The Kurashiki Bikan area is located on the banks of the Kurashiki River and covers an area of about 13.5 hectares. It is one of the only ancient towns in Japan. Similar to the domestic Wuzhen and Xitang, but the architectural style is inconsistent. There are many mansions of businessmen at that time and modern buildings such as the Ohara Art Museum and many museums that were built later.Kurashiki · 15km from Okayama City

The park was rebuilt from the original Okayama Castle ruins. The newly restored Okayama Castle is the center of the park, and Korakuen, one of the three famous gardens, is next to it. In the park, part of the Tsukimi turret and stone wall can be seen. Wucheng Park has different scenery throughout the year. In spring, you can enjoy flowers, especially when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom;Okayama City · 1.8km from downtown

In 1582, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Kuroda Kanbei became famous all over the world, where the "Water Attack on Takamatsu" took place. Today, Bichu Takamatsu Castle is no longer there, leaving behind a Takamatsu Castle Ruins Park, which houses the museum and the first tomb of Mongji Shimizu. A good place for die-hard loyalists in the history of the Warring States Period.Okayama City · 9.8km from downtown

Okayama is the hometown of Momotaro, and the Momotaro statue in front of JR Okayama Station is one of the most representative statues. This was donated by the Okayama Nishiguchi Rotary Club in May 1946, and it is also a popular photo spot for tourists visiting Okayama. At the feet of the statue are the legendary monkeys and dogs, and a pheasant stands on Momotaro's shoulders. Momotaro raised his left hand to his eyebrows and looked towards Onishima (Megi Island, Kagawa Prefecture).Okayama City · 1.1km from downtown

Fushimi Inari Taisha

Fushimi Inari Taisha

7.1
4.7/5
2.3k reviews
Fushimi Inari Taisha is located at the western foot of Mount Inari in southern Kyoto and serves as the head shrine of all Inari shrines across Japan. According to legend, in 711 AD, the deity Inari, who governs bountiful harvests and prosperous commerce, was enshrined here, and the shrine has thrived with worshippers for centuries. Its signature view is the vermilion "Senbon Torii," a seemingly endless tunnel of torii gates stretching up the mountain behind the main hall. This iconic scene is not only one of Kyoto's most representative images but also widely recognized due to the famous scene in the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha," where a young girl runs through the torii gate tunnel. A short walk east from JR Inari Station brings you to the entrance. Passing through the towering vermilion torii gate and proceeding along the main approach, you'll encounter the romon gate, said to have been donated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1589 to pray for his mother's recovery. Beyond it lie the main hall and other principal structures. Stone fox statues are ubiquitous throughout the shrine, as foxes are considered messengers of the rice god Inari, often depicted holding keys or rice ears in their mouths. Before worshiping, visitors can purify their hands at the temizuya beside the main hall following the illustrated instructions, then clap their hands to pray at the main hall - prayers here often relate to business prosperity and financial fortune. Drawing omikuji fortunes and writing ema votive tablets are common practices; fox-faced ema can be personally decorated with expressions, while miniature torii-shaped ema are equally charming. Fox-shaped omamori amulets make popular souvenirs. Go around to the back of the main hall to find the entrance to the Senbon Torii. Hundreds upon hundreds of torii gates line the path all the way to the summit of Mt. Inari, with weathered, faded gates densely interwoven with bright vermilion ones. When sunlight filters through the gaps, the scene is particularly spectacular, making it a popular spot for photography enthusiasts. Each torii gate was donated by an individual or company, with the donor's name and date inscribed on the back. The path up the mountain is not a straight line; it includes both wide passages that seem to stretch on forever and smaller, parallel paths. Rest areas and sacred sites are scattered along the way, and most travelers come specifically for this mountain trail. After walking for about half an hour, the torii gates gradually become sparse. Upon reaching the Yotsutsuji intersection halfway up the mountain, you can overlook the Kyoto cityscape. Many people also make a special trip up the mountain at night to see the night view. Many travelers turn back here, but if you persist to the summit, the mountain path forms a loop. Several small shrines are distributed around the summit area, and a round-trip generally takes two to three hours, which is also equivalent to experiencing a traditional "Oyama Meguri" (mountain pilgrimage).Japan · Kyoto

I visited Kurashiki last Sunday and absolutely loved it! The town perfectly blends Edo-period charm with modern cafes. The atmosphere is lively yet incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend using this pass! It is incredibly worth it. You can redeem it for activities like the traditional canal boat ride, museum entries, or local snacks. It saves a lot of money and is super convenient.

Every castle in Japan has a nickname. Okayama Castle's nickname is Karajo, so the so-called Karajo Park actually means Okayama Castle Park. It is a park composed of the Okayama Castle tower and the moat in front. The entire park is not large, but the location is still very good. If you come from Korakuen, you can cross an iron bridge and a wider river to reach it. After buying a combined ticket, there is no obstruction. It is called a park, but it is more of the scope of Honmaru. You can row a boat on the river, which is a very nice scenery.

It can only be said that the castle ruins are gone. Not a single stone can be seen. The only things that can be photographed are the lotus that Muneharu Shimizu planted in the Honmaru, his grave, and a poster about the flooding of Takamatsu Castle. However, there is a supermarket on the roadside across the railway from the train station. For a supermarket in such a small place, there are only old men and women. It still has everything, selling seasonal chrysanthemum bouquets, and also buying a lot of Japanese plant and vegetable seeds. Now is the season for planting radish and cabbage seeds.

In fact, in addition to the well-known Momotaro legend, there is another historical theory that the Momotaro story evolved from the story of the ancient Okayama royal family "Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto" conquering the Ura who occupied Kibi Province. Therefore, now in many places in the Okayama area, you can see things with "Momotaro" as the theme, and there are also many Momotaro legend-related attractions!

I go back and forth once a month, but that's my favorite scenery, so if I have time, stop the car and take a walk. The ancient scenery is protected due to construction restrictions, and the five-story pagoda that blends in with the rural scenery is irresistible. All four seasons are good, but the highlight in early spring is the rape flowers. You can fully relax in the scenery surrounded by flowers and the spring breeze that radiates light. When it's a little more, it's a single-sided brick.

Hidden within this room lies the charm of nature. Pushing open the door, verdant greenery greets you first. Leaning against the window, the murmuring of a spring fills the air, while mist and haze drift into the room along the window sill. Each season presents its own unique beauty here: spring brings forth new bamboo shoots, summer offers lush shade, autumn fills the courtyard with the fragrance of osmanthus, and winter sees snow tapping against the window. Every detail in the room reflects thoughtful consideration: the mattress's firmness perfectly supports a tired back, the toiletries have a pleasant, non-irritating scent, and a warm, yellow light awaits you at the door when you return late at night. This is not just a temporary resting place, but a sanctuary for the soul. After a few days, even the most tense nerves gradually relax, allowing you to rediscover your most relaxed state.

Довольно неплохая смотровая площадка с интересной архитектурой. Будьте готовы к очередям в предзакатное/ закатное время и к тому, что выход из здания занимает даже больше времени, чем вход в эти часы. В целом довольны посещением.
