Just returned from Dandong. I really don’t recommend suffering through July to September
“Before the trip, I saw many posts advising against it, all saying that midsummer in Dandong is scorching and humid during the day, with the Broken Bridge and Hushan Great Wall crowded with tour groups, riverside boat rides overpriced, and the usual itinerary just a rushed visit to border landmarks, making it hard to feel the true character of this border city🌊.”@RestlessWanderlust · 3 months ago

Stayed in a river view suite by the Yalu River, absolutely stunning
“Dandong is a city where you only understand the meaning of "two worlds separated by one river" once you arrive.”@Nora_Roberts12 · 4 months ago
Live report from Dandong on February 6th—it's truly overwhelming.
“Heading to Dandong with hopes of enjoying the "border scenery," only to have the February "Yalu River cold wind" blow right through to your soul, and even getting hit in the face by ice particles blown off the river on the Broken Bridge 🤣
A sincere advice to those who haven't come yet: if you're not a frost-resistant patriotic youth, don't join the fun in January-February, unless you want to experience the "river cold air attack + binoculars shaking hands from the cold while watching North Korea" package!”@_1996_Matt_25 · 8 months ago
