Everglades National Park is located at the southern tip of Florida and covers approx. 1.5 million acres. It is one of the largest national parks in the contiguous United States, second only to Death Valley and Yellowstone. The entire wetland is often described as a slowly flowing "River of Grass"—freshwater flows slowly from the interior toward the sea, sawgrass stretches like an ocean, and mangroves and bays converge at the southern end of the park, creating a rare subtropical wilderness view. This wetland is also a paradise for wildlife: American alligators float on the water, manatees swim slowly in the warm waterways, and the elusive Florida panther can be found here. Water birds such as roseate spoonbills and wood storks make this a famous bird-watching destination in North America. There are many trails and tour routes to choose from in the park: the Anhinga Trail features a boardwalk elevated above the water and is a classic spot for observing alligators and water birds up close; Shark Valley Visitor Center is a loop route that goes deep into the heart of the River of Grass, which can be explored by bike or tram, and the observation tower at the end offers a panoramic view of the wetlands; head south along the main road to reach the Flamingo area, where you can take a boat into the mangrove waterways; theTen Thousand Islands areaon the west side is crisscrossed with waterways and is suitable for boat tours. The park is very large, and the entrances are scattered and not connected to each other. During the dry season, the water level drops, and animals concentrate near the ponds, making them easier to observe. There are campgrounds in the park for visitors who want an in-depth experience.

Key West is also known asthe westernmost key, sitting among the thousands of islands and reefs of the Florida Keys at the far southwest end of the archipelago. It is a tropical coral island and the southernmost city in the continental United States, facing Cuba across the sea, and is often called the United States' land's end. U.S. Highway 1 extends out over the water via dozens of bridges, linking the Keys to mainland Florida. Most of the island's sights are concentrated in the old town: Duval Street is lined with brightly painted wooden houses, galleries, bars, and shops; theHemingway Homestill houses the famous six-toed cats; Truman's Little White House, where he spent winters, is well preserved; and the southernmost point buoy at the island's southern tip is a highly photographed landmark that marks the distance to Cuba. Hemingway's book "The Old Man and the Sea" was written in the Keywest Hemingway House. The exterior walls of the house are white and yellow-green, a typical Victorian style, surrounded by a small garden that is not large but lush.

In Key West, Southern Most Point should be an iconic check-in point. Many people line up to take photos. It is only 90 miles from here to Cuba. The entire island chain is very Central and South American. I miss the sunshine and sea there so much. I don’t know if I can go there again in my lifetime.
