A Stroll Through Milan: Where Art and Fashion Shine
Milan exudes a sophisticated atmosphere, even among European cities.
This city, where art, architecture, and style blend seamlessly, makes your heart dance just by walking through it✨
Under the blue sky, retro trams glide by, and the aroma of freshly baked focaccia fills the air in Milan.
This time, we’ll introduce the charm of Milan along with real photos🌸
⸻
🚉 Milano Centrale Station
The journey begins at the magnificent Milano Centrale Station.
Completed in 1931, the station resembles a marble palace! The ceiling decorations are stunning, showcasing Italian artistry.
Thinking about the adventures that start from here makes your heart race💼✨
⸻
🚋 Milan’s Iconic Retro Trams
The yellow trams running through the city have been a symbol of Milan since the 1920s.
The "clatter, clatter" sound as they pass through the streets feels like a scene from a storybook📖
They’re convenient for sightseeing, and if you want to experience the local vibe, be sure to hop on!
⸻
🏛️ Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Located right next to the Duomo Square, this is one of the most beautiful shopping arcades in the world✨
Completed in 1877, this gallery is also known as "Milan’s living room."
Light streaming through the glass ceiling illuminates the golden walls, and the space, lined with shops like Louis Vuitton and Prada, feels like a dream🌟
On the floor, there’s a mosaic of a bull, a symbol of good luck, and spinning on it with your heel is said to bring fortune💫
⸻
🍴 All’Antico Vinaio
If you’re feeling a bit hungry, head to the popular Florence-originated shop "All’Antico Vinaio"!
Their freshly baked focaccia sandwiches, filled with plenty of prosciutto and cheese, are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside💕
They’re hearty and perfect for eating on the go!😋
⸻
🎨 The Last Supper (Il Cenacolo)
When it comes to Milan’s iconic art, it’s Leonardo da Vinci’s **"The Last Supper."**
This mural, painted in the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, showcases delicate expressions of light and shadow.
In a serene, reservation-only space, you can feel the breath of art from over 500 years ago✨
⸻
🏰 Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco)
Built in the 15th century by the ruling Sforza family of the Duchy of Milan🏰
Now open as a museum, it houses Michelangelo’s unfinished work "Rondanini Pietà."
The contrast between the fountain and the red bricks makes it a picturesque spot📸✨
⸻
🌉 Arco della Pace (Arch of Peace)
Built during Napoleon’s era, the Arch of Peace is a beautiful triumphal arch symbolizing victory and peace.
At the top, there’s a statue of a goddess riding a chariot, and on sunny days, the contrast with the blue sky is stunning💙
Nearby, you can see people enjoying picnics in Sempione Park🍃
⸻
⛪ Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano)
And finally, Milan’s symbol, the **Duomo (Cathedral).**
Construction began in 1386 and took about 500 years to complete, making it one of the largest Gothic structures in the world.
The white marble exterior shines with intricate carvings, and from the rooftop, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Milan✨
The sunrise and sunset hours are especially romantic💕
⸻
💕Summary
Milan is a city where art, fashion, and the warmth of its people blend together.
As you sway on a retro tram and walk through historic buildings,
you’ll surely fall under the spell of this magical city🌈✨
Ctrip's e-tickets are very convenient. We booked for 2:15 PM and arrived 10 minutes late, so we needed to go to the office to get a new entry time. It's easier this time since it's the off-season, but it might be harder during peak season. Please try to be punctual. No flash photography or videography is allowed during the 15-minute visit; management is very strict. The museum has free restrooms, and you can also browse the bookstore. The Church of Our Lady of Grace next door is free to enter.
This was the only website where I could get the Lats Supper tickets couple of days before the visit. Confirmation took about a day and we got our tickets. You should do everything as it is written on the ticket. I am glad that I was able to see this masterpiece in real life. 😊
I'd never been able to get tickets on the official website, but this time, thanks to Ctrip, I finally got a glimpse of the dinner. We were allowed into the dining hall in batches, limited to 15 minutes. The murals we saw had been restored several times. The mural directly across from the dinner was also quite nice.
It costs 15 euros to buy a ticket yourself, but you can't get one. There are only a few shows a day, and only 15-20 people can enter each show. It's reasonable to charge a service fee. It's very convenient, saving you from waiting for tickets. Each show is 15 minutes, and the photos are taken randomly. There is only one room. Bring your passport. There are only 2 paintings in the room. The paintings are directly on the wall.
Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper" is the pinnacle of the Renaissance. The composition is exquisite, and the postures and expressions of the twelve disciples and Jesus are different. Judas' panic and Peter's excitement are portrayed vividly. The use of perspective gives the picture a strong sense of depth, as if you can walk into that sacred and tense moment. It is not only an artistic treasure, but also condenses the complex tension between religion and human nature. Every time you watch it, you will have new insights.
It's worth going! The murals are amazing! It's really convenient to buy tickets on Ctrip! ! ! I recommend buying tickets here if you can't get them! This Last Supper is really very, very well painted! Fortunately, you can take pictures! !
The Last Supper in France is expensive, but worth a visit
