Nanshan Ski Resort – I've been skiing here for 20 years now. It used to be the best ski resort in Beijing, and it's probably still the best, except maybe the National Ski Resort. Parking is free now. I used to ski alone, but now I need to bring my kids. It's really crowded, so I recommend going on weekdays. Otherwise, it's impossible to ski on weekends. Children under 12 are not allowed on the chairlifts. The beginner slope on the east side is short, so it's a good spot for kids.

My first time skiing was at Jundushan Ski Resort. Overall, it was great value for money and thrilling. The only downside was that the slopes weren't long enough, so I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I wanted.

As the closest high-standard ski resort to downtown Beijing, Xishan Ski Resort deserves to be called "the ski resort at the doorstep". Even on weekdays, many skiers are galloping down the ski slopes, showing off their skills. The snowmaking area of the ski resort is 130,000 square meters, with a maximum drop of 121.5 meters. There are 7 ski slopes in total, including: 2 beginner ski slopes, 2 beginner slopes, 2 intermediate slopes, and 1 advanced slope, with a total length of 2,089 meters (including the intermediate slope B2, which is nearly 1,000 meters long). Multiple ski slopes can provide a full range of skiing experiences for skiers of different levels. In addition to convenient transportation, Xishan Ski Resort has several other features that are particularly suitable for beginners: First, it is close to the city and the temperature is slightly higher, so the snow is fluffy and not very "icy". Second, the slope of the ski resort is gentle, completely flat, without a slope, and easy to practice. In addition, half of the coaches and assistants at the ski resort are college students majoring in ice and snow sports. They have relatively high professional skills and cultural literacy, are responsible and good at communicating with students. Whether you are a novice or a skier with advanced needs, you can get personalized skiing guidance services at the "skiing school" of Xishan Ski Resort - V·SKI Mountain College. V·SKI Mountain College has more than 100 instructors, all of whom hold the Chinese Skiing Instructor Professional Qualification Certificate. They are composed of retired provincial and national skiing athletes, social skiing instructor trainers, assessors, and referees.

I went to Shijinglong Ski Resort three times this season. The beginner's trails are spacious and smooth, and there is a restaurant where you can eat. But the shoes are not so suitable because so many people use them. The shuttle bus to the ski resort is very convenient. There are west and east lines to take. The boarding points are along the subway line. It's a bit early, so I slept on the bus, which makes it much more convenient to go skiing in the suburbs.

Yanqing Alpine Skiing offers the best experience compared to Jundou and Nanshan. However, it is noticeably more expensive, coaching fees are high, and a large deposit is required unless you bring your own equipment.

The ski resort has one beginner trail, one intermediate trail, and an advanced trail, but I don't have the ability to experience it. Overall, the cost performance is relatively high, but because it is the peak season, there are quite a lot of people. I skied the intermediate trail six or seven times in half a day. The ski trail is not too congested, but the elevator to the ski trail is quite congested, and it is not easy to get on with skis.

Waibek Ski Resort is pretty good this year. The outdoor dining area, converted into a glass enclosure, isn't open yet, but it looks nice. The high-speed chairlifts are still great. If I had to suggest improvements, here are a few: 1. The parking lot surface could be tidied up a bit. Otherwise, your skis and boots get covered in dirt. 2. The shuttle buses could be more frequent. We arrived around 9 am today, and since there weren't many people, the shuttle buses didn't seem to be moving. Two buses were parked there, and since no one seemed inclined to start them, everyone just carried their skis to the main hall (it really is quite a distance). Today, there weren't many people, and the chairlifts barely had queues, which was great. Oh, by the way, is the temperature not low enough? Why aren't the two advanced runs snow-making operations open yet?
