Fort Frederick
Located in the heart of Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, the fort sits on the cliffs of Swami Rock, offering spectacular views of the surrounding area, especially at sunset. It was originally built by the Portuguese in the 17th century and named "Fort Triquillimale". In 1624, the Dutch seized and expanded the fort. In my opinion, the temple is very beautiful for its sacredness; it's one of five places in Sri Lanka that protects against disasters. And it has a spectacular view of the ocean. It's said to be one of the best places in the world to watch whales from land.

The beach is known as the Little Maldives of Sri Lanka. The transportation is also very convenient, attracting tourists from all over the world. The scenery is particularly good, and there are many locals here to play in the water. It is a very beautiful beach.

Fantastic visit and the highlight of our 1 day tour from Colombo. There is a water station halfway if you need to refill your bottle and on less busy days there is some limited shade at the top. Breathtaking views from the top.
