There are multiple routes to the summit of Mount Taishan. The hiking trail at the Hongmen entrance is the traditional route opened during Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Fengshan ceremony, consisting mainly of stone steps. Walking from Hongmen to Zhongtianmen, you will pass by numerous attractions along the way, including Wanxian Tower, Doumu Palace, Huima Ridge, and Hutiange. This area is also where stone inscriptions are concentrated. After reaching Zhongtianmen, you can take a cable car or walk to Nantianmen and the summit area, where you can see attractions such as Eighteen Bends, Shengxian Archway, Duisong Mountain, Chaoyang Cave, and Wudafu Pines. The Tianwaicun route is a road leading from Tianwaicun to Zhongtianmen, accessible by tour bus, passing by Heilong Pool, Fanzhi Cliff, and Feng Yuxiang's Tomb. After reaching Zhongtianmen, it merges with the latter half of the Hongmen route. Travelers who prefer not to hike can choose this route. The Tianzhufeng route is relatively steep with few visitors, and is a hiking route often taken by outdoor enthusiasts. It features beautiful mountain scenery, including attractions such as Liyu Back, and at the starting point there is also the large-scale live performance "Chinese Mount Taishan: Grand Ceremony of Fengshan." The Taohuayu route is mostly chosen by travelers when descending the mountain. From Tianjie at the summit, take the ropeway to the mountainside, then transfer to a tour bus down to Taohuayu at the foot of the mountain. Along the way, you can enjoy the Colorful Stone Stream scenic area, where the colorful stone patterns at the bottom of the stream are quite magical. Dongyudao is also a walking hiking route, with attractions such as Qingyang Hall, Hanque Gate, and Dongtianmen along the way. Each route ultimately leads to the Daiding tourist area at the summit. There are three passenger cableways in the Mount Tai scenic area: Zhongtianmen, Taohuayuan, and Houshiwu. The Zhongtianmen Cableway is China's first large-scale high-mountain tourist passenger cableway. Completed on August 5, 1983, it is located along the central axis of the main Taishan attraction, running from Zhongtianmen at the bottom up to the south side of Yueguan Peak at Nantianmen. The current equipment is a single-line circulating detachable grip cableway with 8-passenger cabins, and the line has a total length of 2,082 m. As an aerial transportation artery connecting the Taohuayuan attraction and the South Heaven Gate attraction of Mount Tai and linking the western foot of the mountain, the Taohuayuan Cableway was first completed on November 8, 1993, and upgraded in 2018 to a monocable circulating detachable-grip 8-passenger gondola cableway, with a line length of 2,178 m. The Houshiwu Cableway is located at the northern foot of Mount Tai, starting from the Houshiwu Scenic Area below and extending up to the North Heavenly Gate. It was completed and opened to traffic on August 28, 1993. The Dai Temple is located at the southern foot of Mount Tai and in Tai'an City. It was first built in the Qin and Han Dynasties. It was the place where emperors of ancient dynasties worshipped the gods of Mount Tai and held sacrificial ceremonies. It is also a famous Taoist place. The Dai Temple has a large-scale architectural complex and is known as one of the four major ancient architectural complexes in China, along with the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Three Confucian Temples in Qufu, Shandong, and the Chengde Mountain Resort. Today, the majestic palaces are well preserved here, and you can enjoy the huge murals of the Song Dynasty and many ancient inscriptions. The entire Dai Temple was built in accordance with the palace city of ancient emperors. The high battlements and magnificent palaces show the style of ancient temples everywhere. Entering the Dai Temple from south to north, you can pass through the main buildings such as the Yaocan Pavilion, the Dai Temple Square, the Zhengyang Gate, the Peitian Gate, and the Ren'an Gate in turn, and then reach the Tianfu Hall. Among them, the tall Zhengyang Gate is the main entrance to the Dai Temple. In ancient times, only emperors could enter from this gate. Tianfu Hall is the core building of Dai Temple. It is the shrine of Emperor Dongyue. The God of Mount Tai (i.e. Emperor Dongyue) is enshrined in the hall. There are more than 300 steles and stone carvings from past dynasties in Dai Temple, so it is called "Dai Temple Stele Beilin " and a famous place to appreciate calligraphy. You can see the earliest existing stone carvings in China - the Qin Dynasty Li Si Xiaozhuan Stele. This stone carving is the edict issued by Qin II Hu Hai, and was carved by Prime Minister Li Si in Xiaozhuan font. It has a history of more than 2,200 years and is a precious treasure. There are also the representative works of Han Dynasty official script style "Zhang Qian Stele" and "Heng Fang Stele", one of the three great steles of Jin Dynasty, "Madam Sun" Stele, and the unique Tang Dynasty "Shuang Shu Stele" and other precious historical sites. In addition, the trees in the Dai Temple are lush and towering, and the environment is very beautiful. The Eighteen Bends of Mount Tai are to Mount Tai what Badaling is to the Great Wall and the Terracotta Army is to Xi'an. It is one of the most precipitous sections of the mountain path, a major landmark of Mount Tai, and a must-see attraction. The mountain path from the bottom of Dui Song Valley to Nantianmen is collectively known as the "Eighteen Bends of Mount Tai Scenic Area," containing over 1600 steps. The first 393 steps are called the "Slow Eighteen Bends"; the middle 767 steps are the "Medium Eighteen Bends"; and the last 473 steps are the "Tight Eighteen Bends." Locally, there's a saying: "Tight Eighteen, Slow Eighteen, Medium Eighteen." These three sections of the Eighteen Bends, less than one kilometer long, have a vertical drop of over 400 meters and a slope of about 70-80 degrees, taking about two hours to climb; its steepness is unimaginable. The steep, winding path is nestled between two cliffs that appear as if sliced ​​off, resembling a ladder to heaven from afar. After passing Duisong Mountain in the Taishan Scenic Area, visitors enter the Eighteen Bends section of the Taishan Scenic Area. The path cuts through the mountain, with Flying Dragon Rock to the east and Soaring Phoenix Ridge to the west, their sheer cliffs incredibly precipitous. Iron chains are provided along the sides of the Eighteen Bends path to facilitate climbing. Closer along the way, one can see babbling springs and flowers and trees growing on the rocks. Jade Emperor Peak is located north of Bixia Temple. It was formerly known as Taiping Peak and also called Tianzhu Peak, and is the summit of Mount Tai's main peak. It is named for the Jade Emperor Temple on its summit. As the highest point of Mount Tai, it stands at an elevation of 1,545 m, rising majestically from the ground. The Jade Emperor Temple is located on the summit. Historically known as Taiqing Palace or Jade Emperor Guan, its original construction date is unknown, though it was renovated during the Chenghua reign of the Ming Dynasty. Its main structures include the Jade Emperor Hall, Yingxu Pavilion, Wanghe Pavilion, and the east and west side halls. From the east pavilion, one can view the "Sunrise in the East," and from the west pavilion, one can see the "Golden Belt of the Yellow River," two of the great wonders of Mount Tai. Inside the Jade Emperor Temple, there is a bronze statue. The plaque above the shrine is inscribed with "Chai Wang Yi Feng," indicating that ancient emperors once burned firewood here to offer sacrifices to heaven and worship the gods of the mountains and rivers. In front of the hall is the "Jiding Stone," marking this as the highest point of Mount Tai. To the northwest of the Jiding Stone is the "Ancient Dengfeng Altar" stele, which proves that this was the site where emperors of past dynasties set up altars to offer sacrifices to heaven when they ascended Mount Tai. Mount Taishan-Hongmen Palace(First Heavenly Gate)is located north of Daizongfang Arch at the foot of Mount Tai. It is the starting point for the central hiking route and is named for the red rock on the southern cliff that resembles a gate. It is actually a complex of temple-style buildings, also known as Red Gate Palace. It features a semi-enclosed, concave space, and with the three white stone archways and steles in front, it forms a group of ancient buildings that are staggered in height, vibrant in color, and resemble a stairway to heaven. Looking north from the Feiyun Pavilion cave, the path is lined with trees and stone steps stretch into the distance, creating the historic scene known as "Dawn at Red Gate." To the west of the road in front lies the Guandi Temple, originally dedicated to Guan Yu, a famous general of the Shu Han state during the Three Kingdoms period. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Shanxi salt merchants often gathered here to worship and pray to the god of fortune, hence it is also known as the Shanxi Guild Hall. East of the palace, across the stream and to the south, is the site of the White Mule Tomb. Behind the palace stands a giant rock inscribed with "Little Mount Tai." It is said to be the incarnation of Bixia Yuanjun, and there was originally a small temple dedicated to her where pilgrims used to burn incense and pray for blessings. The temple was destroyed after the founding of the People's Republic of China and rebuilt in 1985. Fortunately, there weren't many people when I went, and the sun wasn't too strong, making the entire hike very comfortable. The scenery and stone carvings along the way were breathtaking, but unfortunately, I didn't know much about their history and culture, which was a slight disappointment. Although the climb was tiring, all the hard work was worth it the moment I reached the Jade Emperor Peak.

