resided here during their exile. Its fortified walls, casemates, and churches still stand, attracting numerous visitors. From the fort's heights, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea, which are particularly captivating at sunset. Furthermore, the fort's surroundings, Cabo de Rama Beach, offer an ideal spot for relaxation and beach activities. Cabo de Rama Fort is not only a historical site in Goa but also a valuable window into the culture and history of southern India. Whether you're a history buff, a photographer, or a tranquil traveler, this is a worthwhile destination.

bluecranebluecrane[Transportation] You can only take a taxi or charter a car. It feels like you are in a rural area deep in the mountains, and there is no signal on the road. You can charter a day and remove all the main attractions in Goa (old town, three or four beaches, farms, aquariums, big foot, etc.). The total cost is 3,000 rupees with an air-conditioned car, excluding tickets and meals. It is quite cost-effective. [Tickets] The attractions include Ancestral Goa and Casa Araujo Alvares. Adults: 100+100 rupees, including loudspeaker-played explanations. Children aged 3-10: 50+50 rupees. There is also a cross museum for 20 rupees. Self-driving parking is 50 rupees. [Business hours] 9:00-18:00 every day [Service] When you enter the door, you will use Hindu etiquette, hold a plate with fire, draw a vertical circle in front of you, and put a red dot on the center of your eyebrows. [Layout] Big Foot is recommended by the owner of the youth hostel. It is a museum that is very good for understanding Goa's culture, art, and environment. It is divided into two parts. One part is the former house of the local nobles. The displays inside are still the same. The living room, bedroom, dining room, dance hall, kitchen, etc. are all preserved. Chinese porcelain is also displayed. The most interesting thing is that there is a room full of various elephant trunk gods. Across the road is a garden, which has built scenes of local ancient rural life, as well as a small zoo and botanical garden. Of course, the most important thing is a big foot. It is a very interesting place. [Specialty] Hazelnut products, shell products, not expensive. [Legend] There was once a rich man named Mahadar, who was very friendly and generous and often helped the poor and those in need. A greedy man named Puram pretended to be unlucky and asked Mahadar for more money than Mahadar could give, but the kind-hearted Mahadar did not refuse him. Mahadar kept giving him alms until one day he was penniless and had to sell his house to continue helping others. Mahadar and his wife were homeless and had to live on the street, so that his wife became seriously ill, and the evil people he had helped did not refuse to help him, and his wife died tragically. Mahada still adheres to his faith and helps others with his meager efforts. One day, God appeared in his dream and asked him if he wanted his property back. Mahada asked God to bless those who had hurt him. After God agreed, Mahada only asked for a small place to stand and pray for mankind. In order to test him, God pointed to a hot rock, but he stood there on one leg for many years. God was very satisfied with his dedication and fulfilled his wish, leaving his footprints, scattering flowers to bless him, and then God took him to heaven. In order to reward Mahada's piety, future generations can be blessed as long as they pray sincerely on his footprints.
