Gold Coast beach stretches for approx. 70 km, and its golden sand is a hallmark of this coastline, which is how it got the name Gold Coast. The sand is fine and glows with a warm golden luster in the sunlight, while the water transitions from a shallow turquoise near the shore to a deep blue in the distance, creating distinct layers. The beach features several distinct sections along its length, with a lively atmosphere in the north and a relatively quieter vibe in the south, catering to visitors with different preferences. Surfing is a signature, long-standing experience at this beach. The coastline boasts several famous surf breaks, including the Superbank near Snapper Rocks, which is known for producing long, hollow waves that attract a large number of surfers year-round. Surf lifesavers patrol the beach, and red and yellow flags mark safe swimming areas. A coastal walkway connects the various beach sections, making it a great way to explore by walking or cycling. The beach enjoys abundant sunshine and a mild climate year-round, with different sections catering to various needs.Surfers Paradise · 35.3km from Murwillumbah

Springbrook National Park

Springbrook National Park is located in the mountain rainforests of the Gold Coast hinterland. The plateau, shaped by ancient volcanic activity, has been deeply carved by streams into layers of cliffs and canyons, creating a lush, green landscape. Most waterfalls and lookouts are accessible via short trails. The park consists of several areas, with the Springbrook Plateau and Natural Bridge being the most popular. Visitors can enjoy waterfalls and cliffs during the day, and see the starlike glowworms in the caves at night—each offering its own unique experience. Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park, is the signature attraction here: years of erosion by stream water have hollowed out the mountain, and now the stream pours through a circular hole in the cave ceiling, weaving a curtain of water inside. A natural stone bridge remains where the cave roof collapsed. You can see the waterfall passing through the cave by following the approximately 1 km loop trail. After dark, the cave ceiling lights up with patches of blue-green glow—these are the bioluminescent larvae commonly known as glowworms. They are actually the larvae of a type of fungus gnat, and their cold tail light is used to lure prey. When gathered in large numbers, they look like a starry sky hanging overhead. They glow every night throughout the year, though their light is dimmer during the dry winter and spring seasons and exceptionally bright during the hot, humid, and rainy seasons. On humid summer nights, you might occasionally spot glowing mushrooms along the trail, and sometimes even fireflies. Please turn off flashlights and camera flashes when viewing, as direct bright light will cause the colony to "turn off" instantly. Please stay on the trail, and do not enter the water in the cave area. After walking out of the cave, don't forget to look up; the stars in the mountain night sky are equally moving. The plateau area is home to most of the lookouts and waterfalls: the Canyon Lookout is just a few steps from the road, offering a view of Twin Falls and Rainbow Falls as they tumble over the cliff edge into the deep valley. The ambitiously named Best of All Lookout requires a walk through a forest of ancient Antarctic beech trees that are thousands of years old; on a clear day, you can see Mount Warning in New South Wales in the distance. Purling Brook Falls, with a drop of nearly 100 m, is the park's iconic waterfall. The loop trail allows you to descend to the valley floor, where you can stand on a suspension bridge and look up at the entire water curtain, which is especially spectacular when the water volume is high after rain. The Twin Falls circuit allows you to walk directly behind the waterfall.Springbrook · 19.7km from Murwillumbah

Gold Coast Sea World

Gold Coast Sea World is a long-established marine theme park in Australia, located along the coastal area in the northern part of the Gold Coast. It combines marine animal exhibits, animal shows, and amusement rides into one park, offering both wildlife viewing and thrilling attractions. Animal encounters are the main highlight here: the penguin exhibit houses king penguins and gentoo penguins, where visitors can watch them waddle or dive into the water through viewing glass set against an icy landscape. The polar bear shores recreate the rocky coasts and pools of the Arctic summer, providing a rare chance to see polar bears in Australia. Shark Bay teems with sharks and rays, while the nearby ray reef allows hands-on interaction with rays. At seal harbor, Australian sea lions and fur seals bask on the shore or playfully chase each other in the water. The park hosts multiple daily dolphin shows and sea lion educational presentations—it's recommended to check the day's time slots upon arrival to plan your itinerary, and arrive early to secure seats for popular shows. Families with children shouldn't miss Nickelodeon Land, where animated characters like SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Dora, and PAW Patrol's Chase and Marshall meet travelers for photos. Thrill-seekers can tackle the wooden coaster Leviathan, the motorbike-style Jet Rescue coaster, and the splash-filled Storm Coaster. △ Meet your favorite animation characters △ Get close to marine life △ Experience thrilling amusement itemsMain Beach · 41.2km from Murwillumbah

We went straight to the zoo after getting off the plane. We arrived quite late, but we were lucky enough to see most of the animals, including wombats, Tasmanian devils, and smiling rats. A great zoo, highly recommended. The coffee at the entrance was delicious, and feeding the parrots was also very interesting. Feeding starts at 4 PM, and even when we left at 5 PM, there were still parrots to feed.

Our short family trip to Mt. Buller in Melbourne, Australia was an absolute blast! From start to finish, it was filled with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The journey to Mt. Buller itself was breathtaking. The drive through the Victorian countryside was a fantastic prelude to the mountain adventure that awaited us. As we arrived at Mt. Buller, we were greeted by a winter wonderland of snow-covered peaks. It was our first time experiencing snow, and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction. Mt. Buller is a fantastic destination for beginners and experienced skiers/snowboarders alike. We took lessons and had a blast learning to glide down the slopes. The instructors were patient and helpful, making it a fun learning experience for everyone. Even if you're not into skiing or snowboarding, there are plenty of opportunities for snow play. We had snowball fights, built snowmen, and went tobogganing. It was pure joy to watch the kids and adults alike relishing in the snow.

This is a must-visit in the Gold Coast area of Brisbane. My favorite attractions are: Twin Falls, Rainbow Falls, Qinquan Falls, Natural Bridge. These places are very beautiful during the day, but they are a million times more beautiful at night. There are many fireflies on the forest road and in the cave... Just think, in New Zealand, you have to spend 50 New Zealand dollars to see the fireflies in the cave, but here it is free!!! An absolutely amazing place!!!

It was so much fun, much better than Tokyo DisneySea! The lines for the rides were shorter, and there were shows and interactions with manta rays. It's a shame we arrived a bit late in the morning and missed out on so many rides. The only downside was that the daily operating hours were too short. It's perfect for the whole family (the worst part is that adults aren't allowed to ride the carousel because they're tall; they can only ride in small cars, ugh).

No tickets are needed; simply scan the QR code to enter the park, which is significantly cheaper than buying tickets on the official website. Most rides have no queues, making for an extremely enjoyable experience. Even the most popular roller coasters only have queues of about 20 minutes. Transportation is convenient; take the Surfers Paradise light rail to the northernmost station and then transfer to a bus; the entire journey takes only one hour.
