Things to do in Shanini

Absolutely a must see village, very short drive from Tataouine. Unfortunately is very run down and not many tourists are visiting but it is a jewel in the South.

We visited the El Jem Colosseum in Tunisia, which was even more spectacular than the one in Italy. For centuries, the El Jem Colosseum has conquered all visitors with its grandeur, magnificence, scientific layout, and perfect harmony of structure, just like the pyramids in Egypt.

Gilit Salt Lake is the largest desert salt lake in the world. Although it is called a lake, due to the huge evaporation, the actual water content of Gilit Salt Lake is very low and the salt content is very high. It is even known as the lake with the highest salt content in the world. The salt content is even comparable to that of the Dead Sea. If you are lucky, you can see mirages in the desert when the weather is clear and the sun is strong.

In the Gobi Desert on the outskirts of Metmathai, there is a man-made magical place with many earthen houses and some strange buildings, just like being on an alien world. This is the location of Star Wars, and many scenes can be found in the movie. For a Star Wars fan like me, it is really exciting to come here. Every time I visit a place, I want to recall the scenes in the movie. It really feels like being on an alien planet. It is especially worth recommending.
