Maspalomas Lighthouse

The Maspalomas Dunes are a nature reserve with 400 hectares and 3 ecosystems coexisting: a palm grove, a brackish water lagoon, and the dunes. The 5-km hike on the dunes was quite the experience, nevermind a rather easy feat, as I have expected. The desert-like proportions of the sandhills blocked all wind and sound, allowing us to submerge into complete silence and isolation even on one of the most visited coasts in Europe.

After walking along the coast of Maspalomas from east to west and looking at the beautiful holiday houses, palm trees, and holidaymakers sunbathing on the balconies, I felt that I had understood the scenery of this place.
