The Basilica of St. Vitus is the landmark of the old town. It is the oldest, largest and most luxurious church here. Built in the early fourteenth century, it is the center of faith for the local people and the source of the city's development. This extremely important Gothic church in the Czech Republic, which combines some Baroque style, stands majestically on the banks of the Vltava River. The church's spire rises into the clouds. Inside the church are 15th-century murals, the tomb of Rosenborg (William and his wife), a huge Baroque organ built in 1716 on the second floor, as well as stone columns, temples and exquisite domes that are all worth seeing. The main area of St. Vitus Church spans the entire Český Krumlov airspace, and the castle symbolizes the immortal ruling power and powerful influence in its domain.
