The famous Jinshui Bridge connects Tiananmen Square and Tiananmen Tower. Many people walk across the bridge every day. There are special soldiers stationed on both sides. Their straight military posture gives people a sense of solemnity. Unfortunately, the tower is under maintenance and you cannot climb up to it. After walking across the Jinshui Bridge, you will reach the famous Wumen Gate, the entrance to the Forbidden City.
The Outer Golden Water Bridge is in front of the Tiananmen Tower, and the Inner Golden Water Bridge is behind the Meridian Gate.
Jinshui Bridge is divided into internal and external Jinshui Bridge, built in Yongle Ming Dynasty. The Inner Jinshui Bridge is located on the Jinshui River in the front square of Taihe Gate in the Palace Museum. It consists of five parallel single-arch coupon-type Han Baiyu Bridges. The three-arch coupon-type Han Baiyu Bridge across the Jinshui River outside Tiananmen is the Outer Jinshui Bridge, which was rebuilt in the 29th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1690).
I still remember when I was very young, I went to Tiananmen Square and took photos by the Jinshui Bridge, the symbol of Beijing!
