"The hotel is located in the Planetarium area, with an airport bus stop directly diagonally opposite. It's also just over a 10-minute walk to South Pier. Our twin room was a decent size, with enough space to open two 28-inch suitcases. The room offered a good view, but unfortunately, the windows don't open. In the bathroom, the water pressure was strong and the drain worked well, but the water temperature was a bit hard to adjust, fluctuating between hot and cold. There's a lip into the bathroom that felt a bit wobbly, so care is needed when stepping on it. The bathtub's material and design weren't ideal, which older guests should particularly note. The surrounding area offers plenty of shopping and dining options. Sukiya is right next door, and there's a well-established unagi (eel rice) restaurant nearby that serves delicious food. The hotel's cleanliness was alright, but I did find some hair. It seems the standards aren't quite comparable to what they were years ago when local staff were responsible for room upkeep, a difference perhaps influenced by the increasing presence of foreign workers in many cities. The front desk is on the second floor, and most services are semi-self-service, with self-service luggage lockers available."

"pretty good place to stay as it's pretty close to the tram and it's located in the centre of town. there was only one elevator for this specific branch so it could get a bit annoying. there's also no coin laundry service but there's one located just right beside but it's pretty costly."

Located in the centre of Kagoshima, a 1-minute walk from Takamibaba Station on the Kagoshima City Tram and a 6-minute walk from the Temmonkan bus stop on the Kagoshima Airport Limousine Bus. It is also conveniently located within walking distance of the popular downtown area of Temmonkan. The hotel has a restaurant on the top floor with a view of Sakurajima, a bar with an adult atmosphere, a large bath with an artificial carbonated spring and a fitness room. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The entire building is non-smoking, and if smoking is required, there is a smoking area on the second floor. The hotel also offers a variety of room types to suit all purposes, from functional double rooms to junior suites for special occasions. A welcome drink for guests is available at the reception on the second floor (coffee machine, water server, four types of black tea, green tea and hojicha) and there is a convenience store nearby for a comfortable hotel experience.

"This hotel's location is super convenient, right in the heart of the Tenmonkan area, with the tram stop directly in front. It's walking distance to the bustling downtown and plenty of restaurants, so exploring and dining out was a breeze. The hotel and rooms felt new and clean, making for a very comfortable stay. The artificial carbonated hot spring in the public bath was fantastic for soothing away travel fatigue. I especially enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor, with amazing views of Sakurajima while savoring dishes made with local ingredients. The staff were also very attentive and polite. Overall, I'd say this is a highly satisfying hotel."

"Highly recommended hotel! The front desk staff are all super enthusiastic, and I even met a lovely Chinese girl working there. The breakfast is really rich and delicious, and the late-night ramen (Yeming Noodle) was also very tasty – the lady serving it was really busy! The hot spring on the 14th floor, though not large, is very clean. I stayed in a single room, and there's an extra door between the room and the main corridor, which made it very quiet. The airport bus stop is very close to the hotel, just two traffic lights away. Kagoshima is a beautiful place, and everyone I met was so kind and helpful. It’s also been a sister city with Changsha for over 30 years."

"This hotel was great because I could walk to it from Kagoshima-Chuo Station through a covered arcade, so I didn't get wet on a rainy day. The room was spacious, and I could comfortably leave my suitcase open without feeling cramped. It was also very helpful that they kindly stored my luggage both before check-in and after check-out. The 11 AM check-out time was a nice bonus. The only downside was that the mini-fridge was tucked completely under the room's table, making it awkward to sit down comfortably as my legs kept bumping into it. The chair was also a foldable type, so while I wanted to do some computer work, it wasn't feasible for long periods. This might not be the best choice for business travelers."

Good points: - Right in front of the Ohara-machi bus stop. - A-Coop (supermarket up to 1900) is within walking distance, making shopping convenient. There's a shared microwave in the inn, so you can buy food at the supermarket and eat it there. There's also a refrigerator in the room. - There's a large public bath and a sauna. - Shiratani Unsuikyo is a 30-minute bus ride away. - The hotel staff are friendly. Not-so-good points: - The noise from the plumbing in a nearby room was surprisingly loud, making it difficult to sleep. - The rental equipment is not well maintained. The equipment itself is old. While it seems to be an established inn and shows its age in many ways, I think the location is excellent. It might be good to leverage its age and perhaps even specialize in mountain-related features. However, the facilities need to be maintained.

I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The atmosphere during my visit was very peaceful, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return. I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return. The onsen was a real highlight, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing, and the view from my room was absolutely spectacular. Although it was whale season while I was there, I did not manage to see any whales this time, but that simply gives me another reason to come back. If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience. Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.

The scenery was amazing, and we were even able to go down to the beach. The sand was sparkling and soft, and we could even dip our feet in the sea and play. The view from the open-air bath was also fantastic, the gentle breeze felt wonderful, and we were able to see the first star of the night.

My stay at this hotel was excellent! 👍 **Location:** The hotel is conveniently located right above Kagoshima-Chuo Station. You can enter directly from the station, and there's a shopping mall downstairs with a wide variety of brands and dining options, which is incredibly convenient. **Facilities:** The hotel is fully equipped with everything you need, including a refrigerator, air purifier, ice maker, and laundry room. There are also free self-service lockers in the lobby, which are very handy. **Service:** The staff are very professional and friendly, always patiently helping you with any issues. **Cleanliness:** Every area, including the guest rooms, lobby, and laundry room, was incredibly clean. The laundry room experience was particularly good. **Overall:** I highly recommend this hotel; it offers great value for money.

Everyone is very friendly and it's nice at home. The rice is very good and the beach is nearby, so it is perfect for spending a luxurious time. This room is a wooden house with high ceilings and a touch of woody fragrance. The ceiling fan invites you to travel. Taking a step to the balcony, the stars look very beautiful, and the sounds of various creatures come and go. I feel that I have found something forgotten in my city life. I want to live longer. Thank you very much for picking up from the airport. If you come to Ammei, please be sure to stay, I will recommend it.

Even though this is an old hotel and it shows in its facilities and overall design, the service and amenities you get as a solo traveller is worth thw price you pay for an overnight stay. The room is clean albeit small but sufficient. Some points to take note if you're planning to book: This is close to the central station so it's juat a block away from major shopping and transport options. The hotel closes its front desk and doors at 11 pm to 7 am. Checkin before 11 pm. Going in and out of the hotel at that time is possible if you use your key card to open the front doors. Walls are thin and it's very possible that you would hear your neighbor. There's free coffee and drinks at the lobby.
