Musée de la Poste

The French Postal Museum (Musée de La Poste) is a museum operated by the French Postal Service. It mainly collects exhibits related to the history of the French Postal Service and philately. The museum opened in 1946. The French Postal Museum consists of two exhibition areas, located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris and the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The museum often hosts special exhibitions.

The Postal Museum is a place where postal heritage is displayed, protected and disseminated. It introduces the writing, history and culture of the French postal service. The collections of the Postal Museum tell the story, not only of a company, but also of the transformation of French people's lives. The museum preserves and exhibits historical, artistic, philatelic and scientific heritage on more than 1000 square meters of grounds, and its collections are diverse and include the earliest post office route maps, postmen's uniforms, artists' models, stamps, popular objects and, finally, a large number of of mail art and postal art collections.
