Things to do in Mae Hong Son

Located at the foot of Doi Kong Mu is the location of a large reclining Buddha built in the Tai Yai style in 1875. It is a 12-meter long reclining Buddha with a very beautiful appearance. Inside the area are two large lion statues built by Phraya Singhanatracha and Phra Nang Mia, standing side by side along the way to worship Phra That Kong Mu. I think we need more places like this where elephants are treated with respect and now abused. I found the experience to be rather adventurous. I saw people write a review complaining about shower facilities and food being rather cheap. Honestly if you want luxury then go spa but if you really want some time with elephants where you can walk around with them and pet them and feel their closure then Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai is the spot. I loved it.
