The Living Museum of Gingerbread

The Living Museum of Gingerbread is located in Torun, Poland, and since opening in 2006 has become a unique place showcasing Torun's gingerbread tradition. The museum is housed in an early 19th-century granary and recreates the medieval gingerbread production process. Under professional guidance, visitors knead gingerbread dough by hand, shape it using traditional molds, and take part in grinding flour with a stone mill. The entire experience is led by a gingerbread witch and artisans, making it both entertaining and educational. The museum also displays gingerbread production tools and finished products from the 19th–20th centuries, with about 100 exhibits, reflecting the important role of gingerbread in Torun's history. Each year, the museum attracts more than 100,000 visitors and has become a popular destination for families and travelers to learn about Poland's traditional culture.

Nicolaus Copernicus Monument in Toruń

The Nicolaus Copernicus Monument in Toruń, located in the southeast corner of the Old Town Square, was cast in the studio of the famous Berlin sculptor Fryderyk Tieck. The bronze monument depicts an astronomer in a professor's robe holding an astronomical instrument called an armillary sphere in his left hand, creating a magnificent scene.