We took the cable car down the mountain. I thought it would be a long ride. It only took about 10 minutes. 100 yuan gone too quickly, haha. The worst part is that the cable car only goes halfway up the mountain; after that, you have to spend another 40 yuan to take the park bus. The scenery from the cable car wasn't great either. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high at first.

Dai Temple is definitely worth a visit! I was lucky it was raining in Tai'an the day I went, but there was a three-hour break in the rain, so I quickly went to Dai Temple, entering from the south gate and exiting from the north gate. I even walked around the city wall – it was a very nice experience.

The park staff were very friendly and helpful, there were no queues for the rides, and we had a fantastic time. I highly recommend the roller coasters, the Soaring Over the Limit, and the drop tower – they were so thrilling! I'll definitely come again.

There is a Puzhao Temple next to Tianwai Village, and there is a Sanyang Temple above the Puzhao Temple. You can come here for a leisurely stroll with your family on weekends. However, you need to climb a small mountain to get to Sanyang Temple. Most importantly, it is forbidden to bring fire🔥. You can bring some hot water with you (it is said that hot water is not provided). When you arrive at Sanyang Temple, find a suitable place, make a cup of tea, and overlook the small city of Tai'an. It is also very comfortable!

The minibus at Zhongtianmen on Mount Tai ran smoothly the whole time. Even though it was the weekend and many people were still at work, there were still plenty of tourists visiting Mount Tai.
